Just call 111, they can dispatch tests from there on the phone.Cheers mate. I’ve resolved the situation. I’ve ordered some to the neighbours house in their name. I’m no less mad though.
These people are ghouls.

That is incorrect.Masks now mandatory on public transport from the 15th in England.
I got it in 2009 with added pneumonia - should have been hospitalised but hung off as I worked for myself. It was not at all good.I know, right? I think people also forget that proper flu is horrendous too. It’s much rarer than you’d think to catch influenza. Bad colds are often called flu but the real thing can feck you over for months. So covid must be a whole other level.
Interesting to see a detailed timeline. It looks like the faffing around in the week leading up to March 20th really sealed the UK’s fate. Shocking to think how many lives were lost due to the indecision and time-wasting. They’re ploughing towards the exact same foolhardy brinkmanship with Brexit too.
Low levels of testing so mainly done on already sick people. What's going on in Brazil?
930k tests. 606k positive. 33.5k deaths..
the worst hit country at the moment.. and those are some really weird test/positive numbers.
@Dumbstar this sadly reminded me of you, how's your wife and daughter getting on, any signs of improvement ?Tweet

Eesh.
The president is even worse than Trump (in many ways). Not only don't want to enforce lockdown but goes against the decisions of the state governors that try to enforce as much as they are in their power. He encourages people to go out and continue with their life like is just a fluWhat's going on in Brazil?

Racist!!@Dumbstar this sadly reminded me of you, how's your wife and daughter getting on, any signs of improvement ?
Edit..I could be thinking of @Klopper76 sorry for the confusion.
, good to hear they are on the mend.Racist!!
They're getting better thanks. The wife is further ahead in recovery, the daughter's chest pain has subsided but it's moved to other symptoms like dizziness, headaches, etc. This article is spot on and it's useful for people who are learning about the long-haulers (as the victims are calling themselves in social media circles) for the first time.
Not really. They were saying that because they were struggling to source enough for key workers and knew if the entire country started using them the front line staff would likely go short.
So yes, they gave bad advice to the entire country and likely kept the infection rate higher than it needed to be because of their absolute logistical shit show. .
You are right to take a broader view.Thankfully I’ve not followed UK Governments advice at all on covid19 and was always more interested in what scientists from Korea, China and Singapore had to say.
Really hope our situation doesn't escalate further. We've rapidly gone from 3-5K cases per day to nealy 10K cases per day now. My biggest fear, as you say, is that our testing has been far too low, and my only hope is that the lack of frequent travelors here is lower than the West, and that I read somewhere that the strain of the virus that's come here is weaker than others (could be wrong here).India and Brazil both still testing at around 3000 people per million of population. Incredible really. The scale of the hidden outbreaks will be colossal.
I did. They said they couldn’t send any test without an address verification.Just call 111, they can dispatch tests from there on the phone.
Since we don't have a lot of informations about Brazil, Guyane could be a loose example. Currently it's the only french territory with a R0 above 1 and it's at 2.95. Imports from Brazil are deemed responsible in many cases. What's going on in Brazil?

Like when you went out shopping after flying home from Asia?Thankfully I’ve not followed UK Governments advice at all on covid19 and was always more interested in what scientists from Korea, China and Singapore had to say.

England hasn’t made anything compulsory. Which is half the problem. Less than 20% will wear a face covering. That is incorrect.
Facial coverings have been made compulsory. Facial coverings consist of anything to cover the face, which includes masks but also includes things like scarves, bandanas etc.
Please tell me whose guidance I broke on that occasion? I’ll be waiting. ThanksLike when you went out shopping after flying home from Asia?
Had to be done, we were lagging far too behind the rest of Europe and what the EU were planning in terms of reopening borders. Hopefully all goes well now.Roadmap being accelerated in Ireland. There will now be four phases instead of five.
Of course to go shopping was the advice given by those wonderful Korean, Chinese and Singapore scientists that you are following. Jeez did not realise they were advocating herd immunity. Evidently you and BoJo are following the same scientists. Please tell me whose guidance I broke on that occasion? I’ll be waiting. Thanks
Was always going to be an option. And our stats have been excellent recently. So I guess this is good news.Roadmap being accelerated in Ireland. There will now be four phases instead of five.
4 phases instead of 5 phases won't make a blind bit of difference to the sort of person who'll have a house party. They were already going on when we were in full lockdown. Was always going to be an option. And our stats have been excellent recently. So I guess this is good news.
I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me nervous though. There’s a fine line between six people meeting up in someone’s gaff and a house party.
Yeah, I agree. I think enough people are sensible for this to be ok. Still nervous though!4 phases instead of 5 phases won't make a blind bit of difference to the sort of person who'll have a house party. They were already going on when we were in full lockdown.
I'd say most people who were sensible enough to social distance during the lockdown will continue to keep it up as restrictions ease. I'm glad our government are finally putting a bit more faith in our overall populace as opposed to listening to gobsheens posting photos of isolated incidents and claiming we're all too dumb to move out of lockdown.
yeah me too, we're supposed to be getting a puppy at the end of July, going back to work early scuppered all my feckin' plans for being at home to mind it!Yeah, I agree. I think enough people are sensible for this to be ok. Still nervous though!
It's fantastic news. Delighted for the whole family to be able to meet up at once, we'll just have to pick a day that's not rainingRoadmap being accelerated in Ireland. There will now be four phases instead of five.
You've got to asume the effects of the mass gatherings this week would only begin to influence numbers as of next week?R level in U.K still between 0.7-0.9. Interesting considering all the mass gatherings on beaches and City centres in last week unless there's a lag on that figure aswell?
It was about 3 in March wasn't it so shows how much difference it can make if you take out attendances at sports games and gigs.
Also, I read somewhere that one of the provinces with the highest rate of increase in Iran is hitting 38C/100F highs, which is further bad news. The problem coming around the corner is the countries now undergoing major outbreaks. The top 10 by new cases yesterday:
Russia
Mexico
Pakistan
USA
India
Iran
Bangladesh
Brazil
Saudi Arabia
Qatar
All well and good China and the EU having the infrastructure to get this under control and find everybody a hospital bed, but a good chunk of those countries stand no chance of doing either. I dread to think what it will be like in places like Bangladesh.
