Confidence growing on INEOS side?
Time running out in the week for some sort of announcement.

Not sure about growing, but they have reportedly been pretty confident for a number of weeks now. They have a very experienced M&A team and presumably think that the flexibility of their offer (Glazer family retaining a continuing interest in the club) is a winner.

Whether they are right to be confident, who knows - this whole saga is so painfully protracted that is has just become utterly dull - it is hard to get excited about any aspect of it anymore.

The gate receipts help raise funds for the club and the support at the stadium is obviously a factor in the great home record last season.

Blows my mind how determined people are to be in denial about this. I don't go to OT every week, so my support matters less than someone who does. That's a fact and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. How fragile do you have to be to be bothered about this?!

TV money is what drives growth in football and moves the dial. This is why clubs didn't go bust during corona.

In addition, the PL has been getting more and more expensive to watch abroad and that completely kills the argument that it's easier or cheaper to follow your club abroad, especially given the future direction

It costs nothing on a stream. And if you pay a Tv subscription then you're funding all the PL clubs, not just United. If you subscribe to MUTV then you're paying peanuts compared to tickets to a match. Plus a lot of match-going fans will subscribe to MUTV as well.

There’s no way Darren Fletcher is completely in the dark about what stage the takeover is at. Ten Hag and senior staff are probably aware of what the next step is. I wouldn’t be surprised if Fletcher is his source. Ex-players talk to each other all the time. If I’m Rio, I’d be on Fletchers case every day.
