It's be some cheek from Rooney given he's been out loads with bits of injuries.

Would you or anybody else have interpreted their frustrated reactions as displeasure with the injured player prior this recent notion that some of out players are too soft? I don't ever recall it being said before.
I've no idea how I'd respond to a hypothetical scenario. I can only tell you what this one looked like to me.

Well have you ever felt a United player is annoyed at another player for being injured before?

I know injuries are annoying but do we have to demand we sell a player every time it happens. This was always going to be a stop start season for form and fitness after such a bad leg break
Good post.

Let's see what happens next season. Our defence is fine as we concede relatively few goals. Maybe Shaw forces his way in or perhaps Mourinho remains unconvinced, in which case Shaw will leave but at least he'll have had a fair chance.

Shaw has qualities and will be here next season unless someone's prepared to give us back what we paid for him...
I doubt anybody would pay £30M for Shaw. £15M-£20M would be about right.
Although he isn't particularly good (contrary to what MUFC fans stated, who saw him as the best LB in the World), he is still young, so may yet improve to be decent.
I don't ever expect him to be a top LB, but for a mid-bottom EPL team, I think he can be a first team regular. His injury situation is worrying, though; in 3 seasons, he has played very few games for us, which is bad luck, I guess.

Given our problems with injured defenders, I'd much rather we bring in a LB who is in his absolute prime. In 3 seasons, we have never been able to rely on Shaw and it would be folly to expect him to play any more than 15 league games per season. He may though, be used as a squad player to give our No.1 LB, a rest.

Oh my, that sounds ominous. Shaw better bash his own head or something to make sure he has a big injury.
I don't think the problem is him getting injured in today's game.
I think the problem is that Shaw has not played many games for 3 seasons. Today's new injury may well be the straw which broke the camel's back.

Shaw did say that he would prove Jose wrong...well, I think he is proving Jose right. I've noticed a pattern: he has 1-2 good games, where he shows good intent/fight. Then he follows it up by either playing badly or getting injured, which results in him missing the next 5-10 games.

Not that I can immediately recall.
For the first time ever you think a player is openly annoyed on the pitch with another player for overreacting to a knock just a week after Jose made the same complaint.

That seems like too big a coincidence to me. The manager has got us all questioning a group of players now.

Yea Jose brainwashed me into seeing things.

Or, you know, that's just how it looked.

Rooney and Carrick are wise to him; off to the player's lounge to attack the buffet before anyone else gets in.

His ceiling has massively lowered in my opinion.

I was going to say Leighton Baines level but realised he doesn't have a decent delivery on him at all so I'd posit somewhat lower than him.

I think there is a chance that Jose will lose the dressing room if he continues with his public criticism of players.
At this point (not talking about any players in specific now), it might not be a bad thing. Makes it easier to address it in the summer and clear out the whole lot of them.

I'll be honest it did have the look of a fake limp about it, to me.

Whether it was, or not, it's not the kind of thing that would usually cross my mind and I have no agenda either way.

Sounds ominous from Jose anyway.

Some of you are losing the plot. A fake limp?

What is this sudden epidemic we have of players faking injury. When did it start?

Usually it's not really an issue but let's be honest it's an unusual situation

So you also think they were directly annoyed with Shaw?
Rooney certainly went over and asked him, then turned round with a disgusted look on his face. Might have been more at the situation than Luke personally though.

I don't in any way believe it to be Shaw faking injuries, my issue is more with having too many injury prone players in the squad.

One of high quality, ok. Apart from lacking quality for some, we have Shaw, Smalling, Jones & Rooney are all injury prone, and we have a lot of other low-quality squad players... We honestly should focus on improving the quality of the first team players, both 1st and 2nd choices.
Bad but bloated squad with a few quality players.

 Mourinho has warped some of you lot something rotten.

Shaw has hobbled off injured and already armchair physicians-come-psychologists are sure that this is a product of mental weakness, or another one of Mourinho's buzzword phrases this season. Shaw has spoken to the team doctor and a decision has been made to take him off. At this point that's all we know. Somehow, and I know it's crazy, I can only conclude that he is genuinely injured.
Spot on.

I'd be as certain as can be that's the case.

I'm pretty sure we all at home had the exact same expressions on our faces. Pissed off that yet another defender is injured.

Exactly this!

Some of the people on here and the guessing games being played, are laughable!

And not only that, but considering the problems and bad luck Shaw has had with his leg break along with the public flogging this year, I think everyone is hopeful he can recover form and hit the heights we believe(d) he could reach another injury sets him back and is disappointing for all concerned.

I just can't see how we can go into next season having him as our number one left back.
He has age on his side, but he's always injured. Next season he should be our second left back, until he can prove he can stay fit.

Pathetic comments from Mourinho today. Shaw would have gone off with the physio/doctor's advice so what was the need for the sarcastic comments at his own player.
Did they run some diagnostics on him? They go by his word and nothing else. He tells them whether he is too sore to carry.

It was weird as he was coming off, he looked over like I think I'll try to carry on. But they took him off.

Everything was reluctant.

However if he's come off due to a niggle and hasn't caused any major problems, what's the issue? If he carries on he may well tear a muscle if it's muscular.

Really disappointing one for the lad.

I get that we can't have someone so unreliable as a first choice, but I don't quite understand the ire people show towards him.
If you get an injury, it'd be more selfish to carry on and cost your team surely?

We're going to have to buy in this position though. We can't rely on Shaw as he can't play more than 2/3 games in a row, and a mix of Darmian who is breathtakingly average, and Young who despite doing a decent job should only be last choice material.

Diagnostics?
What like plug him into a machine and see what it reckons is up?

Does anyone know what injury he has? I hope it's just a niggle. It goes without saying that we do need him, with everyone dropping like flies

That's my point. When the medics come on the field, they go by what the players says is wrong. Ergo, it's not the medics decision but the players.

Did anybody notice what the physios been testing out with him? As in, knee, thigh, shin? Was it some muscle problem, some twist, impact injury? It was weird as feck.

Maybe he was just tired because he's fat and he needed to sit.lol
