I'm not going to post the same thing again and again, go to this link and read the posts. You will see why the toxic guy's name popped up.

https://www.redcafe.net/threads/erik-ten-hag-manchester-united-manager.470032/page-944#post-30609215
That's a link to this thread? Are you sure everything is OK at home?

I mean, I still don't really know what you are driving at, and you seem too scared to say it because you realise how ridiculous it will make you sound, but I think you might be trying to say that:

A few years ago I probably said some positive stuff about Mourinho (which means that I must be some kind of Mourinho-lover in spite of being a 47 year old man from Rusholme), which you have taken to be proof that I applied double standards when I judged the permanent appointment of Ole to be different in context to the temporary 'dual remit' appointment of Ralf Rangnick, and therefore I am a hypocrite. Is this what you are driving at? And you have judged that the correct place to address this quivering ball of preposterousness is here, on the Erik Ten Hag thread?

Crikey.

How did the ETH thread become ground zero for a Ralf vs Ole vs Mourinho "discussion"?

And Ralf.

EtH is very good at handling press, he doesn't give them easy targets. He has done very good job on and off the pitch.
Ralf is/was not even a manager so we should not waste any time on that clown.

Yeah, that's spot on too.

This is very refreshing considering we had manager who couldn't wait to throw players under the bus to save themselves, wanted all the glory but 0 responsibilities when things went south.

"His body, my brain", "that's why Lukaku" to EtH is a big change.

Yeah ETH is an intelligent and honest (well as honest as you can be in public/in the interviews) man who knows what he is doing and saying. But also honest with the players, in terms of feedback, and honest with himself i.e. running with the players after Brentford defeat, taking responsibility for defeats, etc.
And even when he asks for more players/an improved squad he does it in the right situation with the right words instead of doing it after defeats throwing players under the bus.

The only thing Ralf fans (amazing that those actually exist) give him credit for is about the comment how many players we need(ed). Every bloody team needs players. City mostly keep winning leagues in 2nd gear and still how many players have they signed since Ralf made that comment? How many have Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea signed? Ideally you never stand still. People are acting as if we are the only club who needed players to improve.
This leads me to another ETH comment he recently made (again right words, right time): something along the lines “teams around us signed players in the winter transfer window and will keep improving, we need to do the same”.

And City will be stronger. Look at the league status with City at the top.
Pool, Chelsea, Spur will improve according to United but City will demolish all of us at Etihad.
Either we hope for City off season. 60% it might happen next season. They surely can't win 4 straight titles.
All the smaller teams have way more funds these days: there are no small teams anymore really.

More competition means less points at the top, unless a team has a monstrous season. That was Arsenal until they fell apart.

Do you expect City to improve next season? I don’t, I think they are peaking.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has hailed his ‘resilient’ team as one full of character and personality at our 2022/23 awards evening.
In his opening speech, the Dutchman highlighted belief as the key component to building a winning side.

“Many things are key, but belief that you [can] win the game is the most important,” he said.

“When you show confidence on the pitch and believe in the plan and believe in your colleagues and your team-mates, then you will win.”

He added: “I think we did it [believe] in so many games – but we also dealt with setbacks.

“[This] is a resilient team of character and personality, that are all attributes that you need for a successful season [and] for winning trophies.”

While he believes we’re headed in the right direction, Ten Hag says he wants even more from his team, adding: “Good is not good enough, we have to do better.

“We have seen it before the season, after the start of the season, and then where we came from – we are happy, we are [going] in the right direction, but satisfied? No, we are not.”

While he was aware of the stature of United before arriving at the club last summer, the support of the fans really honed in just how far-reaching our backing is to Ten Hag.

“I noticed when we went on the [preseason] tour in Bangkok, in Melbourne, and everywhere, everyone is supporting you,” he said.

“They are so crazy about Manchester United all over the world.

“The fanbase is huge and that must give you a really strong feeling, and really good feeling, as a player, as a coach, for everyone working for this club.

“So many people supported Manchester United and that gives you a strong feeling, but also you have to take responsibility for that to deliver performances.”

Out of 23 BBC pundits, three had us in the top four. That‘s a bit of perspective.

Why are absolutely any quotes relating to Mason greenwood being deleted? Surely direct quotes from the manager are fine to leave? Seems a bit mental that there's this absolute wall of silence around him here.

Definitely has become a bit odd and heavy-handed at this stage especially after the last legal developements in the matter months ago...

Not even being able to discuss the managers own comments on the subject seems excessive

It’s the policy. I agree with it. My post was deleted even though I didn’t mention name at all. No need to have unnecessary storm here, no? Just be patient.

The Voldemort stuff at some point needs to be discussed. Ten Hag is now discussing it in the media so very soon it needs to not be the taboo it once was.

It's a bit weird that we can't discuss something that our own manager is discussing in the media. I respect the rules but I'm really not getting it with this one at all.

Look mate, what happened between Sassy Colin and those stray dogs is still under investigation and until the court case is over and the pornhub videos are deleted you just need to keep quiet.

Yeah but let's be honest, it's going to be a disaster on the site if that is before the club makes the decision
The majority want to have a sensible discussion surrounding an issue that we feel we need to be able to as supporters show where we stand and what we feel.
Id love to be able to show that I don’t support the club allowing a player back into the fold and see if others share the view so that if there are any at the club reading or considering the views of the fan base that we can say we drew our line in the sand.

But we can’t.

I also would add that I 1000% sympathise with the admins here that it’s an awkward thing to have to manage. But I do think we’re at a point where we need to manage it now. Not bottle it up. And I’m happy to help however I can.

Agreed.

I feel like they are just kicking the can down the road. Its almost inevitable at this point that this topic is going to be discussed and with EtH discussing this in the media it does feel strange not to even comment on that.

Agreed with the majority, what happens IF he is playing for us next season are we still not to mention him, surely time and the fact the charges have been dropped means we can discuss him purely in football terms only

Just start a massive PM conversation about it, invite almost everyone into it.

Like we do with the "Funny, Cool Posters, Unite" one we have going on that everyone apart from, I think, @horsechoker is in.

Well… he was and he wasn’t. Of course, we need massive investment to compete with City. We all could see that and and let’s not call the man a genius for stating the obvious. The fact that Ten Hag was able to win a trophy, make another cup final and get us into 3rd with 200m and one transfer window shows that much of the improvement came from just knowing what the feck you are doing as a manager.
Oh no i agree with you totally. I'm not a Ralf defender because during his tenure our football was god awful.

Hi all, at the moment we are still not allowing any discussion if we can avoid it about that guy. Discussion will likely be allowed in the next couple of weeks but as you can imagine, people on here are silly buggers at time and with lots of things going on at this part of the season (top 4, title challenge, relegation battle etc) it would be a bit of a modding nightmare to have to deal with them all. I imagine discussion will be given the green light post cup final when your season is over and the focus shifts to transfers.

Please tell me you are talking about Ralf Rangnick?

So on topic of the direction he is taking us... I think Ten Hag is trying to build us more along the lines of Klopp style rather than Pep and Arteta. More counter pressing and creating chaos rather than slower, controlled tiki taka.

Yea but Klopp teams normally dominate possession?

We also dominated possession in about half of our games. Liverpool adapted more over the years to be more like Pep and City adapted a bit to be more like Klopp, but city is ultimately still very much more in the control and tiki taka side and Klopp still on the chaos/counter pressing side but dominating through that. That's the goal with us too, but it starts at the back, and you need attackers who can hold the ball under pressure too. We don't have a ball playing GK and our attackers bar Antony are horrible with their backs to goal or under pressure, so it makes sense why we've struggled to do it.

He has to get the signings right this summer to build on this positive season. 1 more final to play. Gutted that we should have been in the final tonight but we can’t dwell on that.

I am fussed much about Europa league given that we achieved top 4 to get into champions league. I know it's a big source of debate here. Hopefully we never play in Europa league again!
