He's a good dribbler but he hasn't really showcased that in his first team appearances. I think Rangknick wants him more direct. He's capable of dribbling well, it's been one of his strengths in the youth set-up
Ive watched him on 3 separate occasions and he is yet to showcase any dribbling ability? All ive seen is blistering pace so far.

I’ve not been massively impressed to be honest. Good goal and his run for the goal was good but aside from that he wasn’t great. Like him in u23s

He makes some good off the ball runs, he does a lot of unselfish running.

I don't think you'll see Rashford or Sancho making that run in from the left.

Delighted for the lad. He had a difficult first half, but he worked hard through out the game and he scored the crucial goal from a clever run. He needs to keep playing from here, his confidence will be sky high and he could keep scoring goals if given the chance.

Been talking about the guy for years in the reserves so glad he’s showing it in the first team. Exciting player.

"We can't afford to let James/Martial/Lingard go. Elanga is totally unproven!"

He's such a beast. That's a classic Elanga goal.

Yet you can't really compare him to say James who was pace and nothing else. Elanga is going places here in my opinion. I'm excited to see how he develops under (hopefully) Pochettino or Ten Hag who are both fantastic with youth.

The thing is we haven't even seen his full repertoire yet and some are dismissing him as a pace merchant with no technique. Boy are they in for a surprise!

Have to say I really like the guy. Hardworking and there seems to be enough talent to back it up.

Exciting prospect.

He's like a Martial who has a good attitude, will chase every ball and compete for 50/50s and takes his chances often enough
I don't see the similarity.

He's very much like Rashford however. Or the Rashford of two or three years ago I should say.

Drifted in and out of the game a bit which is to be expected at his age, but he had some excellent moments and took his goal well. He'll get plenty more chances off the back of that game.

he's getting up to the tempo finally. The problem with young players making their step up, is they lack the running power and often seem not up to the speed ans strenght of the game. He showed today that he's been working on his stamina quite a bit and deserved a goal with a trademark run behind and good touch and finish.

I've been saying that before but we found our replacement for James and Lingard longterm, at the very least. He will certainly be better than James and my bet at least have the same impact as Lingard, but at 19, he's got a lot of years development in front of him. And great potential. People saying he's a bad dribbler not sure if they have seen him in youth, he's not exactly gluing the ball to his feet like Sancho but can be as efficient as Rashford with it. Good first touch and quick thinking with it. He seems also dedicated building his body and overall work hard which will take him far.

He will be like Mané, always making tireless run and ruthless sneaky finisher in and around the box.

And so the trend continues....

For every manager we have had, a youth player has profited from it.

Moyes - januzaj
Van gaal - rashford
Mourinho - mctominay
Ole - Greenwood
Ragnick - elanga

So happy for him!

From the time RR put him on against Palace in his first game, it was evident that he was a big fan of Elanga, and since he's been brought into the starting XI, he hasn't let him down. Another promising performance by the lad. Constant pressure, running in behind, taking players on and topped it off with a beautiful goal.

Can't really take him out the team whilst he's performing as he is and fully expect to see him start vs West Ham.

its a bit crazy we kept giving Dan James so many chances with a guy like this waiting to step up

even more so giving Mata any minutes

I know he's not the finished article but he belongs at this level

This a a proper United kind of players, young and talented from the academy, not people signed from Dortmund with big wages and a full belly

Give it two seasons and you’ll be talking about how overrated he is too, don’t worry.

Have to agree with the replies here pointing out his movement, especially compared to the likes of Martial.

That comes down to attitude and willingness to run hard off the ball to pull defenders out of position, even if you might not get the pass

He was a boy when we bought James.
We had the likes of Chong back then.

We didn't give James chances last season. He came in when Greenwood was on a terrible dry spell.

Reminds me a bit of Mane. The direct running.

Took his goal very well tonight.
