Johnno, the oldest and bestest United fan in the land

JohnnoWhite said:
Tony FFS and I do mean FFS what has our game and our club degenerated into when you offer a "defence" comment like this over the total nonsense attached to this Pogba Saga? Sick to fecking death of it already - and the season's not even started!
Spot on.

Best United fan on this site...and best type of United fan too - one who despises every aspect of everyone and everything to do with the club.

So the best type of United fan is one like Johnno, who is a closet Liverpool fan and actually hates everything about United and wishes we could be more like Liverpool.

RAWKites never cease to amaze (nor to amuse) me.

The media's favourite twat, managing the media's favourite gang of twats. Entire rainforests will be torn down to provide the paper for the blizzard of bullshit we'll have to read about him.

The mindgames, the tantrums, the vandettas, the classlessness, the tedium of another season of that twat being indulged by everyone. All that, multiplied by a million because he's now managing every journo's favourite PLC.

FFS.
Not a happy bunny, this one.

Definitely the go to 'post man' is Johnno, he always delivers, innit?  .

But then again, with a lot of them overegging the pudding(ness) in a bid to be quoted by us. It's good to know the old favourites can still be relied upon, the miserable old git

I'm off to look if he said anything in response to this, what would you say, 'harsh but fair' assessment

(as a Utd fan but...) one who despises every aspect of everyone and everything to do with the club.

Oh yes, :D

Err, no he doesn't! But he certainly does despise the global embarrassment and the nauseating commercialisation which has dragged the football club I have followed for almost 65 years not merely into the gutter but rather into the bastard sewers. Matt must be turning in his grave for the obscenities being wreaked on his legacy. Shame on all associated with this fecking disgusting shite.

Now fair play, this is genuinely very funny, imo

I've just come back from a few days down in Portugal, where they're naturally delighted with their National team's victory in the Euros.
So they're all too happy to talk football and almost anything related to it. Almost anything.

The mood consistently darkened whenever I mentioned Maureen's name. There were some choice English phrases and a few that I understand through conversational Spanish, but I'm not really able to do anything other than get by in Portuguese and this one phrase was repeated again and again by almost everyone I spoke to about him.
In the end it kind of became comical. Young and old alike, right across the social strata would respond the same way as soon as I mentioned the word 'Mourhino'....

"Que horrível, estacionamento para ônibus , casaco merda de um homem que ele é! "

Can anyone help me out with a translation please?

I'm actually impressed that he could spell out on Google translate what those people were saying, despite not understanding what they said.

There's a poster claiming he visited Portugal and when conversing about Mourinho heard this one phrase over and over again.
He's looking for help to translate it.
Now, apart from making us think the Portugeese are robots who repeat similar phrases to the same questions,it's the fact he was able to remember it, with the correct spelling, from memory, is a bit odd.
Didn't even run it through google translste as normal people would.

Que horrível, estacionamento para ônibus , casaco merda de um homem que ele é! "

All from memory in a language he doesn't understand. Some ear that lad has..
It's almost as if he's lying for some reason.

Havent gone in Rawk in a while but had a look today... holy feck are they infuriated about mourinho :lol: Absolutely love how much he gets under their skin. Everything is just so aggressive in that United thread and you can feel how pissed off yhey all are about our signings and manager. Plus that jonno guy who pretends hes some old United fan but then just criticizes everything and goes like "not the united way, sir matt would never blah blah blah". Almost definitely some 20 year old liverpool fan who has nothing better to do with his life then try and look like a United fan going against the club.

Not entirely a surprise though they are so pissed off. Mourinho hasloved throwing jibes at them for ages, and theyve hated him as much as Fergie basically, so him being here and already throwing in a few shots only makes them more angry

I doubt the Portuguese use the term "shit coat" more likely he's used Google translate

jonnowhite is a bit of a bellend, obviously a spoof account, but dragging Sir Matt into it is beyond a joke, he was a truly great man, so feck them.

What he thought the United way was is simply one word. Winning. He changed English football by forcing the FA to allow United into the European Cup. He was forward thinking and embraced modernity in the sport. If anyone would understand how United is today, and why it has to be for success, it would be Sir Matt Busby, his entire career at the club was pushing boundaries to win.

As I said a while ago.
Johnno is a real United fan (or was). I used to be on a very small football forum with him years ago - small enough where a lot of the folks would get together for an annual dinner usually at the last home game of the season. I never actually got to the dinner myself (living in the US) but have met people who did and who got to know Johnno quite well. According to the folks I have talked to Johnno has indeed followed United from the 50s and since (according to other older forum members) the Manchester United - Liverpool rivalry was nowhere near as bad back then I think that is why he can get on RAWK and say what he does. I am told that after Munich Liverpool were one of the first clubs to offer their condolences and come in with offers of help. Some people have long memories and don't forget things like that. In recent times I think Johnno has actually gone over the top and seems to have developed somewhat of a Stockholm syndrome as far as all things United are concerned. However to reiterate he really is a guy in his 60s (maybe 70s now) who back in the day was a staunch Manchester United fan.

Everything johnno says is over the top, and he doesn't sound that old either. I always laugh whenever he mentions he supported the club for 65 years. I think these days he's just happy to be a parody.

Gawd, any old twit can come out with the 'things were better in my day' crap; hell, I've done it myself, while moaning about the shrinking size of chocolate bars, dagnabbit.

I'm sorry but i don't believe Johnno is a real Utd fan. He's never said anything positive about us and all his posts come off like a Liverpool fan taking the piss.

Exactly. Like someone said here, not a word about us winning FA cup but lot about watching Europa league finals.

It's so obvious he is a Liverpool fan.

You see, it was him who started with the little brown envelopes and an FA conspiracy. SAF was just continuing the good work.

It's just hard to imagine a 326 year old United stalwart spending his free time on RAWK of all forums.

Its the way Johnno always puts down Utd but praises Liverpool in the same posts. I'm sorry but no real Utd fan would do that, even a 116yo senile one.

It's alright, Johnno wont be a United fan for much longer;
Like I said the other week in another thread now locked off, I am done with following United from the moment Shitface takes the seat - so I imagine it's matter of just days now.

Maybe now he can accept that offer from another RAWKer about becoming a Liverpool fan that he had to turn down before;
As genuinely gracious and well-intentioned as your tongue-in-cheek invitation certainly is mate, and as much as I respect Liverpool FC, their own visionary managers and their fans for all their achievements this past 40-odd years (and in a lot of the years before I was born too let's not forget that) the plain truth is I am not a born Scouser and could never aspire to being a plassy Scouse. I'm a Manchester-born Busby Babes United fan of 70 so it would be just out of order.

Johnno is still of the mindset of a young Duncan Edwards cycling to the game on his bike, chaining it up outside the ground, playing for United and then cycling home. True story by the way.

From Tom Clare: Simply the Best.
He was such a wonderful young boy. In those days, United players used to make their own way to the ground for home games. Duncan used to have an old Raleigh bicycle, and this was his mode of transport for getting to and from the ground. I would stand on the railway bridge and wait for him as he would come wheeling down what was then Warwick Road (now Sir Matt Busby Way). Once across the bridge he would turn left and free-wheel down to the old Ticket Office, with a stream of kids (me included) chasing after him. He would alight from his bicycle, prop it up against his leg, get all the kids to line up in front of him, and he would stand there signing all the books and bits of paper before finally, taking a piece of string out of his pocket, he would secure the bike to a drain pipe, and disappear inside the door to the old ticket office and then on into the dressing room. It was the same ritual in reverse after the game - out he would come, line up the kids once more, sign every book and bit of paper before untying the bike, climb aboard it, and then he was off, back up Warwick Road, and on to his digs in Stretford.

Tom (author of "Forever a Babe") was also on the small forum I referred to earlier.

Objectively they've had a good transfer window. Probably good to enough to finish in the top 4
Whilst this post is fair (I don't think we'll win the league but we'll definitely finish in the top 3), can you imagine if Liverpool had signed Zlatan, Pogba, Mkhitaryan and Bailly in one window?! They'd be celebrating the league and cup double before a ball was kicked.

The hypocrisy is something else on there. They're not self aware in any way, shape or form are they?

I did, pretty sure it's in this thread (maybe last year's). Other people found stuff too.

As I said a while ago.
Identify theft?

Nah, while he may have been a fan once, he's certainly not now, as he freely admits every week. You haven't got to be too old to know about the positives between the two clubs (Liverpool after Munich, SAF after Hillsborough) - I don't hate Liverpool but wouldn't carry on the way Johnno does. The game and the circus around it has changed a lot, for the worse in my opinion, but he's very one-eyed in criticising the antics of United.
