On your 1st point, I thought the value of the Ratcliffe bid was actually higher than the Quatar bid because he didn't intend to purchase 100% of the club at the price he was paying whilst the Quatar bid did.Dont think anyone said he is bluffing. Mostly its
1. His bid is financially worse in actual bid value
2. His bid is financially worse in long term United point of view.
3. He made last minute Chelsea bid so all “Put Manchester back in Manchester United” is nonsense MAGA stuff.
SJR is decent alternative to Qatar and light years ahead of Glazers. But financially its worse deal than Qatar.
Will let morality debate for real and most important fans.
It's irrelevant to the Glazers and his bidRatcliffe trying to win the PR war because he can't win the bidding war.
Qatar can only buy the Glazers shares in this transaction 31% of the club is on the open market and they would have to buy those separatelyOn your 1st point, I thought the value of the Ratcliffe bid was actually higher than the Quatar bid because he didn't intend to purchase 100% of the club at the price he was paying whilst the Quatar bid did.
True.If it's really so, then I'd prefer Qatar. Better performance transforms to better image over time.
What a cheeky way to enter in his exclusive Man Utd fan club.I feel bad for @Wumminator and i don't want him to cry, so I'm supporting INEOS
Well, based on their PR campaign it suggests they don't actually know what they are doing because all of their media stuff claims they want to buy 100% of the club for a little more than Ratcliffe wants to buy what's actually for sale.Qatar can only buy the Glazers shares in this transaction 31% of the club is on the open market and they would have to buy those separately
It's a good question. There's his partners at INEOS, John and Andy, although they're also getting up there in age. He has 2 sons who are in their mid-to-late 30s or early 40s by the look of it. Not 100% clear what they do, seem to keep a low profile.Ratcliffe is 70. Id genuinely like to know what the plan is in a few years when he doesn't want to/isn't fit to spend 7 days per week running billion pound businesses. Does he have adult children who are set to take over Ineos etc or is United sold to whichever Chemicals company buys ineos?
Its important, but the Glazers will just sell to whoever gives them the most money right now
Everyone makes mistakes and does things they regret. But all members of the actual Tory party are cnuts though. As said previously - let's leave the cheap Tory-bashing out of this.
I've voted Tory in the past and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Are we all cnuts to you?
It just looks like you're trying to impress a bunch of strangers on the internet, which isn't a great look.
No doubt Sir Jim must have asked for his takeover meeting with the club to be on the Friday so he could actually meet the gaffer in person at Carrington and let the Qatari’s visit on the Thursday when the team are in Spain and it’s pissing down with rain in Manchester.Tweet

So, literally sports-washing.True.
Mind. Blown. No doubt Sir Jim must have asked for his takeover meeting with the club to be on the Friday so he could actually meet the gaffer in person at Carrington and let the Qatari’s visit on the Thursday when the team are in Spain and it’s pissing down with rain in Manchester
Done deal probably. He already left? Why the feck has he come in the first place?
Yes, because for all the money City and PSG have spent they have cabinets full of CL trophies don’t they?!Yes obviously its about the money.
More investment in the club means better success on the pitch that's not exactly rocket science is it?
Sorry, it could be interpreted that it was aimed at you I can assure you it wasn't.I'm not sure if those final two sentences are aimed at me specifically or the message board altogether
its PR BS. Both parties probably want 100% but while Jassim is confident that he'll able to buy all shares, Ratcliffe is being more cautious by not promising what he hasn't got in the bag.Well, based on their PR campaign it suggests they don't actually know what they are doing because all of their media stuff claims they want to buy 100% of the club for a little more than Ratcliffe wants to buy what's actually for sale.
What City and PSG do have though is cabinets full of league titles which we could certainly do with right now. Although I do agree spending alone doesn’t automatically mean success as we’ve found out, you need the right people in charge of how the moneys spent.Yes, because for all the money City and PSG have spent they have cabinets full of CL trophies don’t they?!
Obviously also a billion later Utd have been super successful in the last 10 years haven’t we?!
Maybe it is rocket science after all…..
In my view whether it's loaded onto INEOS or the club, it will still be debt that they have to service and I can tell you for free if they can't pay it via INEOS it's going to come from the club.
There's also what he has done with Nice, it doesn't fill me with confidence.
FYI I don't prefer Qatar, I just think they have it in the bag given their huge reserves of wealth. I dread the day we will become just another state club but I feel it's inevitable.
Great publicity for INEOS when you think about. Can't even be arsed to wear a tie to an important business meeting.
He's not a serious contender for me.
I'm out.
Keep them for now. They have a relationship with ETH. Assuming we’re talking about Murtough & Arnold, last summer overpaying for Antony was more down to the Glazers first giving a restrictive budget and then taking an emergency loan for signing.Do new owners replace current CEO or they keep him?
Why is always CL trophy only mentioned? What is wrong with domestic leagues and cups? And they have shit load of those.Yes, because for all the money City and PSG have spent they have cabinets full of CL trophies don’t they?!
Obviously also a billion later Utd have been super successful in the last 10 years haven’t we?!
Maybe it is rocket science after all…..
I am pro Qatari and I still think that SJR is making a serious attempt to buy the club.Bit miffed to discover that the media/fans still consider Ratcliffe is making a serious attempt to buy the club.
I'd be content winning almost every League title in England and becoming a joke in Europe. I'd prefer to win in Europe of course but it's a decent consolation when we already have a few Champions Leagues and other assorted European silverware. Why is always CL trophy only mentioned? What is wrong with domestic leagues and cups? And they have shit load of those.
They'll fit right in then.
United won't ever buy a player for less that $70 million once they're running it.They'll fit right in then.
They wouldn't waste their time turning up to OT/Carrington if they weren't serious.Bit miffed to discover that the media/fans still consider Ratcliffe is making a serious attempt to buy the club.

@Wumminator is still vastly superior in my eyes.Tweet

These LOCAL fans have something to say.
So if Wumminator took one or two mates down and wrote "we love you Jim" on a bedsheet, this would also be representative of the wider fanbases support of SJRs bid?Tweet

That Gerry Deakin guy is a huge Qatar fanboy. 1958 just want Glazers gone.Tweet
