People are better off doing something else than waste their hate on Mount. His position wasn't necessarily needed, he cost a chunk of the transfer fee. Neither his fault. He's a good and solid player.

I can understand why he was bought. He's quick, he's good at pressing, he's got a good first touch so can play under pressure. It's a type of player EtH wants. He's essentially the DvB replacement, the player we bought from Ajax but didn't get.
I used to think the same but ETH maybe want to shift Bruno out of that midfield role and give it to Mason in long term. I feel Casemiro Mount and Amrabat ( Hannibal or Mainoo) would be much more stable midfield 3. Bruno might get shifted to right side.

I like him. Intelligent, technically strong and pressed exceptionally well. Players like him, Hojlund and Antony are crucial in winning the ball back quickly.

That's one of the most ridiculous comments I have seen on RedCafe.
 he's correct though. Especially when it's not a big, important matches ZZ tends to drift out of matches then come up with some magic to rescue the result.
But when it matters most he showed up and generally was the best player on the pitch

Been a critic of his move here and admittedly haven't been that easy on him, but overall he has at least been pretty decent since his return from injury.

Most of us would've been singing his praises after last game if our backline didn't collapse all the sudden after our 2nd.

He has 0 goals and 1 assist in 5 starts for us as an attacking midfielder.

If this is him playing well, I dread to see him playing badly.
Because as important as goals and assists are they don't really tell you exactly how well a player has been doing.

If he’s contributing more to our play than other midfielders then surely you can see what he brings? Unless we’re simply talking about goals

If you base performances on just those metrics then I suggest you need to find another sport to follow

In two of those games he only played 45 minutes, and he's not just brought in for goals and assists.

He's played 1 match as an attacking midfielder? Usually he's been playing next to Casemiro.

Given his availability form and competition he's got a difficult job getting back in the England side. I think he's rightly been overtaken by Bellingham as being the first choice advanced midfielder and Maddison is probably ahead of him now. I think he'll still go to the Euros but his position isn't safe in a way which Maguire's is due to a lack of options.

Mount was very decent on Tuesday. Perhaps he’s still looking for his niche, but he definitely earned his wages. Concerns about Mason and Bruno are still warranted and it seems to me that it’s Bruno who needs to adapt his game to the manager’s tactics to improve squad performance.

If we continue with the Bruno RW experiment you might as well sack ETH right now because it's never going to be effective. You can't have such a poor dribbler with 0 power or pace occupying a winger spot.

But he is the captain. ETH got one of the biggest decision wrong and now he has to play Bruno regardless of his form.
You cant have a good pressing shape with him in midfield and Bruno is not that good on right side. So basically our freestyle football will continue unless he can coach Rashford and Bruno to maintain shape. With Mount its way easier to do that . I was against his signing as it would mean playing either Mount or Bruno in that position but if it means both will be playing alongside Casemiro, then we will be cut open by average side every game. Only way to play Mount is to pair him with another midfielder who can play as a midfielder rather than free role that Bruno occupies. If we dont see that and rectify, then this season will be very painful

If Højlund played left back for 5 games, would you say "he has 0 goals and 0 assists for us as a striker"?

Mount has played as CM, not CAM.

He just doesn't strike me as the type of guy who's going to be the main man at the roast dinner.

and there isnt anything wrong with that. Too many of our players think this is a one man show where they can just solo off and create/do whatever they want. We need people willing to fit into the team.

I actually think he has been lively in last couple of appearances. Quick one & 2 touch football out of him. Energy levels. Getting involved in attacking plays and getting in to the box.

Has to fall for him soon getting a few goals for us.
At this moment of time I'd rather him over Bruno. Will use the ball better I think.

Get Amrabat in with casemiro and Mount ahead of them.

Other night I thought we looked better in 1st half with midfield of him, Amrabat and Hannibel.

If this is how wide open our defence is with him playing as CM, I dread to think how open it would have been if he played even further up the pitch.

Not sure of the logic here mate.

Are you saying our brave defenders would be more exposed if MM played further forward?

He already plays far too forward for someone playing as CM. Look at the difference when Eriksen came on.
What difference is that? Conceding 2 goals, him having 67% pass completion (lowest of all our players) and losing possession 17 times in the space of 45 minutes? Amazing difference, mate. He had a decent 10 minutes on the pitch.

I would drop Bruno, stick Mount in the hole , move Amrabat next to Casemiro and have Lindeloff play left back with yes, Maguire going CB. The benefit of Amrabat is he can come back to support Maguires pace.

Mount is more tactically disciplined than Bruno, not sloppy and does not moan. Question is, does Hag have the balls to drop his out of form captain. I think not.

contributing of what? i think the standard has dropped so massively that players who run and run are praised while it should be the bare minimum.

Exactly. In the modern game you need players who are able to keep possession while letting the ball circulate and not slow the game down. I was not too keen about the Mount signing but he showed glimpses that he can be one such player.

I get the feeling it’ll take a long time to win some people over, minds are already made up on the basis of a misunderstanding of what kind of player he is and what he might bring us.

Played well the other night. Hopefully more of that and a few goals which he is capable of

He's proved in the past he can be a very good player.
