He's just getting his excuse in early.Yeah, mixed it up with the Chelsea v Bayern match. Still, 2-1 at the Bernabeu means City have a great shot. And even if they were 5-0 down they still have a game against Madrid at home! Gotta question any fan who 'doesn't care' about that.
Buy a few cold ones for CAS and boom, they're the new league winners instead of liverpool.Maybe the CAS will overturn that result? It's worth a try.
We haven't had good luck against Arsenal lately, I'm worried either way.Now I'm wondering if Arteta is really that good, or City were shit.
If Arteta is good, I'm worried facing them in the final. If City is shyte, not surprised.
Nah I thought yesterday that City looked toothless upfront. Without Aguero they struggle. Jesus is not the man to resurrect themNow I'm wondering if Arteta is really that good, or City were shit.
If Arteta is good, I'm worried facing them in the final. If City is shyte, not surprised.
2-1 up but anyway most likely getting his excuses in early so that if they feck it up and get eliminated he can say ‘well I said last week that I don’t care’Worst of the lot. 3-0 up against Madrid and most likely into the quarters. How can you not care about that?
Yeah but we've got better at playing smaller clubs recently. Either way, out of the final 4 teams Arsenal is the one I'd want to play. We owe them for 2005. They have become FA Cup specialists in recent years and are the record holders. Think we're one behind? Be nice to correct that.We haven't had good luck against Arsenal lately, I'm worried either way.
If they think a rebuild will bring them back to absolute dominance they are gravely mistaken. It won't be that easy. They are losing or have lost key players to age and with that leadership and the crucial mentality needed. They are and will be a force to be reckoned with but a repeat of last season won't happen for a very long time.“rEbUiLd!” What shite plastic supporters.
City have lost to Norwich, Southampton, Chelsea, Spurs, Wolves (twice), and United (thrice) this season. Credit to Arteta for convincing his players to defend competently, but beating City this year is hardly a great accomplishment. Now I'm wondering if Arteta is really that good, or City were shit.
I wish Pep would not wear those ripped jeans on matchday really bugs me , sets the wrong tone, im sure it had something to do with the defeat,.
I totally agree with this. He is the face of a massive club and football organisation. You can dress casually and be smart. At present his attire does not give a good impression
There aren't many elite managers out there but I think Nuno the Wolves manager may be decent here. Arteta is proving his worth at Arsenal but would he leave?
If we had to make a decision TODAY, I’d go for Nuno.
Like his all round approach and style
I like everything about him. He is a good coach and tactician and seems to motivate his team. He is only 46 too.
He would be an interesting choice anyway we have a big few months coming up.
Laporte has shown himself to be very good but I'd say it's a stretch to describe him as world class as you have to be at that level for a considerable period. He hasn't been great since the restart but as that was on the back of a serious injury then we will have to see.
Laporte is also having to nurse a rookie kid alongside him as well as also having the erratic Walker and Mendy to contend with.
All relevant points! Plus having Otamendi, Stones & Cancelo as potential playing partners. We have a shambolic defence set up and you have question how we have arrived at this point
Talking about Nuno, which would be similar to the way we lurched between styles, with no apparent thought as to whether the incoming manager and the existing squad were in any way complimentary.Jesus! Already discussing replacements.
This is hilarious logic. It really is. The same pointless logic applied to Pogba’s haircuts - it’s ridiculous and unfair.People may laugh, but I thought similarly the past few weeks. He’s dressed like he’s some hipster coffee shop employee, not a high-level football manager. These things do transfer onto the pitch and the players’ mentality.
And, yes, I am aware some managers wear tracksuits at games but at least they are club tracksuits and set the tone accordingly.
Thought i would have been really pissed off this morning about this defeat , but in hindsight we got very little credit for our domestic treble last year so winning the two domestic cups again would have gone under the radar , but no doubt if the Rags win the FA Cup , it would be likened to the second coming of christ
Our focus for the re-start has always been the Champs league and this now makes or breaks our season , we are four games from making history , its tough Real Madrid possibly Juventus and then Barca or Bayern is the toughest route , i have never really cared about the Glamour Cup but it would be sweet justice watching Cerferin or one of his UEFA cretins handing Big Ears over to Merlin.
We can dream.
city need a super striker or 2 ? somebody that scores 40 goals a season. we make the most chances in world football that somebody should be get 40 goals easy ? could you see a alan shearer or andy cole getting just 20 goals a season in this team they would give up football
goals are being made by the hat full but missed because of sloppy finishing, its a simple game just score more than the other team, pep at barca had goals messi he would get easy 40 to 50 and barca had a dodgy defence but the goals saved them
A cheeky £75 upfront for King Arry or straight swop Stones & Zin or some other permutation to suit.
Kane Kun & Jesus.....anything not to like. 60 goals a season !!
player's we bought just haven't worked out, mainly Stones, Cancelo and Mendy. All three looked great additions but for various reasons they just haven't worked. The money we spunked on them could have bought the rock of a centre back we desperately need. Add to that Dinho' getting old and Rodri not a patch on him and we.are where we are.
I think in the 1st half, we had 0 shots on Target
2nd half, 1 shot on target by Mahrez
If you think buying another CB will solve our problem, I am afraid it will not.
I would rather spend 60-100m that we seems to be willing to spend on defenders, on a match winning players who will unlock defence and break the parking bus teams
Isn’t Poch still available?
I'd totally forgotten him.
Interesting that he still does not have a club yet
I think there's a bigger chance of us getting Haaland than City. Just cause his father played for em for a few seasons doesn't nail it on.Feels inevitable to me that they'll get Haaland at some point. I'm not actually sure he'll suit a Pep team, so perhaps in another year.
In the short term, they're going to spend an obscene amount of money this summer. Need to replace Fernandinho, Kompany, Aguero and at least 1 full back. Now that FFP is dead, won't be a problem for them, but still.
When they do that, they'll be a force again, because they are at least well-focussed on the type of players that suit Pep's system and if you have that kind of plan plus unlimited funds you will eventually succeed. De Bruyne, Sterling, B Silva, Mahrez and Foden is still a staggering amount of attacking talent that's not going anywhere.
Utd are better than City at the moment. They don't have the fantastic players we do, but they don't have huge holes either. What's the point of having the two finest wide forwards in the Premier League if an opponent can just put the ball at the feet of their fastest player and he can just race through unchallenged to your six yard box?
We have to accept that City have defensive weakness and we have to address it.
They are better because they are balanced, thanks to a good signing, getting Pogba back and Martial coming into form. We are totally unbalanced.
that Bruno was a very good buy, hope he goes the same way as bernardo,, whats happened to him ?
The thing is they do it to themselves, with Pep's style.Yeah I agree, City are shit. They are so vulnerable to counter attacking teams.
Pep is so stubborn, he trust his way of play too much. Signs of football evolving and Pep still stuck with his philosophy.
bluemoo:"Oh ny my manager wears ripped jeans, I can't perform on the pitch now" - Manchester City players
Massive rips in his jeans. Pep's missus should get a massive needle and repair them.
Hear me out.
This season has been an effort in making sure Solskjaer stays at United so they don’t for Potch and leaving us holding our todger in 12 months time
The evidence:
1) The Derby at home in December, we lost in an entriley predictable manner, are we suggesting Guardiola wan't prepared for United's pace?
2)The 1st leg of the semi at OT, it should have easily been 6 or 7 but no, it only ended 3-1 and kept Solsajer ina job. I believe that if it was 6 or 7 Solsjaer would have got the sack. Then the return leg, we lost! How? Scored 2 off-side goals when the striker should have held is run and missed at least 3 open nets, again giving United/Solsjaer a moral victory of the piece.
3)The the second league derby, left out KDB for unknown reasons then the keeper let one in at the near post then threw it to McTominey to finish us off. Add to that the amount of time the ball roll acrossed united's penalty area and it all starts to make sense.
That win gave United a real chance at Top4 and gave their season life. We did the necessary and then let VAR take care of the rest - take away the VAR points and the 6 off from City and Solskjaer would be long gone and Potch already there
I accept I might seem a bit Alex Jones here but I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility, particularly if City do play the ‘long game’ as many feel we do.....
Thoughts???
They've won two of the last three leagues and we're all they can think aboutThe City, Solskjaer and Pochettino Conspiracy
Nothing to do with Chelsea and Leicester dropping a lot of points since the restart and we were on a 19 game unbeaten run.The City, Solskjaer and Pochettino Conspiracy
Just so I can get this straight in my head:The City, Solskjaer and Pochettino Conspiracy
