which is precisely why party politics is dead. People vote tribally like football fans supporting their favourite team.True. He'd have won if he went independent.
With the greatest of respect, you've spent the the past few pages crying your heart out like the most hard-core of hard-core Tories.which is precisely why party politics is dead. People vote tribally like football fans supporting their favourite team.
I believe all Mayoral candidates should run as independents. Based on their own merits, not by whatever party is "flavour of the month"
How is this specific to London? Then on top of that, he's turned London into a fecking cesspit. Lawlessness, knife crime, gang culture, divisions and lack of social cohesion, expensive transport.
it's hard to believe that he could have done a worse job. Yet gets a 3rd term
Theres only one guy, who could be considered senior, who'd blame Hamas for his local supermarket not having his favourite brand of crisps in stock. It is absolutely him.Any of it really.
The West Midlands hasn't turned into shining beacon of moderate Tory policy over the past 7 years. Violent crime is through the roof, public transport is non-existent in certain areas, schooling and hospital standards are at an all time low. This idea that Andy Street has done a wonderful job is not one I can see where I'm living.Tories should put Andy Street in as next leader. Decent, hard working, moderate that gets stuff done.
People of W Midlands made a mistake voting on tribal party lines I feel
Do you live in the West Midlands?Tories should put Andy Street in as next leader. Decent, hard working, moderate that gets stuff done.

I'm guessing you don't live in London. And watch GB News. Then on top of that, he's turned London into a fecking cesspit. Lawlessness, knife crime, gang culture, divisions and lack of social cohesion, expensive transport.

Someone who doesn't go to the extreme of every scenario and speaking rubbish on everything would be better.Ok. If I said, Khan has done a fantastic job in London. Has made transport cheaper, built lots of affordable housing and made the city safe from knife crime and burglars.
Then this would be better for you?
Yes, I can see the help postal voting is to many people, for a variety of reasons; however providing DOB and signatures, remotely, in this day and age is in my opinion just not totally secure. Even if the DOB and signature are comparable with Council records, it still doesn't mean the vote has been cast by the officially identified person.Personally for me, like I said, it’s a very secure process and enables a lot more people to vote.
ULEZ is about cleaner air. Congestion charge is about congestion and still has plenty of exemptions.it's a stealth tax. They're ending the EV exemption on congestion charge in London. Why? Because it was never about cleaner air. It's a tax on people to make more money for the council.
Ah yes, the good old all parties are shite when only one of them is a criminal cartel of bigots and thickos that's been destroying the country for a decade and a half. Gotta love that neutralityTories should put Andy Street in as next leader. Decent, hard working, moderate that gets stuff done.

You know why.Just seen the Tory bitch gave the entirely irrelevant Braveman a feature slot on her show this morning. Why?
Not sure about that. He's turned Birmingham into a fecking cesspit. You think transport in London is expensive? It's cheaper and better than any other city in the UK. Manchester would love London's 'expensive' transport network. Then on top of that, he's turned London into a fecking cesspit. Lawlessness, knife crime, gang culture, divisions and lack of social cohesion, expensive transport.

The same reason they keep giving that waste of afterbirth Farage air time, as well as the Reform clowns despite them boasting close to zero actual representation in office.Just seen the Tory bitch gave the entirely irrelevant Braveman a feature slot on her show this morning. Why?
Given the gargantuan scale of Sunak's defeat I would have regarded it as extremely biased of the BBC if they had not given airtime to anti-Sunak Tories, and Braverman is the most prominent of those willing to come out in public.Just seen the Tory bitch gave the entirely irrelevant Braveman a feature slot on her show this morning. Why?

What's he got done exactly?Tories should put Andy Street in as next leader. Decent, hard working, moderate that gets stuff done.

How has Andy Street done in the West Midlands on the same measures? Then on top of that, he's turned London into a fecking cesspit. Lawlessness, knife crime, gang culture, divisions and lack of social cohesion, expensive transport.

He will always be a nasty piece of work out for himself.Skip to 32:49 for the LGBT section
Galloway is course full of shit and it gets shown up here. Doesn’t now think gay life is normal but has in the past voted for gay marriage and gay adoption.
More likely to see if tagged.Wibble
That's politics baby! Good for her says I.Just seen this. She made sure her election was safe under the Labour banner then resigned once her seat was secured. If she was so principled she would have resigned before the election and stood as an independent.
Total misreading from me, she was elected last year. That's politics baby! Good for her says I.

Don't see the problem with this, anyone in the politics appearing at football grounds automatically smacks of trying to be man/woman of the people. It's like Cameron supporting Aston Villa (or sometimes west ham when he's confused!) or Sunak saying he's a Southampton fan etc, it's all bollocks.Tweet

She’s 100% winding down and preparing for her exit. I’m fascinated to see what her next role is and you can quote this post when everyone says something like “wow I didn’t think she would actually become communications director for the Conservative Party, that’s insane!” Or “what does a former Prime Minister need a fluffer for and why are the tax payer paying for it?”Tweet

I remember that and thought it was actually rather insane that a PM didn't know how to use a bank card. He's so disconnected from the normal people that things like filling in or paying for stuff are a fecking challenge for him.And to think she was their political editor at one point...
Of course it's ok for Farage to pretend to be a "man of the people", necking pints that apparently only Labour politicians do. Or Sunak to pretend that he owns a prole car, and that he knows how contactless bank cards work. It's ok for Prime Ministers to run away and hide in a fecking fridge when they don't want to ask questions.
It's ok to lie to parliament, the Queen, and the electorate. It's ok to have wild parties when everyone else is in lockdown. It's ok to give your mates billions of pounds in taxpayer's money, and swan off to a cushy private consultation job with them after you've taken all you can from your MP role. It's ok to rip everything out of the country like copper wire in an old decrepit house. But drink a pint and wear a bomber jacket? You fecking bastard.
