They still have Hart and Zabaleta. Plus he and Hernandez don't exactly get on. Will be interesting to see how that works.

He also rejected the chance to sign Hart on loan while at Sunderland so he could play Pickford, or at least that is what he claims.

Two winners versus a whole squad is day and night. Hart is only on loan and Zabaleta is most likely finished as a top class player. As for Chicarito the same was thought when Mourinho took over and Mata was at Utd.
 
The most important measure of a manager's ability to be successful is generally recruitment. Buying bad equals failing. Because Moyes isn't bad at recruitment he has a decent shot at being successful at WH. The playing style might be an issue though it didn't hinder him at Everton.
 
Managerial job is beautiful. You can fail at it multiple times but still get a job and earn some good money while doing it.
 
Surely this will be Moyes' final attempt to salvage something since the train wreck that has ensued after leaving everton?

I must admit that I wasn't a fan of him when he joined United but I tried my hardest to like him and support him. It just felt so false and I thought I was lying to myself believing he would come good.

The West Ham fans are pretty much all agreed that it wasn't the right choice for them before he's even managed his first game, but Moyes has been found out now and I would not expect clubs and fans alike to let him run loose for too long.

He will only have a short time to establish himself at West Ham and I think this could be a key reason he won't succeed there. He's terrible under pressure which was evident at United, and the West Ham fans won't be giving him any breathing space if results are not good enough from the start.

Yeah, basically you can rest for a year or 2 with the money you got after the sack and then get a new job in a instant.

Maybe but who? Moyes isn't good but it's easy to find worse and not so easy to find better available managers.
 
There's not many industries where you can fail spectacularly 3 times on the bounce and still get another job at the top.

Stuff like this shows just how effective Moyes and his media mates have been at pushing a favourable narrative for him.

He actually spent more than any other Sunderland manager in their history. And still got them relegated.

True. he just made some shocking transfer market decisions and he was totally clueless in January. There were plenty of outcasts from other clubs that could actually improve their squad.

He was backed at Sunderland. He just happened to think that Darron gibson, Steven Pienaar, Paddy Mcnair, Donald Love, Jolean Lescott, Papy Djiloboji and Didier Ndong were the lads to keep them up!

He had a net surplus of 10m as Sunderland manager. So he had to sell to buy. In addition to that he had to trim the squad. Now I agree his signings at Sunderland don't help his cause but it wasn't a case of him being allowed to keep his best players and then add to it.

It really is a bone of contention for me when I read things like a manager spent X. I think what he recouped should be set against that to give a fairer figure.

Van Anholt and Coates are the only ones i think would have been of any use to him. And one of them was replaced with Denayer who is better and was only a loan so didn't add to his expenditure.

Transfer Markt has him spending almost £40m thats probably more than any other Sunderland manager spent in a single window in their history.

I know scousers love discussing net spend but i'm not going down that route as it's boring and pointless. The fact is he was backed financially by Sunderland, but due to his own incompetence he spent it on a load of crap and ex-players of his who were over the hill.
