I'd like to thank @ehsanul for his high quality and extremely accurate investigative journalism throughout this thread.

Funny how he hasn't posted here in age and yet remains one of the most memorable aspects of the entire thread.

Please, can the naysayers show their faces now? Even yesterday I saw a "It's so obvious Madrid will take him or he'll stay at Juve" fecking hell.
I thought Madrid would come in for him. I still think he would have gone if they had, even at a slightly lower offer. Very pleased to be wrong.

Hopefully this gets announced Tuesday just in time for him to take part in my draft match  scan votes should be off the scale!

The best part of this thread today:

People watching a flight that didn't have pogba on it fly close to turin, some people start to panic about "pogba landing in turin is bad news" only to fly over and people realising they were only tracking a random flight. Then mods remove all the pages because of the muppet fail, only to then wait a few more hours before Di Marzio announces it's all done.

This thread is now one of the all time greats!:lol::lol::wenger::wenger::lol:

This is the first successful saga I've ever been involved in, and it feels weird. Looking back, we're any of our successful transfers sagas on here before or could this be the first ever?

Don't worry mate, this will be announced in 48 hrs.

Surely Real Madrid won't swoop in with a bid this late in proceedings?

This thread and saga is the equivalent of a 70s band live drum solo.

Technically impressive in parts but oh so boring, long and predictable. I walked to the bar 600 posts ago.

There is definitely a psychology paper to be written on the various types of thread personas we have in here.

Said Monday for weeks! Hopefully it's tomorrow it concludes, this thread felt like getting the tube but ending up on the replacement bus service at times.

Seems like it was all about Pogba's holiday all along. Everything was postponed until his holiday was over.
I guess everyone got what they wanted, at the end. Only, perhaps, Mourinho would have preferred to have him join up with the squad earlier

Based on what though? By all reports, he wants to come here. I don't dispute the pull of Madrid, I do however dispute the idea that there is NO circumstance whatsoever where any player would favour United over Madrid. Obviously rubbish.

What nature of the deal?

There's no way a transfer agreement and player contract get signed without a medical having taken place.
Sorry, meant "particularity" of the deal and not nature, what I meant is how complex it seems to have been to draft. It doesn't seem totally impossible to me that they would have included a suspensive condition clause in the agreement, seen it done for deals of higher value (not football players transfers but commercial deals). Why are you so adamant they wouldn't have signed the agreement without the medical taking place beforehand?

Signing somebody that needs multiple "confirmed" medicals is a worrying sign :p

Would you say Emerson, Lake and Palmer?

As much as this transfer excites me, I find it hard to focus on knowing we re playing Leicester today. I really want us to win that game. Perfect opportunity to make a statement. Announcing Pogba would be the proverbial cherry on top.

Because there's no reason for it.

It would be a colossal waste of time and money to get the lawyers to draft an additional clause to an agreement along the lines you suggest when they can just not do that and hold the medical test first.

It's not like we're dealing with any kind of deadline here.

That's true. Hope we smash them and lay down a marker.
