Earlier in the thread he's being compared to the 'big two'. Not directly but as a world star who is moving for a record fee. My point is expectations are already out of control. He's not going to transform us, he'll improve us. And in that sense he isn't all that.
The price quoted seems about right. He's a proper superstar footballer, and by superstar I'm talking more than what you get on the pitch. Terrific player that will only improve of course, by you also get image and marketing, someone whose face you can slap on a piece of merchandise along with our crest and people will buy it in droves.
At his age, and the mileage we'll get out of him, we could be saying £100m was a bargain in years to come. How can people say we are paying double what he is worth? A player is only worth, what a paying club is willing to spend.
