You’d think after a result like two weeks ago, you’d think some momentum might build.

But nope back to normal. Shaw is the only notable absentee now and he’s not Paolo Maldini exactly.
You said it yourself, two weeks ago...

Momentum lost with the break.

Sky just said Brentford has only managed more shots in a first half once since they've been promoted. We're always at the end of these stats.

Just how is it possible to look so clueless in and out of possession so consistently? He has been here for years and had a huge budget to buy his players. And still, it’s obvious that the players simply don’t know what to do on the pitch.

Maybe our players are extremely stupid (although both Brentford’s first and second string players seem capable of playing alright football), but then why hasn’t the manager replaced said players with players capable of understanding his vision?

Perhaps the simplest answer is the right one. That EtH is a tactically mediocre manager who’s bested by the majority of PL managers.

Not a chance he’s here next season. We are so poorly coached.

Big fear is Southgate gets the job.

It was a freak 45 minutes of football given the performances of us and Liverpool this season. People were reading far too much into it.

Listening to the half time spiel on sky, it’s mazing how many touches Brentford has had in our box, most since they’ve been promoted or some shit like that. And it happens in every match against every team, chance after chance after chance conceded and feck all the other way, just hope and pray for a goal from someone

People are so fickle.
Big time. I’d be happy if we knick results in these games and just keep building. These players aren’t controlling a game like city or playing attacking pressing football like Liverpool whoever is in charge but we do have the players to smash and grab against anyone. We need to keep building towards one or the other but we clearly aren’t there yet

Majority of this squad have had a full week off btw and some of them haven’t played for 2 weeks and this is the intensity we get

Aaand we`re back to normal again. Awful pressing, awful at defending spaces, awful at moving the ball around.
The squad is not great and some of our players are looking dead on he inside (looking at you Marcus!!) but bloody hell.
Brentford does not have a player good enough for our starting eleven and they have still created enough chances to be 2-0 up at half time. At the very least.

Exactly, EtH has some managed to setup the team in such a way that we carry no attacking threat and yet are so vulnerable to opposition attacks. We leave so many spaces its not even funny.
It feels like the players have absolutely no plan or any clue how to breakdown Brentford. Just shocking.

We're also clearly not building towards anything. Well, except consistently conceding 10-15 chances per half and getting dominated by bottom half teams.

The way Brentford zig-zagged up the pitch with 5 passes in 5 seconds from their box into ours on around 43 minutes. No proper coach allows that happen repeatedly over almost two seasons now. He's just shit.

I know, just that I don't know how much momentum can be gained after 1 freak game tbh. The basis of football is non-existent and hooray football cannot work in consecutive games
Momentum can absolutely be gained from a single game.

Already had 14 shots in one half. If they are pushing 30 shots by the end of the game... :houllier:

That is actually generous they should at least be 3-0 up, they have missed easy chances. I don’t know what is the the plan, we are just soo slow and casual in our passing, our players look unfit and half hearted they are getting every 50/50.

Mctominay, Lindelof, AWB, Rashford and Garnacho has been shocking. In fact except Varane and Mainoo everybody has been awful.

this is 16th placed team. When will we ever go to away grounds and dominate any team. His tactics are again useless, it appears only Maino is playing in midfield and he is getting physically dominated. We need Casemiro in there alongside Maino not only one.

hoping for a couple of quality moments for us to win the game in the second half, because that first half was awful.

Those kind of stats, that every single team manages to coincidentally achieve against us, don’t mean anything apparently. Just pure bad luck! :wenger:
