No seriously, it was on target!

Anyhow, congratulations to England, fully deserved on the whole. You've consistently played the brand of cricket that befits the ODI format and I hope you continue to do so.

Respect for NZ but they lacked a superstar like Stokes to turn games.

From an Indian POV, we had the tools to play a far better brand of cricket too. I really hope there's a rethink on that, and it's possible given the talent coming through.

Football season can't start soon enough
I know, I was only messing. It was just one of those weird moments.

Hey @Adnan remember that time we won the Cricket World Cup in arguably the greatest final ever and one of the greatest ODI matches?

Yeah good times man.

Why so bitter Indian fans? Is it because we have two players of Pakistani heritage playing for us?

Some of the venom spewed by some on here towards my country is actually baffling. We won the world cup and it's great seeing you pricks cry over it.
You must be really obsessed to think that's the reason

Stokes made his own luck with that dive! Tremendous effort.

Also, I think englands multiculturalism should be applauded. It's been one of the most welcoming nation till recent times which is what won them the world cup. Fair play.
Exactly, our inclusiveness should be an example to the world that hate and racism is not the future. You win more with love...like cricket world championships for example.

To be fair, it's only a couple of Indian fans on here embarrassing themselves.

Most of the other Indian fans have been fine.
Really? It feels like a lot more than a few. You have more than a few on here who can dish it out but equally can't take it.

Shakib was the best player at this tournament easily. Starc 2nd.
Shakib is a great shout actually, fantastic with bat and ball. Guess his team lost too many games to be considered.

Two Indian chefs I used to work with in Australia have messaged me this evening absolutely glowing about the match and wishing me congratulations while heaping praise over this English side. This bitterness isn’t wide spread, it’s just a couple of grumpy gits.

I've been reading/following the thread and some Indian fans have been belittling the England team for weeks now.

Is it hard for Indians to be gracious in defeat?

But I'm loving the saltiness whilst your stars will be landing back in India after failing to chase a target of 239..

Yeah, it's just a daft minority.

I totally get wanting New Zealand to win, if England went out early I'd have supported them too.

But calling England flukes or cheats as some Indians have is just laughable.

Several Indians I play badminton with have been generous in their praise in our chat. I'm sure when I see them this evening they will be gracious too. There are just people who are cnuts, it's nothing to do with ethnicity/nationality whatever.

Yup, the rest of Europe can take a lesson from it. It's weird that all the posters against it are making the rights argument for them.

I get the impression the people most annoyed by England winning are the Indian fans from England. Could be wrong here mind you.

Yes, some of us are salty and lacking in graciousness following our exit. Poor behavior certainly.

But to insinuate that the reason behind it is because England have Pakistani heritage players shows how obsessed you are:lol:

With the greatest respect you're just showing that you don't have the slightest clue about the issue you've interjected yourself into, but ok.

But I'm glad that you're here to tell us what is and isn't racist and we've got the issue sorted now. Glad to have it all solved, and I'll be sure to let the world know so we can all save some time in future.
And there's the standard response.

Oh the hypocrisy. You've just told me what I do and don't understand on the matter, after telling the other poster that, despite the perfectly reasonable explanation that clarifies his reasoning, he's actually just racist, deep down.

Not sure how seriously people watch t20's but this superover tiebreaker being boundaries has been there for the last decade and wasn't created today . Also in 1999 Aus went to the finals because they had won the super six game Vs Saffers . England had beaten NZ in the group stages , finished above them in the table. NZ obviously knew that they needed 16 to win . England lost 2 wickets at the end with 3 needed off 2 , if wickets had been the deciding factor they would have played it in a different way .

Ayush are you seriously telling me england tried to draw that game and take it to superover on purpose? Or when stokes was batting he was thinking feck winning the game, must hit fours so we can win it if we draw then there is a super over and we draw again.

Perhaps if it's a standard response you get you should question why you keep getting that response?
