David Moyes West Ham Manager | Gone (pedantic sod Sarni)

I think he is in the managerial last chance saloon. West Ham is his level and unlike at Sunderland he will most likely be backed in January. He is a solid plodder of a manager who generally buys well so this may work out for him. Unlike at United he is not walking into a dressing room of winners so he has a better chance of being respected. His excellent work at Everton should stand him in good stead. Hope he does well. Comes across as a decent bloke.
They still have Hart and Zabaleta. Plus he and Hernandez don't exactly get on. Will be interesting to see how that works.

He also rejected the chance to sign Hart on loan while at Sunderland so he could play Pickford, or at least that is what he claims.

Two winners versus a whole squad is day and night. Hart is only on loan and Zabaleta is most likely finished as a top class player. As for Chicarito the same was thought when Mourinho took over and Mata was at Utd.

The most important measure of a manager's ability to be successful is generally recruitment. Buying bad equals failing. Because Moyes isn't bad at recruitment he has a decent shot at being successful at WH. The playing style might be an issue though it didn't hinder him at Everton.

Managerial job is beautiful. You can fail at it multiple times but still get a job and earn some good money while doing it.

Surely this will be Moyes' final attempt to salvage something since the train wreck that has ensued after leaving everton?

I must admit that I wasn't a fan of him when he joined United but I tried my hardest to like him and support him. It just felt so false and I thought I was lying to myself believing he would come good.

The West Ham fans are pretty much all agreed that it wasn't the right choice for them before he's even managed his first game, but Moyes has been found out now and I would not expect clubs and fans alike to let him run loose for too long.

He will only have a short time to establish himself at West Ham and I think this could be a key reason he won't succeed there. He's terrible under pressure which was evident at United, and the West Ham fans won't be giving him any breathing space if results are not good enough from the start.

And grab a huge pay off when you f*ck everything up and get sacked. On to the next one and repeat. Best job ever.

That's because there isn't many decent managers.

Yeah, basically you can rest for a year or 2 with the money you got after the sack and then get a new job in a instant.

In West Ham case I think they could have gotten someone more decent than Moyes.

Maybe but who? Moyes isn't good but it's easy to find worse and not so easy to find better available managers.

There's not many industries where you can fail spectacularly 3 times on the bounce and still get another job at the top.

Stuff like this shows just how effective Moyes and his media mates have been at pushing a favourable narrative for him.

He actually spent more than any other Sunderland manager in their history. And still got them relegated.

True. he just made some shocking transfer market decisions and he was totally clueless in January. There were plenty of outcasts from other clubs that could actually improve their squad.

What are the odds on West Ham to go down now?

Evens?

He was backed at Sunderland. He just happened to think that Darron gibson, Steven Pienaar, Paddy Mcnair, Donald Love, Jolean Lescott, Papy Djiloboji and Didier Ndong were the lads to keep them up!

He didn’t even think that himself  didn’t he say in January the players he’s going to bring in won’t make a difference?

Just heard him on the radio. His voice made me want to turn the wheel into the central reservation.

He had a net surplus of 10m as Sunderland manager. So he had to sell to buy. In addition to that he had to trim the squad. Now I agree his signings at Sunderland don't help his cause but it wasn't a case of him being allowed to keep his best players and then add to it.

It really is a bone of contention for me when I read things like a manager spent X. I think what he recouped should be set against that to give a fairer figure.

Has there ever been any pic of anyone with their hand supporting their head that has ever been in any way cool?

He is going to try to make it difficult for Swansea at WestHam. He will aspire to be like Palace. Serves the West Ham fans right. They thought they were too good for Big Sam. Now they have got Moyes. LOL.

It's massively, embarrassingly over the top is all I'm saying. It's one thing saying he didn't do the best job at United, fair enough I think that would be difficult to argue with but some of the comments and poison being spouted about him is unnecessary. Good or bad, he was still a United manager and I don't think he's done anything to deserve the bitterness. Some (if not most) people on here are wishing relegation on West Ham purely for appointing him! It's behaviour which if it took place on RAWK would be ripped to pieces.

Nah, not even close.

When fellani Valencia young smalling are done here I expect Moyes to come in for them.

West Ham fans can get fecked. Deluded cnuts.

west ham should be investigated... I mean its gotta be illegal to purposely try to get yourself relegated... Right??

Van Anholt and Coates are the only ones i think would have been of any use to him. And one of them was replaced with Denayer who is better and was only a loan so didn't add to his expenditure.

Transfer Markt has him spending almost £40m thats probably more than any other Sunderland manager spent in a single window in their history.

I know scousers love discussing net spend but i'm not going down that route as it's boring and pointless. The fact is he was backed financially by Sunderland, but due to his own incompetence he spent it on a load of crap and ex-players of his who were over the hill.
