They could have come out and said they didnt think the asking price was fair and they wouldnt get bullied into paying over the odds. That would have been better than this nonsense..

Personally, I've never been a fan of Romelu due to some serious flaws in his game and said on this very forum that an idea of him coming to CFC doesn't really excite me. The last thing a player will look at when joining a club is his childhood club being what. They only choose what will benefit them the most.

Well, the market has changed dramatically in the last couple of years especially in the PL with the TV deal. The thing Lukaku has going for him is the ability to hit the back of the net. Given he's a striker, that's always going to make him desirable despite some technical deficiencies especially when he's young and will improve.

I don't think us wanting him or Morata has anything to do with the failure to land Greizmann either. I think the plan was always to get Greizmann to play behind a striker and not as the striker which means we were always going to be in the market for a striker. Fully expect us to go balls deep for him again in the summer to play alongside Lukaku or whoever we get.
