Yeah the key stat there is the 8 games and 720 minutes to 30 and 2700.
Last night too, every time he plays in fact. We were lucky the guy was slow off the mark when he spilt it in front of him. Routine save he knocked with his knee, we were lucky it wasn't on better target because as far as Romero knew it was past him. He scares the life out of me.Based on what? Apart from the Swansea game last year I can't really remember him making an error but I can remember lots of really good saves. Add to the fact the bloke is Argentina's No.1 and we are hardly talking about a run-of-the-mill back up goalkeeper
I had considered that but he no longer plays for us so that would just plain silly!Add O'shea to the poll to make it accurate then.
Ed should re-sign him then.I had considered that but he no longer plays for us so that would just plain silly!
But De Gea made mistakes in consecutive matches. If we were in the final against a very tough opponent then I can see this being a discussion, but it's pretty harsh to drop him for the semis when the goal we conceded wasn't even his fault.Would be absolutely ridiculous to play Romero, he has an error in him and you can't afford that at this stage
If Romero is our first choice keeper next season we'll have bigger problems than him being pissed off.Plus we dont want to p*ss him off. Could well be that next season he is here and the other one not
One of the staggering Caf narratives that will never make any sense no matter who hard you try to understand it. De Gea could have done better for Jagielka's goal the other week and it's genuinely altered the mindset of swathes of fans. So much so that in the PFA thread there was bizarre surprise that his peers - yet again - quite rightly decided he was still (duh) the best goalkeeper in the country. Jordan fecking Pickford, or someone...Leaving aside the question of whether it's fair or not, since when has the consensus become that DDG hasn't been good this season this season? VDS had plenty of these seasons where he wasn't making save after save and he was considered world class.
Yep. It's a joke. One of the staggering Caf narratives that will never make any sense no matter who hard you try to understand it. De Gea has already played in the Europa League though. He hasn't played every game as it is so no decision was made that Romero plays Europa League games. He just happens to have been selected at times.First of all I think if you make the decision that Romero plays EL, you can not just take that away from him when things start to become interesting. It shows a complete lack of trust to your player and I don't think he will want to remain at a club that has a complete lack of trust in him.
Secondly, Imagine dropping Romero for Dave and then Dave playing a really bad game and costing us the EL. Where do you go from there ?
Unless Jose feels that Romero is a liability at the back and will cost us points, I don't think he should just replace him with DDG because the stakes are higher for the club. Not unless a situation like this has been anticipated and discussed with Romero well beforehand.
