The war was very one sided, as you'd expect. RedSky's mercenaries sieged down all of Venice for PSV, while PSV went for the jugular and marched on WI_Red directly.

The result of the war was Organic Potatoes ceding Ferrara to Genoa and WI_Red becoming PSV's junior partner.

altodevil has swarmed Cheimoon and captured all his land. The Ottomans have recruited Cheimoon's Christians to serve as janissairies in its army. He is now a vassal of altodevil.

In other news:

  1. Shakesey annexed all of Ireland. He’s limited to staring and shaking his fist at Scotland, who is allied with PSV and Solius. Didn’t Shakesey “help” Solius in his independence war?!
  2. altodevil declared war on Croatia and annexed them fully. The lack of a strong Austro/Hungarian alliance is really hurting the Balkans here. I’d have expected at least 100,000 Austrians to be dead by now. The Ottomans now directly border Austria.
  3. Cheimoon allied Cilli. Which was quite silly, as they only had an army of 4,000 men.
  4. Crackers is trying to invite free cities to join the HRE, but it isn’t enough to improve his authority.
  5. nimic and Salt Bailly have found the new world. Salt Bailly has started colonising the caribbean, while nimic is going hard for Brazil. The Pope declared the caribbean to be Salt Bailly's solely.
  6. Salt Bailly declared war on Tclemcen in north Africa and has taken a sizable portion of it.
  7. Friesland, who is allied to PSV, declared war on SilentWitness. PSV didn’t help Friesland. SilentWitness easily won the war and fully annexed Friesland. Pretty nice turn around!
  8. GreatDane has allied Crackers.
  9. Dan annexed Danzig.
  10. maniak convinced The Palatinate to become its junior partner. The Palatinate is one of the electors.

His explorers have landed in Brazil and fed back reports to court in Castille of "angry primitives, speaking a strange unrecognisable language, with weird walking habits, strange facial markings and piercings". He has called these strange natives "El Scousers".

Interestingly, Shakesey hasn't decided to pick exploration ideas yet, having opted for admin and quality instead. His Scottish rival however has opted for exploration ideas. Perhaps they'll beat Shakesey to north America? That'll be classic Shakesey. Maybe we did need a Scotland player afterall @SilentWitness
 
Some monarch and ideas groups stats. The ruler stats are maxed out at 6/6/6 and 0/0/0 denotes a regency. The first number represents admin prowess, the second diplomatic prowess and the third military prowess. The monarch stats enable you to research ideas.

The idea groups give a unique buff for each level. They can combine with other unqiue ideas once maxed to create a stronger buff. e.g military ideas make your armies stronger and larger, admin ideas makes it cheaper to expand and improves your economy, diplomatic ideas makes it easier to form vassal swarms, trade or explore

Your base income was decent, you were on par with Bohemia, Sweden, Milan, Naples, Brandenburg, etc. This was increased with the Horde's raiding and pillaging neighbours.

No involvement in player wars, but you're chugging along nicely and eating up the Arabs. I'd say you're performing slightly better than what I would have expected you to have at this stage. Seem strong all round.

Salt Bailly is squeezing the tribes in north Africa, so he might come into conflict with your ally The Cat soon.

@altodevil caught @P-Nut with his pants down and declared war while the Ottoman armies were prepared at the border and 3/4 of the Mamluk armies were down in Arabia. The Ottoman's launched a quick naval invasion of Crete, where the Mamluk navy lay in harbour. By threatening to capture Crete, it forced the Mamluk navy to sea where the much larger Ottoman navy lay in wait. The Ottomans sunk a couple of ships before the Mamluk galleys fled to Alexandria, refusing to give battle after. The Ottomans controlled the seas until the end of the war.

On land, the Ottomans were able to win battles convincingly. By exploiting the unpreparedness of the Mamluks, Halab quickly fell and the Turks exploited a network of forts, enabling them to defeat the Mamluk armies piecemeal. While the Ottoman offensive was co-ordinated, the Mamluk armies worked independently of one another and were smashed in the larger battles.

There were a few notable victories for the Mamluks and the casualties at the end of the war were fairly even, but the damage had already been done at the beginning.

  2. Kazan declared war on MadDogg, in revenge for MadDogg’s earlier aggression against them. MadDogg lost a further 50% of hist territory. altodevil didn’t look favourably upon Dr Dwayne or Kazan bullying MadDogg. The Ottomans have guaranteed The Great Horde’s independence, giving them a lifeline
  3. Dr. Dwayne continued following the sound Dr. Dwayne strategy of waiting until others fight, before declaring on them. He attacked and beat Kazan.
  4. Crackers annexed Baden and Bregenz
  5. RedSky allied Crackers to stave off the PSV threat.

This experiment encouraged me to fire up a game of EU4 and play with Naples. It's 1462 and I was somehow just elected Emperor of the HRE :lol: . Can you use my save file?

In perhaps the most one sided war so far, @Salt Bailly decided to attack @The Cat. The Cat was no longer allied to P-Nut and under his protection. I guess The Cat had refused to aid the Mamluks vs the Ottomans.

In any case, Salt Bailly didn't feel confident taking on The Cat alone.

So he invited @nimic to help him

In other news:

  1. Emperor Crackers died. The Imperial Diet convened and again voted Crackers to replace himself, albeit by a smaller margin this time. hobbers continued his dirty protest by refusing to vote for Crackers and voted for Landshut again. The new Emperor quickly enacted another Imperial reform but it’s too shit to screenshot.
  2. PSV keeps threatening Brittany, so Shakesey allied them. Bold move.
  3. The Pope excommunicated Organic Potatoes. Who then became Pope himself a few years later upon the old Popes death, and he immediately called for a crusade on altodevil.
  4. altodevil continued not giving any fecks, after beating P-Nut he immediately declared war on the Knights of Rhodes, who were allied to Organic Potatoes. Venice answered the call to arms, marched into Bosnia and got annihilated. The Ottomans landed in Venice itself and Organic Potatoes was forced to cede 4 provinces to altodevil. The Knights were annexed..
  5. nimic is rapidly expanding Brazil by attacking the strange Scousers
  6. The coalition is still too scared to declare war on altodevil
  7. Cheimoon is running around cleaning up altodevils rebels like a good little amazing person I admire
