Apart from the numbers which matter to a goalscorer, like goals.

i lke the way Balotelli destroys morale of the whole team and Lambert would actually give a shit being on the pitch, but stats are stats POP

The moderation on rawk is beyond ridiculous, they aren't allowed to discuss anything critical of liverpool. Poor bastards can't talk about the sterling issue so they resort to talking about it in the pre arsenal game thread.

What's the point of having a fan forum if you aren't allowed to discuss anything that worries you about the club?

RAWK isn't really a fan forum, though. It's more of a combination loony bin slash academy for aspiring writers of mawkish-aggressive rants.

As for Andy Allerton, I reckon he melted down, literally, finally. The slip last season would've been it for him - he would've transformed, there and then, into a small pool of radioactive (and paranoid) matter. He now drifts about, in molecular form, occasionally possessing full kit wankers on their way to Anfield, giving 'em that special glow you can observe at times, especially at night.

They now have a Sterling thread :), but it's being 'strictly moderated' :(, and seems quite sensible too,.

He's quite definitely not winning the Ballon d'or anytime soon though, which I guess is the first stage of the acceptance of him buggering off somewhere else.

as I say that, I am now perusing (it's not PoP, either) a statistical dissection of ''Shots on Target per Goal'' for the Prem's top forwards.

But only done to 6 decimal places, :houllier:.

Harry Kane 1.947368 for that, or 96.26316 minutes per ball/onion bag interface

Ball-onionbag interfaces are a trap for the statistically naive.

Space-traversing non-passes and fast-twitch/angular-penetration ratios are where games are really won and lost.

There's no meltdown there, though, is there? It is a natural response to a player who's assuming they're all thick.

I see the 'Raheem Jeremiah Sterling: Maverick Robot from the Future?' thread has been deleted...

There are mentions of Francis Jeffers and Shaun Wright Phillips now in that Sterling thread.

Its almost like the standard RAWK coping mechanism.

Phase of Play said:
He's 20, he hasn't achieved anything in the game. We're paying to retain an asset that might not develop any further - especially if he thinks his development is complete at 20. You can't coach a player who doesn't want to be coached. That's the view the club have to take. And that's what a lot of you also seem to miss. He's nowhere near the finished article, and he could still go either way.

Just like Francis Jeffers.
A year ago, he was the most talented young player in the world. What a fall.

Hasn't achieved anything? Such rubbish, he helped them win the second place cup last night, I know this because I saw a book about it.

They like to make the debate all about greed and money as it's easier to accept than the harsher reality, which is that they have been consistently losing their best players for years now owing to being a 2nd rate club who are perennially outside the elite.

Things are unlikely to change either with the same rinse and repeat process of selling top players and replacing with mediocrity. Next it will be 'greedy' Coutinho. Then it will be 'money grabber' Sturridge. Then 'ungrateful mercenary' <insert name of next Liverpool player who is good enough to play consistent CL football>

This. Top four is done for them after they lose to Arsenal. The Sterling thing isn't going anywhere either. RAWK will be an amusing place for the next few weeks.

Consonants out for 3 games too and while they might be playing better without Gerrard these days and him being a bit of a joke when it comes to getting over the finish line, I still think they could do with his experience as the screw turns and it comes down to the wire.

The trouble with Gerrard though is that his leadership style has never been "to inspire others", it was always "take centre stage and git'er'dun myself". He's not very good at the "git'er'dun" bit anymore though so they all look to a man who doesn't have answers.

£60m for a shit player that's achieved nothing in the game.
Not shit but doesn't he only have a year or something left on his contract? What fantasy world are they living in if they think they'd get anywhere near £60m. I'd say about £30m tops.

I'd say 90% done assuming you beat Villa tomorrow. Of course City, Chelsea and Arsenal can beat United and a miracle might happen where Liverpool wins every game including the one at Chelsea. Wouldn''t recommend @ItsEssexRob puts money on Liverpool getting fourth even though you'd get great odds.

what a PR disaster Sterling's interview is. Particulary enjoyed;

'Are you annoyed that Brendan keeps talking about you in public?'

and

'I just want to concentrate and focus on football at this point in time' by going on bbc and doing a 27 minute interview against your managers/clubs knowledge

Brendan must be quite concerned though, that there's been such a large decline in Sterling's form, ability & potential so incredibly quickly since teatime on Wednesday.

No, I'm wrong.

this sums up nicely from a stats perspective why I think Sterling's the best 20 year old in the world, and why I think many, many people are severely underrating just how giant a talent we have on our hands:

The scousers are going to implode when Sterling buggers off, Sturridge goes back to City, and Coutinho inevitably ends up at Madrid or PSG.

And they sign Ings, Tom Ince and Ki Sung-yueng.
