He's getting better and better. It seems that £89m money might become a bargain soon. But that's probably because the influence of Carrick in midfield to support him.

I find it funny people are still underwhelmed by him, if even half the chances were put away or other players in the team were playing at his level we would be cruising . Love watching him.

Carrick gets the best out of him. Replacing Carrick will be our number 1 priority next summer along with a right winger and centre back.

Again that's great, and also points out the problem with judging players solely on stats. Having watched him myself, he seems to turn up against the bottom sides or weak opposition and minimal impact in the big games or against better opposition.
True, but there are a lot more weak sides we face than top sides and it's not as if we have covered ourselves in glory when facing them in the last 3 Seasons.

Where have you got his wages from, any credible source? Not that it'd surprise me to see the figure be right given how much we paid to get him and the demand for his signature but I've found it hard to take the wages for any player reported in the media seriously.

Btw, a Pogba will almost always earn more than a De Gea. Similarly, a Neymar would earn more than a Pogba if he were to sign for us. No real surprise there.
De Gea is the highest paid goalkeeper in the world FFS. Even Nueur is 'only' on 110k and Hart is on 120k. De Gea is on 200! Pogba is already world class. We're only 12 games into the season and the manager clearly still doesn't know the team's best 11 and how to get the best out of Pogba but he's slowly getting there
I got it from a report stating United have the highest wage bill. I think it was posted here as well.

De Gea 's wages are not the point here. Mata earns less than half what Pogba does. Is that justifiable?

What disappoints me is I expected Pogba to be the engine of the team, which means contributing equally in defence. That is the kind of midfielder we should've got to lend much-needed balance in the middle.

For now, he's an attacking midfielder, same as Mata. Even his workrate is comparable to Mata. Given our investment in him, which makes him virtually undroppable, Mourinho will have to play a deep midfielder alongwith him and demand more defensively from the left winger. I don't know about you but I don't think Martial, who is a forward, deserves that, especially after the previous season.

I am willing to go out on a limb and say that Mourinho does not know his best eleven, simply because he is not getting the balance he expected with Pogba in the team. World-class players adapt to the needs of the team and find a way to excel. Pogba is not doing that at the moment.

Unless you have something conclusive that shows he's not following instructions from the manager, your complain with him is that he's doing what Mourinho asks him to do and playing the way he's always played while being among our top earners. Think you'll find it tough to find others who blame him alongside you.

Mourinho, in my opinion, is trying to work a way to maintain the defensive balance of the team while letting Pogba operate in a free role. Solving the situation becomes much easier if Pogba accepts his fair share of defensive work as part of the job!

It's not like he's not capable of it. He's played for 4 years in one of the most defensively astute teams. I'm pretty sure he can do it without sacrificing his role in attack. We need to look no further than Frank Lampard and his role in Mourinho's Chelsea to understand that.

To say that he should just concentrate on attack is pampering him. I mean, if Iniesta can do it for Neymar, why not Pogba?

Again, do you have anything conclusive which says that pogba has refused to share his part of the defensive workload? If no, then we're back to him doing what's asked of him. What are you blaming him for then?

I get your point. Pogba cannot be blamed for something he hasn't been asked to do.

On the other hand, it's blatantly obvious that United's left side is leaking goals. We conceded goals against Watford, Stoke and Chelsea because Pogba was switched off defensively. I can actually remember a Geoff Cameron chance where his tracking back was truly appalling.

The one match where we admirably kept a clean sheet was against Liverpool, in which both Young and Fellaini started. Surely Mourinho must have noted that?!

If he is indeed following instructions playing like this, what is he doing in the 8 or, against weaker opposition, 6 role? I don't remember any Mourinho teams where the central midfielder was taking such luxuries.

I'm sorry, but something doesn't add up here. Either Pogba is not fulfilling his defensive duties or Mourinho wants either Rashford or Martial on the left wing to cover for him. Frankly, I don't know which is more worrying.

Can't believe some doubt this guy. He's some player and still only 23.

His vision when passing the ball through the centre of the opposition defence is immaculate. He can see passes very, very few others can.

He's brilliant. I just wish we had more players of the same level ahead of him.

He's looked a lot fitter in the last 4 weeks or so, plus the confidence from his goals has helped him settle.

Hopefully it's just be beginning

I haven't seen a more creative CM in ages. He creates a ridiculous amount of chances. It's embarrassing how he hardly has any assists.

What a player

Just imagine his performances when the platform is higher for him to succeed and he's only 23.

Stick him in the middle of City or Barca or Real and he'd be raking in the assists. I really hope we overhaul our attack in the summer so we get the full benefit of Pogba.

Sometimes it's like he's playing against boys today, just shrugging people off and taking the ball

Had some of his assists been scored, it'd have been something. I'm not saying this because of stats numbers but some of his passes as assist are just majestic and gorgeous to watch.

He's lethal in that final third with his passing.

Reminded me of Scholes, the way he has played today. Long may it continue.

He's been largely very good today. At times I've thought of him as rather sluggish, but he is actually rapid when he decides to be, especially with the ball at his feet.

He's like the Rio of midfielders, such a complete player. A great performance, once again!

Fast - he needs a couple of yards, but he is surprisingly nimble and agile for such a big lad. His passing is most impressive though - amazing long range passing, and his short passing looks so effortless it is ridiculous.
I think he's more quick tbh

Now that he's fully fit you see his strength shining through every game. Feyenoord players bouncing off him including Kuyt, happened to Coquelin 3 times against Arsenal.

Maybe, but he can look downright sluggish running without the ball, but not today. Today he looked like he gave a shit for the full 90 - very encouraging. His speed is just a bonus as his game is so rounded. I've been skeptical towards him, but his last couple of matches has been very good.
