Didn't have a great game, passing was a bit off and Leicester looked just as toothless before he came on as they did after. He'll be great for us but let's save the praise for when he has a big game. I'm sure we won't have to wait long.

He was very good but anyone else he was trying to force it to Ronaldo a bit?
Yeah thats pretty much what I think it is. He wanted to give his mate a chance and played a few Bruno type passes. One was very nice and came off though with his left and a cross with his left that was decent too.

I also think he was confident that we can defend with him and McTominay both playing in front of the defence, so he wasnt too concerned if he got us up the pitch but we lost the ball near Leicester's third

He's hardly had time to strike up an understanding with his new teammates. His class is apparent for everyone to see.

EVen for a hard man defensive midfielder, the class and difference in passing was night and day to some of the championship players we have to acommodate for some wicked reason..

I loved how he tried to play it forward so often. That's the mentality we need to take us forward.
Roy Keane used to emphasise how important it was to play the forward ball at every opportunity.

A Manchester United midfield trying every pass with his first touch. Never thought I'd see that day. Some stray passes but that's probably down to this being his first time playing 30 plus minutes with a new team. Other than that, he was very calm on the ball and combined well.

I thought he bought calmness to the team in the second half. Leicester were just starting to look up and after his introduction, we mitigated their attack pretty well. More to come soon once season progresses

50-50 on his passing tonight.

Some gems, some howlers
This. He played some beautiful passes that I haven't seen a deep midfielder play for us in years but also had some sloppy moments.

The good thing is by just having him in there it made us even more solid.

He passes quick and some on here are saying it was bad passing? Wow
Exactly, his short passing in between those lines is great during build up, I noticed quite a few nice passes. He had a few astray passes too but i am sure it will improve. Encouraging signs early on though

His class is very evident. Did have some sloppy passes, but I’m sure that is something that we’ll see less off when he settles into the team.

Surprised to see some people are on his case here.

Was excellent and totally calmed the game down. Just had the 1 bad/sloppy pass but he hasn't played much. Needs to get sharp and that's all that was.

Defensively solid but could have done better with his passing. Leicester lost their way a bit after he came on, before doubling down and targeting our right hand side, where McT, Dalot and Bruno were taking turns to be caught out.

Made some good passes and some good interceptions/blocks. Once he’s fully use to the team he’ll be massive for us this season! Has to start against arsenal, they’ll pose more of a threat to us. Don’t think mctominay will cope with them.

Aye because it went to Leicester a few times in some bad areas

he’ll come good, he’s been here a couple days and played two away fixtures in the prem at a time where we’ve been leading with 10-15 minutes remaining so obviously the opposition has been fired up.
Takes time to adjust to team mates and to get used to the premier league.

You can see he gets when we should be calming it down and moving them about. There was the little period where he just linked stuff up for about 10 passes and then released Malacia (I think) with a simple pass and we were suddenly behind their press.

We still need better CMs though, Eriksen put a shift in and McT was his usual industrious self but we lack control.

Showed calmness on the ball and snuffed out Leicester attacks through the middle. He should start in the next game.

Honestly, he was pretty poor. Passing completion must've been 60%. Lot of stray passes under real no pressure. Early days though, I'm confident he'll be excellent for us.
84% according to sofascore. He got on the ball a fair bit. Mentioned it in the McTominay thread but McTominay only completed 7 more passes than Casemiro tonight.

Thought Casemiro was a bit sloppy tonight but could see his qualities.

If it's true he complained to Ten Hag about not playing him as a centre forward he needs to be dropped same as Maguire and Shaw.

He offered next to nothing through the middle and should not be in the starting 11.
What?

First touch of game pass around the corner and in between the lines to set us off on a attack. Class. Quick passes. Makes it look simple.

Came in, made 3, 4 good passes. Not bad for someone who's supposedly bad at passing. Imposed himself defensively too.

I liked his performance very much. He was calm and composed. Stop watching with such scrutiny, it’s football and mistakes happen all the time.

He showed his class, although a couple of sloppy moments. Him along with the two centre halves behind him will form a strong triangle over the course of the season.

Oh, God. He's so bad and we're stuck with him.

He's very lucky that Maddison wasted that free kick. Lost the ball so cheaply too many times.
Is this your thing now? Shitting on a new signing constantly because you decided he was shite before he kicked a ball for us? Why not take a break from the thread? If your mind‘s made up already (and it clearly is) then there’s nothing to discuss.

Leave the rest of us to analyse his performances, game by game, and allow him a bit of time to settle in a new team/league. He certainly wouldn’t be the first player in his position to take a number of months to get to his best. Loads of good examples. Fabinho at Liverpool the most obvious.

Some sloppy passing but we definitely regained control after he came on and never let it go after that.

We were wobbling for 10 minutes before he came on.

Well, if you are going to judge him based on pass completion then absolutely no comments.

Studio showing his highlights just proves how important he will be for us. Had 4 or 5 interceptions in a relatively short cameo. Great forwards passing as well (and one terrible of course).
