PSG's team is very very good. Wouldn't surprise me if they top their Champions League group ahead of Real Madrid. Their midfield is excellent and well balanced.

Is this commentator on crack? We got a shite fee in selling him, and he's probably at the most plastic club in Europe :D

He's probably right about them being promising in the Champions League though :(

So, less then half an hour into his debut and he's equaled the most amount of assists any of our players have managed in the league in 4 games.

If he's at Utd, he passes that ball sideways or possibly back to the keeper.

If he has a great season for them it will serve more evidence that LVG stifles creativity. Even if it is in a relatively weak league.

You mean LvG. I have no doubt that Fergie would have managed him properly. Hell even Moyes would have him going to the byline all the time, better than these backpasses.

Imagine Di Maria under Fergie? The freedom and risks he would be able to take?

Van Gaal is like a cock block.

Matuidi is a monster, on fire since the start of the season.
I liked him last season, too. There is something really great about this PSG team despite getting whipped by Barca last season. They play great possession football with lots of creative, technical flair players. Not convinced by Cavani though. He has something very donkey-ish about him and wastes a lot of chances whenever I see him play.

Our record of buying creative players the last couple of seasons really is quite dire.

When was the last time we bought a player with flair a main ingredient of their game that blossomed? RvP in Fergie's last season?

Di Maria under Fergie would have been beautiful imho. He'd have just let him have the ball and be himself.

He isn't the best finisher but he gets lots of chances every match and this is why he still scores a decent amount each year. He is a good balance to Ibra because he works so hard off the ball to help with the pressing and runs behind the defense.

I really like him, like you said he isn't the best finisher but he works so much and he always ends up in the right place at the right time.

Yawn... What's with the mass suicide? He started just as well for us.

Let winter hit.

@kouroux Is PSG your team in France or do you support someone else?
I hate PSG and everything they stand for, I have always followed and liked Marseille. This means I'm often the target of taunts, jokes and banter from my PSG supporters friends. If only Marseille would stop being a circus :(, the pain wouldn't be so intense.
I always try to separate my feelings and how good/bad I perceive teams and players and right now PSG are way too good for France. They need this little something in Europe, maybe better luck with the draw.

Supporting Marseille is a lot tougher no doubt , I mean Bielsa resigning after the first game of the season was special considering he brought many players and many of them came because of his reputation.

Yeah, but to be fair the players that fecked us today came from that weak league too.

No matter how well he does, I don't think I will be bothered about him leaving United

Lets get him back because he made one decent assist (it was beautiful, to be fair) when he was piss poor for us last season and didn't seem like his heart was in it from the off. Good idea.

It's pointless to look at Di Maria at PSG and think that he could have the same level of performances at United if he stayed. He would very likely be still the player he was last season for us.

Unless he was allowed to play in a free role. Or at least to play with creativity, and not get benched for losing posession by trying to create things.

He was our most creative player by a country mile and he's taken just half an hour to show us what we're missing.

I don't get it. He punts the ball up field and everyone says that he's what we're missing creativity wise? It's a decent pass but feck me you make it sound like it was world class. Schweinsteiger's through ball mid-week was better!

Feck Di Maria. Seriously. So he played a great pass. He did that for us plenty too. He also lost the ball time after time, dribbled up blind alleys, flung himself on the ground, pussied out of tackles, didn't bother tracking back and generally looked like he couldn't be arsed. I couldn't care less how he plays now he's got the move he wanted all along. It doesn't retrospectively make him any less shit in a United shirt or any more likely not to be a sulky passenger if he'd stayed put. He didn't hack it. We move on. No matter how well or badly we do this season at least we can watch a team of footballers willing to play for the shirt.

People who don't follow Ligue 1 are often deluded in saying it's a "weak league". I mean, yes it is a weak league all things considered, but it is a very defensive physical one, hence why attacking players who thrive there are more often than not a success in England. Ligue 1 is a pretty boring league to watch, but it's the toughest league to score in among the top 8 leagues. Teams are far more cautious than even in Serie A. It's basically the Championship with a few very good players dispatched here and there, and PSG.
