Again another example of fans having the wrong idea in their head of a player we signed. We have missed him massively since he has been out.

Yeah, but Antony is style wise a much better fit for us than Martinelli is (style wise). Antony is extremely strong on the ball in the upper right corner of the field and when he gets it in that position, we will almost never lose possession of it.Must admit I have a bad feeling about him succeeding at United.
But that might just be my own preference for direct wingers like Garnacho and Martinelli.
I doubt Serbia were particularly worried about Antony being on the ball, where as they seemed to shit themselves whenever Martinelli had the ball.
Antony also did his classic move with losing the ball, because he wanted to trap the ball when receiving it with his back to a defender.
That would be their own fault then. People should know better by now not to use YouTube compilations to judge a player.YT compilations

That’s no excuse. Martinelli was in the same boat and looked twice the player (at least)He was shit today, but this is a fully rotated lineup that doesn't seem to want to get out of first gear. So can't really read into that performance.
Missed chance after chance - I think he stayed on because it’s the last of his tournament to be honest.Compare his performance with Martinelli and you can see why Martinelli gets to stay on the pitch
Eh? He played very well. And believe me, I will only ever praise an Arsenal player through gritted teeth.Missed chance after chance - I think he stayed on because it’s the last of his tournament to be honest.
Bruno Guimarães was the shittest player on the pitch for themEh? He played very well. And believe me, I will only ever praise an Arsenal player through gritted teeth.
Martinelli actually created some form on danger and looked like he could make a difference.Missed chance after chance - I think he stayed on because it’s the last of his tournament to be honest.
He wasn't good by any metric. Average at best if you take into account most of his teamates who were pretty bad as well, or simply "bad" if you were expecting him to do something that could challenge Raphinha's spot (which isn't such a high bar). He didn't do such thing."he's so good" "he's shit"

What do you see in him? Explain please. I'm not being an arse. I'm curious cos I just don't see itAgain another example of fans having the wrong idea in their head of a player we signed. We have missed him massively since he has been out.
I don’t think he missed one chance that you would say ‘he has to score that’. He created chances for himself and for others. Antony on the other hand had the right back on toast for the first 10 mins and then nothing after that.Missed chance after chance - I think he stayed on because it’s the last of his tournament to be honest.

He played really well yeah, but missed sitters. The reason he won’t play much again isn’t because of his performance tonight but because of his position being filled by Vinicius or NeymarEh? He played very well. And believe me, I will only ever praise an Arsenal player through gritted teeth.
Martinelli also is strong on the ball and an excellent passer. As for the comparisons between the two, I feel Antony is much more like Saka. When Saka receives the ball he will slow the game down to his own pace (which is still pretty quick), Martinelli on the hand ups the tempo. Saka likes to take his man on beginning from a slow movement/standstill position, Martinelli likes to take his man on at high pace.Yeah, but Antony is style wise a much better fit for us than Martinelli is (style wise). Martinelli had three good chances. Two of which he fashioned himself driving deep into the opposition box forcing good saves. As for his headed effort, probably should have scored, but then a tricky nimble and of slight build winger are not exactly known for his heading. The fact that its an element of his game is really pleasing to us Gooners. He looked half good until it came to doing something useful
Some of you guys have a very weird definition of what a "sitter" is. The only sitter that was missed in this game imo was Guimaraes at the end of the game.He played really well yeah, but missed sitters. The reason he won’t play much again isn’t because of his performance tonight but because of his position being filled by Vinicius or Neymar
fecking hellOn Martinelli, we believe we have a well-behaved Luis Saurez in the making
Exactly this. It’s been so noticeable how much we missed him while he was out. Yet some here still think he doesn’t do much.We haven’t had a single good performance since he’s been out, as he’s our 100% outball under the press, in a similar way Bernardo is for city. Without him we’ve reverted to some pretty poor direct football.
You wait and see. In time, I will be proven right.fecking hell
Martinelli is absolutely nothing like Suarez is or was in any style, in any profile, in any key attributes. That is such a wtf comparison. It would have been more suitable if you said Martinelli was a Ronnie O’Sullivan in the making. On Martinelli, we believe we have a well-behaved Luis Saurez in the making.
Martinelli is a good player, but not a particularly special talent. Not really similar to Suarez either. I wouldn't even be all that surprised if Garnacho developed into a better player. You wait and see. In time, I will be proven right.
Martinelli is destined to be among one of the top players in the world.
