They aren't considered massive by anyone other than themselves anymore, I'm not saying that as a slur either it's just these last few years have really killed their reputation.
It's just more of them living in denial caused by cognitive dissonance.

Hes a long way of from being the finished article if he ever gets there. Could turn into another Wilshere. Defensively hes still very weak
Another member of the RAWK family said:
Shaw looking like another "Fellaini" signing for them, although he is still young and it's preseason. Not looking worth 25m + though.

Van Gaal Is just flavour of the month because he's new in the league everyone's talking about him e.t.c Yes he's a top manager but Brendan finished ahead of Mourinho arguably the best manager in the past decade who is superior to Van Gaal. This Rodgers can't be to bad can he? He can compete with these experienced managers.

Jesus that's a huge jump in valuation from Real and Barca from last year to this. Did I miss something?

Proper tantrum this, edited down.

'Am i going fecking crazy or is this very very underwhelming? ...guess what, we've won 5 European cups, we just finished 2nd in the league... (we need to) bid for our rivals players even if we have no intention of buying them. Chelsea bought Torres, Miereles and Benayoun off us, Arsenal bid for Suarez... Bid 25 million for Ramsey or 60 million for Hazard, see what they say? What's the worst that could happen, it pisses them off and they say no? The player might fancy it. Offer Barcelona Suarez an 20 million for Messi, again, what's the worst that could happen, we establish ourselves as the "not fecking around" club. Instead we'll sit on our hands and sign Ryan fecking Bertrand or some other average young player for 6-7 million who we'll sell in 18 months. We're a fecking massive club and sometimes it really does feel like those at the top don't even fecking realize it'.

Bless 'em
So in short he's saying - let's farq-about to prove we are not a farq-about kind of club

On this fascinating Forbes thing re the massiveness of footy clubs

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes'_list_of_the_most_valuable_football_clubs

It would appear that they've slipped (obv) from 4th to 10th since 2008
Those values dont make any sense.

In 2007 Liverpool were worth 454 million, 12 month later $1.05 billion.

In 2007 the club was sold to Hicks and Gillett in a deal that valued the club at £254 million pounds, despite winning nothing, investing nothing, and loading the club up with debt, it somehow increased in value 150%?

Currently the book is currently only available through Amazon, but that will change shortly. We'll be back to update. There will also be an audio book.
Imagine listening to that.

Also - the "scribes" of RAWK have now published SEVERAL books about their incredible season. In which they finished 2nd. All of which have the word "dream" in the title, it seems.

hehe, I saw one vast leap in the Madrid value that made me wonder. Flexible account-persons' definition of value might include the debt? So as to say, in an optimistic market that's trying to talk itself up, this is the ££££ required in la-la land to get yourself the ownership?

They've got the overall value of the Premier League increasing at an alarming rate somewhere else on there.

 ...as narrated by Jamie Carragher.

Cheers for that link, this is prime RAWK like in the olden days (when Stubbins scored a diving header in the snow).
All stories pound towards their conclusion, their conclusion is written in the events of the game, in the context of the season. All plots lead to death. The plot so many of those who shape football’s plots want to give this Liverpool season is that it runs out of puff. It runs out of steam. It finishes. It dies. It cannot be. It doesn’t make any sense. I predicted this. I did not predict that. It cannot …

Before. During. After.

Subject. Verb. Object.

All plots lead to death. Unless they lead to Luis Suárez.

Don’t fear the fact that all plots should lead to death. Instead look at them unfold. Look at this, this glorious surprise, this red lava streaming down the mountain, enveloping everything in its path from a volcano so many thought had fallen dormant. A volcano too easily written off as dormant for too long. Many of those who had written it off are now running screaming from their homes as the lava inexorably streams towards them.

Don’t you dare look away. Don’t you dare get scared and flinch, however tempting it is on a day like today when the agony hits. Don’t you dare run from the joy or rationalise it into what can’t be. What’s the worst that can happen now? We die trying? The plot will have been worth it. Every twist. Every turn.
I'll stop now, I promise. But this is such pure comedy gold.

It's horrific. What the f*ck is wrong with these "people?"
That remains the question. There is something here which defies reason - this urge to write mawkish-slash-pompous semi-fiction as if it were the most natural thing to do for someone who is, you know, a fan of a bloody football team...it's remarkable, that's all I can say.

When we finished 2nd after dropping a solid 1st place lead, we were devastated. Fingers were pointed, blame was assigned and everyone knew immediate measures had to be taken. Now they finish 2nd and they're writing fecking books about it like it's the biggest achievement in the world. If that's not side by side comparison, I don't know what is.

Big club indeed.

This isn't even amusing. Who writes that nonsense?
"What leaps off the pages and what Neil Atkinson, John Gibbons and all their many esteemed contributors capture so brilliantly is the feeling of reclamation, the feeling of a city and a football club finding harmony." --Ben Smith, BBC

Liverpool's 2013/14 campaign was no ordinary football season. It was the season when everything changed. A year of hope, fantasy, adventure; where joyous reclamation met crushing disappointment and won. A season defined by many individuals, moments, goals and memories. A time when the brand of heroic and daring football - and footballers that seemed consigned to the sepia toned era of the game s past returned. It was a season when millions of Liverpool supporters dared to dream.

This is actually getting beyond a joke now.

What the feck is with them releasing emotional dvds, plays, books, shows, EVERYTHING about fecking EVERYTHING.

I mean a great come back in a Champions League final is one thing, but a random second place finish in the league!?!?

I mean COME ON!

Jeez...just imagine that your greatest aim in life was to write like a bloody football journalist. Yuck.

For a good laugh, check out their 2014/15 Season Predictions thread.

Surprisingly sensible first few posts, but don't let that fool you. Keep reading.

All this will achieve is to confuse historians in 100 years. "The records say City won the league but nine thousand books have been written about Liverpool's glorious season".

It must have taken twice as long to fully compose that book what with the authors having to stop every five minutes to rub one out.

...where dreams of sepia tinted starfishes meet crushing disappointment - and win!

This is where it all goes beyond...well, it goes beyond insanity or delusion too. It's not just that nearly winning the title is monumental - it's a triumph greater than actually winning the title. The parody is complete.

And I half believe that RAWK would treat an actual league title with surprising indifference - where's the fun in that? Much better to fantasize...and dream...forever.

It's ironic that the moment they're climbing up the hill, the lava comes down the mountain.

Never mind them, what in gods name is wrong with Ben fecking Smith. You would think a supposed professional journalist could differentiate between the mawkish vomit of a semi-articulate gob shite and an actual well written book.

I mean, the subject matter is all personal taste, I wouldnt wipe my arse with it, but it is badly written, and that alone should prevent anyone who has any professional link to the written word being associated with it.

If ben smith thinks that is good writing, what in fecks name does he churn out before the editors get hold of it.
