why cant Toto just hold his hands up ad say OK Seb and Ferrari handled the VSC better , not buying this glitch response.
Fact they both finished is a good result! They're still behind RBR and possibly Renault but I reckon they have got the resources to close the gap and when you have got Alonso behind the wheel anything is possible.
Not sure what the deal with Haas is but it looks like they're in the mix here as well.

They're definitely behind Haas and RBR but infront of Renault. Alonso will drag that car to its absolute maximum and when they add some improvements he'll regularly be in podium places.

those were his comments before the start of the weekend. It's true because McLaren are starting with a new power unit that needs to integrated into the car and there's a bigger scope for improvement. They aren't quick enough now but Alonso is still able to drag it to P5. With a couple of improvements he's there with RBR and Ferrari.
