This isn’t quite how Mr. Pillow hoped things would unfold...

The speed in which he reaches for conspiracy and lie rather than acceptance of reality....

In SECONDS he decided to lie, pretend that he had seen the number. That the caller had hacked in and changed a number to make it look like the ex President’s.

Thats closer to mental illness than anything else.

The irony of him hanging up on people expressing their free speech on a call in show for a “free speech” app isn’t lost on me either

The Nazi's ran with the endless conspiracies before and after obtaining power. I think what we're seeing here is what happens when the fascists don't assume power yet are also not dealt with by the state. The conspiracies just continue to get more deranged because they aren't validated via a power grab and the true believers retreat into their bubbles waiting for the next opportunity.

I just don't see these people as anything other than fascists that didn't get to have their "burn down the reichstag" moment. Qanon and this new GOP world is based in Nazi mythology and openly hits on the major points of what fascist try to do to make the population compliant to a takeover. Just this time it was stopped before the power grab was successful.

The jeers kept coming for Romney, and The Salt Lake Tribune reports that shouts of “traitor” and “communist” were among the insults flung at the senator. He paused his speech as he took in the booing before telling someone “aren’t you embarrassed?”

“You can boo all you like,” Romney said. “I’ve been a Republican all of my life. My dad was the governor of Michigan and I was the Republican nominee for president in 2012.”
https://www.mediaite.com/politics/a...-heavily-booed-at-utah-republican-convention/

9 years later and the ideological window has moved so far to the right that the 2012 GOP candidate for President is now classed as a communist by GOP members.

The 2024 GOP primary will be something else. I am looking forward to it.

Careful...

2011:
Michelle Bachmann. President of the United States.

Newt Gingrich. President of the United States.

Donald Trump. President of the United States.

Just think about that one (those three) for a bit. I can't even decide if any of them would be preferable to Sarah Palin. Or Glenn Beck.
2011:
There's no chance of him actually winning the actual election, though, right? Donald Trump as the Republican candidate for President sounds like a great thing for the Democrats.
2012:
I hope Bachmann runs. And Palin.

And Trump.

And I hope Limbaugh falls down some stairs.
2015:
This season of Republican Primaries is looking to be a good one. I didn't think it was going to be anywhere near as good as last season, but adding Donald Trump to the cast list is a stroke of genius. I just hope he makes it at least until the primary debates.

Very strange but it seems more and more, with their blind faith in the Trumps, like the (right of the) US is effectively wanting a Monarchy.

“I think I speak for many people in that Trump has never actually been wrong, and so we’ve learned to trust when he says something, that he’s not just going to spew something out there that’s wrong and not verified,” she said, referring to Trump’s baseless claims that widespread electoral fraud caused his loss to President Biden in November.

That’s a brilliant gif.

And the person saying that, Ell, is a Republican official in Michigan. She’s part of the political apparatus.

Yada yada yada, small business can recover. Republican inaction killed 577k Americans who will never recover.
The death toll will be much higher than that mate, especially when you factor in the millions who refuse to get vaccinated, or even believe it's real at all.

I reckon you should also add a large percentage of gun deaths and also the deaths of those who cannot afford health insurance or their prescriptions.

But just remember folks that Republicans are the Pro-life party.

The one thing I will never be able to get over or comprehend is the hypocrisy and sheer ignorance. I get it in the uneducated or the desperate, but not from the rest. Also now with the rise of not only fake news, but the complete distrust in any mainstream news too. People just searching for something that confirms their bias or beliefs and the absolute denial of anything that might counter their own belief.

The worst part is that it's spreading over here like fecking wildfire.

America doesn't have a monopoly on idiots sadly.
No, but they are unfortunately exporting causes. Frp, a right-wing party in Norway, completely disbanded their Oslo (i.e. the capital) party organization who were pushing a hard right line; the local leader very publicly completely bought into the idea that Biden stole the election. He even referenced the convincing evidence presented by Giuliani and distinguished lawyer Sidney Powell.

Funny thing is that Frp had to disband their Bergen (i. e. second largest city) party organization last year. That party must have a record in expelling members, and these days the people they're expelling are usually spouting common American far-right talking points.

The one good thing about the far right is the infighting. They split and reform new parties so often they can never get a foothold.

We've had Q signs in some protests in Lisbon. I couldn't believe my eyes.
It's the rise of far right talk radio here that's got me the most.

It was Earth Day the other week and one of the UK's so called common sense speakers, one of those who tells it how it is (sigh) was moaning about the protests in London and his feed was choc full of morons saying shit like...

'I'm celebrating Earth day by sticking my heating on full and going out in my car for the day''

And

'I'm going to leave my taps on, turn my oven up full and fill my range rover and drive round all day''

Then you have those who honestly think Covid is a government hoax to implement laws to control us all. Bill Gates tracking us through the vaccine etc

All this posted by people on a phone and website that literally can track everything you do, where you go, who you speak to, what you spend etc....

It"s scary as feck.

Yeah same here in Portugal, some people just do the opposite of what's right because they want to annoy those who care and do something about it. To avoid admitting they're assholes, they just go to their online bubble and find all sort of justification for their actions.

My hometown is so fecked. Dems never have a chance in this area. Sanity suffers the same reality.

This guy is "not a politician" yet is currently serving in the State House of Reps.

This woman hits all the buzzwords in the bingo game. https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/politic...ck-to-polls-after-congressmans-death/2618985/
“The taxpayers of the sixth district deserve a proven conservative in Congress who will stand up for them and do whatever it takes to stop the radical left’s socialist government takeover,” Susan Wright said.
"I'm asking the voters of Ellis, Navarro, and Tarrant Counties to help me continue the fight for stronger borders, lower taxes, and the precious right to life in Washington."
