Apart from being a very shit footballer, he's also a little coward. He hides to not get exposed too much with the ball at his feet, the fair criticism on social media got to his head, now he knows the fans are paying more attention, so he fears the fecking ball. No talent, no mentality required, nothing. If this guy get a new contract I maybe stick just with NBA, NFL and MMA. His highlights today at 02:10 and 38:20 @GifLord, let's try to laugh at least.
I've been enjoying the US sports more than ever the last 18 months, and I find myself looking forward to NFL Sunday's much more than United games these days.

Nice to see the youth prospect get a few more minutes under his belt. It's natural for there to be a few inconsistencies as the young buck sets about learning his craft. But in a few years we're gonna have some player on our hands!

I'm starting to think he actively avoids trying to get on the ball. He basically has a free role FFS.

You give a free role to the likes of Cantona and

If you ask me to sum up a Lingard performance, that was it. I know he played but I can't think of a single thing he did aside from the slightly harsh foul against him when he made the sliding tackle.

He has been nothing short of atrocious. Time is up. No more game time for him and Mata, they have had their chances. This guy clearly haven't taken to the task of responsibility of first team football at such a big club and so naturally he has regressed after getting more and more famous.

No reason to play him at all. I thought he could be useful as a squad-player but I was getting a bit sick of him at the end even as a squad player, and since then he has been one of the first names on the team sheet and he has just been atrocious. No point in collecting squad players. Give his game time to Gomes, sell him in January.

Never seen a player add so little to a team as he is right now. He contributes absolutely nothing.

I went tonight and spent quite a lot of time watching Lingard to see if maybe it’s just the TV cameras that are just unfair to him. Sadly not.

All he actually offers is harrying and pressing. If that’s what we want, why not play Dalot or young in his position. Both are better defenders and both offer more than he does in every other aspect of the game.

Ole needs to wise the feck up and drop this absolute clown. The worst number 10 I have ever seen in a United shirt.

Push Pogba up and play Fred in the middle before it's too late.
The definition of stupidity: keep repeating the same mistakes over and over while expecting different results. Lingard starting as 10. Rashford as our striker. Young taking corners. Rashford taking every freekick. We must be getting a trophy for stupidity, because it’s not funny anymore. I’m not even bothered anymore, I have come to expect the dross we have become.

Astounding what's happened to him and Dele Ali since the World Cup.

I mean he was never a world beater... But he was never this bad

Complete waste every time he starts. Not sure what position he plays and rarely sees the ball. Thoughts of giving him a new contract is madness but then we've done the same with the likes of Jones and Rojo so hardly a surprise.

I’ve never been one to get on board with the over the top criticism of him but my God he’s been terrible for a long time. He’s floating through games contributing nothing at all. Not even decent movement or creating space for others. We don’t have many options but when everyone is playing so poorly then at least try different players.

Not really. He has always been that bad, bar the freakish run from November to Feb in 2018/2019. Bar that season he always got a 5 or 6 goals a season which is crap for a forward playing that regularly, and he has been playing regularly since LVG second season.

Why does he chase the ball so much when he clearly doesn't intend to do anything with it anyway?

But he would pop up with useful contributions and be actually good in games here and there.

At the moment the only thing he'll pop up with is a store.

Looking at the league table, he wouldnt be starting as the number 10 for at least 14 of the teams.
At least...

We can't seriously be considering offering this guy a new contract, can we? It just beggars belief that anyone at the club could see him as being pivotal to our becoming a good club again.

Don’t know why you guys are moaning. Let the kid enjoy his vacation. Fergie used to always give young players a break, I remember giving Ronaldo one.

In 1991 Man Utd centre half Steve Bruce scored 19 goals in all competitions in one season. Our starting RW/SS Jesse Lingard has 17 Premier League goals in his United career. Almost 120 PL games. Just abysmal. And that ratio just gets worse and worse. I know Bruce's tally was quite a feat but it just shows how low the standard has become for our front players.

But Ole said he was good in training leading up to the Arsenal game, stuff like that deosn't turn up in the stat sheet...

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus

I've been closely following him in the last 2 games and it really is an insult to watch what he's doing. His movement is away from play all the time. I've never rated him but he has got worse under Ole, no question about it.

I think i can understand Ole's line of thought in playing a no.10, in principle. He doesn't trust our strikers to get enough goals so he's adding another body in the box. Lingard moves like he's there to feed on scraps in the box, almost like it's tactical instruction that sees him play this way. But at what expense? We're giving up the midfield area in every game. There's 20 to 30 yards between Lingard and Pogba/McTominay, it's not a midfield unit at all, rather 3 individuals playing their own game.

I just can't help but feel that we'd be so much better off with 3 in midfield, 2 of which can venture forward depending on the situation. Get them playing as a unit, progressing play up the pitch together. That's the idea of a midfield.

He's not a great football player but he shouldn't be this bad. Maybe the criticism really has started to affect him.

The manager thinks he is. The English manager thinks that way too. Who the feck are we to judge a player?

He's just in the way. He doesn't actually want the ball. He justifies his existence by aimlessly running around. Playing useless pass and gives in random parts of the field furthering no play at all. His existence in the team is taking pogba away from #10 and fecking over our whole team :lol:

Its a low ebb in form and confidence. His best just isn't that much better.
