They have a chance, largely because Mourinho doesn't have many options, he wants to come back to England and we have a history of dithering.
If Everton sign Mourinho while we stick with LVG, I'm done.

Investment aside, Everton is a serious step down for him (we don't even know whether the level of investment promised is akin to the likes of Chelsea/City do we?). He'd probably rather wait a year for the United seat to be completely vacant (or maybe even other clubs to sack their managers aside from United) before taking that Everton job.

If I was Jose, I defintely wpuldbt join Everton at this stage of my career. He's already proven himself at that level.
However,I wouldn't wait another year for the United job. Because then he won't be going against the unpopular Dutch manager on his last legs,but 963 game Ryan Giggs backed by SAF and SBC. He can't win.

If Van Gaal is still here next season, and we let Mourinho go to Everton; I will truly be hoping for terrible things to happen to those in charge.
