Yes, but the data doesn't correlate with consumer behaviour to assume that a drop in subscriber numbers is equal to deaths in absolute numbers. They're suggesting over 8 million people died?!

I would be surprised if afib was the only underlying health condition. Isn't it often present with another? That's my (limited) understanding of it.They might not know. A family member enquired with their GP about increased risk from atrial fibrillation and was told there is none, despite it being present in a quarter of Italian fatalities.
Given Italy’s numbers I think China’s death rate seems too low but 8m would be insane. I suppose we will never know the true figures. They're suggesting over 8 million people died?!
No evidence to say that will do anything. The US sunbelt states are in UK High summer equivalent temperatures. They're still struggling with it.A Spring heatwave might be helpful
It's something that comes with old age. Maybe it's just a coincidence and its other conditions in these elderly patients that's causing the deaths, or maybe it is contributing. Either way, it is still far too early in our understanding of the virus to say that afib is absolutely not a risk factor.I would be surprised if afib was the only underlying health condition. Isn't it often present with another? That's my (limited) understanding of it.
Ah OK. I did jump in half way without reading back so that's my bad. Anyway, I hope it all gets sorted for you swiftly.I'm not saying I'm expecting an exhaustive list. I did, in fairness, make it clear there that I understood that in the timeframe available such things weren't possible!
I am here asking for advice more than anything, cause it's very hard to judge these things when it's yourself. I do appreciate yours.
Cheers, man.Ah OK. I did jump in half way without reading back so that's my bad. Anyway, I hope it all gets sorted for you swiftly.
He’ll always be Christopher Hitchen’s dumb brother.Peter Hitchens is a pseudo-intellectual who mastered looking intelligent by being well spoken and not saying ummmm
Great. So now we have 17000 who die from the flu and another 17000 who die from coronavirus.28,000 people died from flu in 2014/15 in the UK alone. On average 17000 die on average every year in the UK from flu.
Yeah they corrected the figures now. About 8000 cases in the USA todayApparently their (worldometer's) figures are wildly inaccurate for some reason. NY State have announced around 4,800 new cases today, not over 12k. Still represents an increase though.

The thing is though that you have to take the amount of people who get it into account. If 40 % of the global population ends up inflected and 0.05 % of those die then you're still looking at burying 1.5 million people.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/...ight-answer.html?ito=amp_twitter_share-bottom
I don't disagree. Especially with this part towards the end.
This is a Professor of Medicine's opinion. I trust their opinion much more than I trust the opinions of politicians, people in the media and a public in panic mode.
I do wonder how you enforce that. Say if I'm out having a walk to alleviate the boredom, what's stopping me from just saying that I'm going to shop to get some paracetamol or whatever?
The drive-thru queues will be mad right now then.McDonald’s closing all restaurants in UK.
Well the last point says you can go outside as long as you maintain a safe distance from others.I do wonder how you enforce that. Say if I'm out having a walk to alleviate the boredom, what's stopping me from just saying that I'm going to shop to get some paracetamol or whatever?
Sounds like someone trying to be funny to me!Any truth to that whatsapp video claiming that drinking alcohol (having alcohol in the blood), repeals the virus somehow?
Yeah, but that's difficult when it's rammed, eg the pics of the parks today.Well the last point says you can go outside as long as you maintain a safe distance from others.
Wonder if the thundering moron still thinks it's a hoax.Tweet

Well that's not keeping a safe distance so that'll be cause to break it upYeah, but that's difficult when it's rammed, eg the pics of the parks today.
I’ve wondered this. Also in many parts of the UK there simply isn’t enough police to enforce these measures.I do wonder how you enforce that. Say if I'm out having a walk to alleviate the boredom, what's stopping me from just saying that I'm going to shop to get some paracetamol or whatever?
It's the US - they have guns. I can see a story popping up soon - 'I shot him because he was out spreading coronavirus'I do wonder how you enforce that. Say if I'm out having a walk to alleviate the boredom, what's stopping me from just saying that I'm going to shop to get some paracetamol or whatever?
It doesn't work. You have to close the parks or else you have to police them, and that's a waste of police right now.Yeah, but that's difficult when it's rammed, eg the pics of the parks today.
They might not know. A family member enquired with their GP about increased risk from atrial fibrillation and was told there is none, despite it being present in a quarter of Italian fatalities.

Atrial fibrillation is irregular heart beat. It happens because one of the 4 chambers of the heart the Left atrium is enlarged. It can happen at any age. Most common is older age. Can happen in younger age depending on things like high blood pressure and obesity. Fundamentally what happens is the heart becomes stiff due to previous factors mentioned, and consequently the left atrium over the years becomes bigger than should be, and from there causes irregular heart beat. It's something that comes with old age. Maybe it's just a coincidence and its other conditions in these elderly patients that's causing the deaths, or maybe it is contributing. Either way, it is still far too early in our understanding of the virus to say that afib is absolutely not a risk factor.
Why wouldn't they deliver? Wouldn't that be a profitable model for them these days?McDonald’s closing all restaurants in UK.
My guess is given how close the cooking stations are to each other they can't keep workers 2m apartWhy wouldn't they deliver? Wouldn't that be a profitable model for them these days?
Yep.It doesn't work. You have to close the parks or else you have to police them, and that's a waste of police right now.
I'm just wondering, what's with all these companies suddenly getting in massive trouble if business slows down for 1 or 2 months?
And then people have the nerve to criticize poor people for not having emergency funds.
Sorry, I'm probably being irrational but these things get to me.
Reading the actual article, he's not actually calling the existence of it a hoax, merely not understanding the massive fear of it when it's "Only" killed a 100 in the US (at the time) versus 1,700 TB deaths.Wonder if the thundering moron still thinks it's a hoax.
To be fair they should be doing that even without this virus going round.McDonald’s closing all restaurants in UK.
Yeab if people don't call idiots idiots, then idiots will stop being idiotsI know its hard, but the people who you perceive to be acting idiotic need to be treated differently somehow, because it wont get through. It never does when you want something to change but go about it by insulting someone.
"You're an idiot for voting trump" = trump president
"Youre an idiot wanting brexit" = leave wins
" Youre an idiot for not respecting social distancing" = ???
No one hopes to get 100% compliance, that doesn't even happen in China or any of the authoritarian countries. If instead you even get 60-70% compliance, especially among higher risk populations, that is a major win.Yeah, but that's difficult when it's rammed, eg the pics of the parks today.
Unfortunately, Christopher's name became almost wholly associated with a kind of militant born-again atheism and support for the Iraq War.He wouldn’t have had half the career he’s had without his brother associating the Hitchens name with intellect.
I dunno, there is something to be celebrated about McDonalds for the working poor.To be fair they should be doing that even without this virus going round.
We're a mass of contradictions, like all peoples.Honestly, where did this idea that the Brits love freedom and couldn't cope with being ordered around come from? We're famous for queuing and we're the most surveilled country in the world. We love authoritarianism.
That’s why we need the army on the streets with fully loaded SA80 assault rifles to ensure the old dears can get their milk and eggs.I’ve wondered this. Also in many parts of the UK there simply isn’t enough police to enforce these measures.
