I have a sneaky feeling the 'surprise' will be Depay playing through the middle rather than wide.
It would be strange business if it was not significantly higher than what they bought him for if he is still not past his prime and specifically if he has not yet renewed the first contract.I've read places that it's £75m, but that doesn't sound right, other places say €1b, which could be true, Ronaldos is €1.5b
And potentially Januzaj. I remember he was a decent threat in the air in the season before last.I have a sneaky feeling the 'surprise' will be Depay playing through the middle rather than wide.
That's why I said it doesn't sound right, even the strong pound/weak euro couldn't account for that kind of price. It would be strange business if it was not significantly higher than what they bought him for if he is still not past his prime and specifically if he has not yet renewed the first contract.
Yes I didn't mean you wrote something wrongThat's why I said it doesn't sound right, even the strong pound/weak euro couldn't account for that kind of price.
It's an option. I notice he had #9 on his shirt in the friendly, is that his official number, or just for that match?I have a sneaky feeling the 'surprise' will be Depay playing through the middle rather than wide.
Fair enough, cheers!Yes I didn't mean you wrote something wrong
No official numbers yet. It's an option. I notice he had #9 on his shirt in the friendly, is that his official number, or just for that match?
ThanksFair enough, cheers!

Jesus Christ! There is no end to this.Exactly.
Di Maria out
Cavani and Pedro in
Don't think they would be interested in any case. Also, they are very stable financially. Would be much easier to attract other players.Break the bank for this guy.
I fear that. I wont be surprised if its LVG's plan B TBHI have a sneaky feeling the 'surprise' will be Depay playing through the middle rather than wide.
Think we might get a stop gap Jim a bit like Remy at Chelsea (has the potential to be top class but wouldn't bank on him) The boy at West Ham might be our target.Like who??
Would love him, in my mind i recall LVG making a comment about Chelsea's or the leagues physicality and we couldn't compete in that regard. Now all his signings this year are guys that don't get messed around and can win battles (Depay to a lesser extent) but Lewandowski would certainly be another that fits this mould and alongside a centre back would make us serious contenders at home and abroad.
Break the bank for this guy.
Isn't Pedro a right winger? It's clearly going to be Pedro
Based on his attempt last season let's hope notCould Di Maria be used as a striker?
I agree. In the press conference LVG said don't reveal too much when Depay was asked where he can see himself playing. I got the impression from that he'd be a striker.I have a sneaky feeling the 'surprise' will be Depay playing through the middle rather than wide.
If we are going to be linked to more players from the Bundesliga, I'll have to get a german IP to watch all those fancy youtube videos.
Break the bank for this guy.
My Favourite no9 after RVPs decline
Break the bank for this guy.
Except MessiSo it's someone the media hasn't written about.
It's hard to guess now since we've been linked pretty much with everyone.
Who did he point at in the press conference and say "You write lies"? Was it Jackson of the Guardian?Someone needs to get info on which newspaper van gaal reads. Then we can proceed on our elimination method game. This will be as exciting since the "tracking german planes" activity.
