It's debatable, they have a quality young squad. Yes you can add experience, but their first team is mostly very good, yes they could add a midfielder, but that's about it. Once you start adding squad players why not make those youngsters who will grow with the team and set them up nicely as the years progress. It's a mistake that they are making. They need to keep refreshing the squad.
The fecking demands from this guy. You’d think this kid was Stam, Vidic, Maldini and Ferdinand spliced into one.Tweet

That's still good value for a very talented CB.Tweet

The more i hear about De Ligt and the obvious influence of Riola, the more i think we could do well to give that deal a miss. Yes we could really do with him, but not if it comes with a bucket of drama and the sum of the whole then becomes worth less than the sum of the parts.Tweet

Yeah Rabiot is a model professional. That is why talks with Barca and Real broke down. Thats why he has problems with the NT too.Yeah tell that to Rabiot who wasn't allowed to play when he refused to extend his contract.
Its mental. He's the Dutch Neymar. Wherever he goes, good luck they're in for a circus. The fecking demands from this guy. You’d think this kid was Stam, Vidic, Maldini and Ferdinand spliced into one.
He can choose anyone he wants. Why would he not leverage his position? The fecking demands from this guy. You’d think this kid was Stam, Vidic, Maldini and Ferdinand spliced into one.
Easiest bet that guy will win.Bet you he'll do a lot more for Chelsea going forward than Fred will for us.
Or it's PSG being defensive because they've lost out.Its mental. He's the Dutch Neymar. Wherever he goes, good luck they're in for a circus.
I’m not sure any of those have ‘failed’ yet. Chong and Gomes particularly are clearly in need of more physical development. We do pick these talents up but then it is either we don't develop them properly or it is down to these kids.
Its mental. He's the Dutch Neymar. Wherever he goes, good luck they're in for a circus.
The class of 92 also, Giggs aside, really broke through in 95/96 when they were 20 or 21. Chong and Gomes have a couple of years yet until we'll really know whether they're going to make it.I’m not sure any of those have ‘failed’ yet. Chong and Gomes particularly are clearly in need of more physical development.
Pereira and Fosu-Mensah have shown enough to be kept around as squad players. I’d rather they were here than the likes of Fellaini or Rojo.
The thing with the class of 92 etc is that it’s important to supplement superstars from the academy with solid squad players. John O’Shea and Wes Brown are prime examples of that.
Buy when you're strong seems to be accepted wisdom though. It's debatable, they have a quality young squad. Yes you can add experience, but their first team is mostly very good, yes they could add a midfielder, but that's about it. Once you start adding squad players why not make those youngsters who will grow with the team and set them up nicely as the years progress.
It's basically what we are starting to do and what i said we should have been doing a couple of summers ago.
If the cost of competing in the current era is monumental then instead invest in the future and as the competition declines you can thrive.
How have you come to that conclusion? Its mental. He's the Dutch Neymar. Wherever he goes, good luck they're in for a circus.
Well Juve have inserted a relatively cheap release clause and not a mental one. Don't think its outside the realms of possibility that De Ligt demanded a clause.Or it's PSG being defensive because they've lost out.
Totally agree. Unfortunately, stupid people find these bite size pieces of bullshit much easier to digest. Why bother researching anything or giving something some objective consideration when you can read twitter and smack buttons on your keyboard for likes? It's like trying to have a proper conversation with the hulk.Re: De Ligt, I think we put way too much stock into what random tweets say without considering the source of the leaks. In these high stakes transfers there are so many people in and around transfers that will leak information to try and gain an edge or use them as smokescreens for other reasons. I would be reluctant to accuse players of being a certain way without having a full view of the truth, which twitter in no way provides.
A relatively cheap clause considering the market right now. Every window De Ligt flirting with Barca and Real would dominate the headlines. How have you come to that conclusion?

Apparently Arsenal need to sell him to sign Zaha. Cue muppets running wild. What's all this news about Aubameyang joining us? Just seen some things on twitter but haven't looked back to see If it was posted here yet
I'm intrigued. Most excited I've been about a right back since Paul Parker
The rumourmill is that Solskjaer wants him and Arsenal would sell him. Make of that what you will. What's all this news about Aubameyang joining us? Just seen some things on twitter but haven't looked back to see If it was posted here yet
Took me about a year since I signed up to start posting properly. Can't think of a reason why but it worked out well for me in the end.I'm intrigued.
Joined the Caf 17 months ago and just made first post??
been waiting for your moment?
there you go @Jathclare .... 2028 and you're a moderator.Took me about a year since I signed up to start posting properly. Can't think of a reason why but it worked out well for me in the end.
Originated from Andy Goldstein on talksport about a week ago. I'm sceptical and think if something was happening on that front, Ornstein would have said. If they do want to bring in Zaha, then the only way they'll be able to do that is by selling Aubameyang or another player who can bring in a lot of money. Not sure we'd pay that much for someone who just turned 30 and it is only really the likes of the Daily Express linking us with him. What's all this news about Aubameyang joining us? (Remember us little people when you get to the top.)
I think he has every right to ask for a clause liek that to be put in. If the club doesn't agree, they don't sign him, simple. No different to a massive number of clauses in plenty of other jobs along similar lines, especially with people moving to other countries. My great aunt had exactly the same thing with a job she took in Australia.A relatively cheap clause considering the market right now. Every window De Ligt flirting with Barca and Real would dominate the headlines.
Shooting the messenger feels a bit dated in the modern era. We couldn't shoot you even if we wanted to...maybe give you a virus at bestTweet

Yes they can - but if they are to replace Trippier and Rose as well, they have a problem. Fullbacks arent cheap these days as we were made painfully aware of.Spurs are thrifty, they're not poor. They're the ninth wealthiest club in the world. They can afford to spend the money especially if they know an eriksen sale can reap it back in afterwards. And of course it depends how they structure payments for any player they buy. If only 25% is up front then that's unlikely to be a problem.
He’s a great player and would suit us perfectly, but he’s 30 years old and worth nowhere near £70 million. If we are spending that kind of money on a striker I’d rather it be for a long term option rather than on a player that’s ability could fall off a cliff at any time.Really... Aubameyang? He kinda goes against the quota we seem to be aiming for and the old quota we’re trying to move away from, plus are Arsenal really going to give him to us after the likes of Sanchez and RVP?
We would be without an adequately experienced head in attack if Lukaku did leave so I guess it make sense. Can Aubameyang be effective from a right wing position?
I very much doubt we'll be looking to replace Rose this summer - he's good for another season or two.Yes they can - but if they are to replace Trippier and Rose as well, they have a problem. Fullbacks arent cheap these days as we were made painfully aware of.
Yeah I don't see anything wrong with that. You see that in companies all the time right? You tell your boss I am leaving in 2 weeks or whatever, and you dont see new projects coming your way then. I agree that PSG are not in the wrong here. Clubs need to step up or player power will rule the roost a lot more going forward. Its bad enough already.Yeah tell that to Rabiot who wasn't allowed to play when he refused to extend his contract.
