Fellaini has undergone further scans in a bid to get to the root of the problem but, so far, the injury remains a mystery. And that has left Mourinho and United's medical staff unable to put a timescale on his return to action.

Man city account: who is that player in the fog.
Fan: Fellaini.
Man city account: we are asking about a football player.

Could really do with him right now. By no means a fan favourite but he’s always up for the fight in games and a better option next to Matic over Herrera.

We need him.

We seem to be able to keep the ball better with him which is weird as many people say we resort to archaic tactics with Fellaini.

I think you would have taken the three points from Leicester with him on the pitch.

That’s a myth. I think Lukaku plays better with Mkhitaryan on the pitch too. As much as I think we should be replacing him.

I agree, but not specifically with Mkhitaryan. We play a lot more fluid without Fellaini and that's not just an opinion, it's a fact when looking at our shape in games.

The Belgian can be very effective and helpful in certain situations, making him the perfect squad player but it seems he values himself as a starter and also expect a very high salary, which isn't something the club should cater to, in my opinion.

Thanks for all the good moments and crucial goals, but we need to move on and look at players that can provide more dynamism in the midfield area. We have McTominay, Pereira and even Fosu-Mensah there to develope, but due to the unexplainable regression of Herrera and the imminent departure of Fellaini, we probably need to look for a new midfielder again in the summer as Matic and Pogba will not suffice there when we have around 55-60 matches a season.

Nainggolan and Vidal would be my favoured choices. But it looks like it’ll be Goretzka or Savic. I haven’t seen much of either of those guys but I hope they’re not having a “Krychowiak” season like he had before his big move to PSG. I remember everyone wanting him here and Now he plays for West Brom.

Vidal? Really? he is done and has attitude problems and old, Nainggolan wont leave Roma.

I think the Big man wants extra money to make it worth staying and being boo'ed by his own fans no matter how he plays.

A few now getting that we need him to play or be involved he helps the team by doing the stuff people find un-glamours.

He would never shy out of a tackle or 50/50 but i suppose your not a footballer these days unless you look like a model and have hair that is pc correct...

You dont know what you got till its gone...and we could use him right now and he only has an injury.

Who the feck does he think he is, He should be on his hands and knees to be playing for a club like United, Not holding us to ransom over contract, He can go as far as I'm concerned, He's out of contract at the end of the season anyway.

He is a professional who wants to get the best possible salary. I can say only positive things about Fellaini's time and conduct here. We should have our own policy and and draw a line what is acceptable and what not for the club's long term future.

Totally agreed re his character. He has been a fantastic employee, given the criticism his limited skill set has been subjected to along with the utter turbulence at the club during his time.

I hope he stays.

I hope he's back soon, we can't seem to defend an aerial into our box without him.

Hope he doesn't leave in January!

As unpopular as it might be: United's results have been S***T since he isn't available!

I am not a Fellaini hater but when he is out people here make him out to be our saviour.

He would not have made a difference to any of our draws or loses!

 You do realize this is professional football. These clubs are like jobs/careers for these players. Everyone is negotiating behind the scenes for a new deal/better deal.

Like it or not, the way we play we miss him at both ends of the pitch.

We miss him on both ends. We are so shite and play such a boring style that we really miss a player like him offensively and defensively

If we are that shite that we are missing Fellaini serious questions need to be asked.

Get him to f*ck after those comments.

One of Young’s crosses would have found his head at the death against City & Burnley. Opposing managers always need to change tactics to cope with Fellaini.

He may not be good on the ball but he’s a threat at setpieces/direct football. In this league, you don’t have to be necessarily good with the ball to win games as Sean Dyche’s team is proving.

We’ve missed Fellaini!!!

Reports that we offered him £150k but he is holding out for £170k.:nervous: Shocking if true.

Should sell him to Moyes for £5m next month and get someone new.

Who do the fans who've regularly derided and insulted him during his time at the club think they are?
He's not holding the club to ransom, he's looking for the best deal for him, just as Keane,, Giggs and many other United legends did before him. This will probably be his last chance to earn some serious cash. He's never going to be an automatic starter for us, so why are you so offended that he might get a better deal elsewhere?
All I can say about him, is despite his limitations as a player, he's never given anything other than 100% for the team.

If that's the case then he'll sign eventually.

No disrespect to Burnley, but we cannot be a big club if we are thinking of having some players in the team just on their set piece abilities. Being good with set pieces is a bonus or one of the abilities and should not be the main criteria for selecting a player in the team.

This club's transfer strategy is beyond the joke, Fellaini tied to £150k a week  - yes he can be useful sometimes but if we indeed enter into agreement anywhere close to that amount we'll deserve everything that is to follow. What happens when Jose eventually leaves us and lets be honest Fellaini not every manager's cup of tea, how do we find him a buyer at those rates? Shortermism at its finest if it to happen.
