The main reason I would keep him. Vital in these games

Massive display. That double tackle he made on KdB in the first half will surely be appearing on several end of season highlight vids if we do manage to win the title!

Aside from his usual terrific hustle off the ball, was very measured, calm and even progressive with his passing. My MotM.

He picked a great game to really turn up. When he's on fire he can put in these MOTM performances.

Only time KDB was fully away from him was the one chance they had (and the goal they then scored). He did a mega job on him today

He's capable of such a high level which is why his dips in form are so disappointing.

Not coincidence our best games this season against Spurs and these lot, Fred has been arguably MOTM. Not saying he is a starter but absolutely the right player for the games against the bigger teams.

Excellent. Really happy ETH started him here. We needed him. MoTM or close to it.

Why people keep saying ETH did wonders with Fred? He had patches of very good form before. He's now playing in a better team so it is not a surprise he's doing well.

Great game today, worked his nuts off. That's his best role for us 3rd man in a 3 man midfield in big games.

Yup, he played very well under Rangnick. Fred's better performances have coincided with not playing him as a #6.

Credit to Fred for his performance today. I am, pretty much, always the first to throw s-t at Fred. It would be pure agenda for me to ignore the levels he showed today. His work on DeBruyne today was close to Ander on Hazard levels. Plus, unlike so often, he actually looked in control of his feet. What a difference Fred can make when he both wins and uses the ball competently.

A match I was hoping he would play and he stepped up. Fantastic tracking, blocking and some good passes too setting us going

McFred under Ole was horrible. Fred broke away from the McFred and became Fred by himself during Ralf his period. Next step Fred took was to play excellent for ETH. Great game from Fred today.
Stop pairing Fred w McTominay and no need to drag Ole into this.

Fred has always been the more accomplished and better player than McTominay, and they both have their fair share of good games under Ole. Fred was a mainstay under Ole and everyone saw how impactful he can be.

The next step was to build a better team and maximize their attributes within the better team. Fred has benefited from this and it showed again today.

He is a master in chaotic games for us where we need to fight and defend, he lacks the refinement and poise to be part of a midfield that dominates the ball but today was a perfect game for him.

Fred was excellent today. I'm really glad he played from the start, Eriksen is a good passer from deep but doesn't offer that same intensity. Fred was shutting down a lot of City attacks early and that's a big reason why they were restricted to just the one shot on target.

Was fantastic all game and from memory can't remember any of the typical Fred brain fart moments.

I think that's the most accurate description of his effectiveness. When we dominate possession he isn't first on the list, but when it comes to needing a fighter in the middle of the park, him and Casemiro are a match made in heaven.
