Yeah, I'd like it to age a little too in regards of Bruce, wouldn't mind if it did actually continue with this version of Bruce if they did stick to that premise. Also, Alfred is great, some of his little phrases are proper English commoner but still carries the dignity of a refined chap. Who's your favourite character?
I actually think they have scripted Alfred completely worng! After being used to the proper ways of Michael Gough in Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney's Batman ( A very close second) and my favourite in Michael Caine in the more recent ones, this Alfred seems a bit too cockney for my liking; as if they are trying to hard to make him a tough Londoner.

As for my favourite, Penguin without a shadow of a doubt is the best character and possibly actor in it. He is exactly how I pictured penguin to be starting out, and his story is one I feel most viewers are intrigued to see pan out. Jada Pinkett-Smith as Fish Mooney is also brilliant, along with the other mob bosses, so that group in general make the story for me. I really hope they bring back Jerome/ "The Joker" (if he is) into the show at one point, because those last two minutes was fantastic from the guy. Selina is very good too, think they casted her very well.

Harvey and Jim are unfortunate castings for me. The OC fella has only two expressions on himself and lacks so much character, whilst Harvey is such a joke. But we have to stick with them

Ah, Mr Caine is also my favourite who portrays Alfred but i really like the cockney/commoner Alfred in this series, he makes me chuckle and is a good ying and yang from the already matured Bruce. The first time Fish appeared I was slightly put off with her mannerisms as she is very flamboyant with her hand actions, slowly but surely she has grown on me, she portrays her charterer well too. I haven't seen the episode that the Joker appears in yet but someone was saying that he has the perfect mouth for him as apparently he appears with no make up on and hasn't developed into his character just yet such as the riddler. I'm sure the Joker will become more prominent after his first appearance but you have to save the best to last, so to speak.

All in all I don't think there's much fault in the entire show. It is very well done, especially as it shows a younger Bruce. it is a nice change too as I don't believe a TV series has been done in this aspect, maybe in a cartoon series but not a regular tv show. It is a nice change of pace. The young lady who plays Catwoman is also a cracking little actor. By far my favourite tv show at the moment.

I hope Bruce grows up into at least a young-adult Bruce, because I'm not sure how much longer I can stick with this "super detective" 13 year old much longer.
You have to consider he is not a normal kid. He is Bruce Wayne, the smartest guy in the room. As he says to his board, age is irrelevant.

Personally, i quite enjoy his scenes.

Me too. I honestly don't see what the fuss is about young Master Bruce. It's all integral to the show. With all the corruption in the city on the increase, good characters fighting against a rising tide of crime, there's an element of pleasure in knowing that young Bruce ultimately becomes Batman and turns the tide back in favour of justice.

I think the kid is a good actor, personally. I can't judge him based on his role as Jake in Touch, so I have to go on his limited appearances on Gotham, which have been good. With Bruce's young persona, I kind of expect an intellectually curious individual who has issues with emotional detachment socially and anger outbursts. I'm intrigued to see where they go with him.

Oh I do, and don't get me wrong, and I really do like the actor who I think plays the role very well. I just feel he can be a bit wimpy. I would just like to see Bruce Wayne grow up a little, to make the crime-solving abilities a touch more believable, because right now he looks twice as smart as I am !

This show any good?
Most people on here seem to be divided so far between this and Arrow. I'm up-to-date with this show and about 16 or 17 episodes into Arrow and think this one has the edge so far* because of the many different character/plot lines that are developing.

*I must admit that some people do say that Arrow didn't really get going until about half way through series one though.

I'm not a comic book fan-boy or anything I just wanted something a bit more "fantasy" to watch for a while rather than the gritty real-life stuff that I normally feast on.

Give it a go!

The psychic Frank Cicero is hard to watch without picturing Hector ringing his bell in Breaking Bad!
He was in an episode of Constantine too. I can't take him seriously without tubes sticking out of his nose.

The (potential) Joker's "she just. kept. pushing" line was VERY Heath Ledger imo.

Funnily enough just saw the latest Elementary and he's in that too being annoyingly mobile and tube-free yet again.

Think Joker character gave a great performance, yeah it's hard to not make comparisons but think that his character definitely has legs.

The character of batman has a genius level IQ so Gotham are getting it spot on here.

@Drifter me neither. Ever since Daredevil got released I haven't bothered with it (whereas I have tried to keep up with Flash, Arrow & Agents of Shield). It has its moments, but generally, it just hasn't worked for me. Penguin is great, Alfred is growing on me, but I can't stand Jim Gordon in this. I know they needed to add more depth to his character, but a love triangle? (note, I'm not a comic book reader, so if that's how he is in the comics then I'll stand corrected).

I'm glad it's back and I enjoyed the last episode, but in my opinion it's not even close to Arrow & The Flash in terms of writing. There is a lot of good stuff in the show, but somehow episodes such as the last one seem kinda boring with no real big to-be villains playing a part.

Decent episode, see they've tried to shake things up a bit.

Nygma killing the cop should start the Riddler arc which I look forward to. Barbara seems to have been brought back into the show as Ogre's (temporary?) accomplice or something, which should at least make her a bit more interesting. No Fish was a little weird, don't know what Penguin v Maroni will cause. But still this Ogre thing being 3 episodes is kind of stretching it.

Also, is there going to be any big bad for this season? Not sure about what will happen in the finale.

It's got better as the series has worn on but Fish Mooney needs to be killed off.
About Fish....

Jada Pinkett - Smith has revealed she is leaving after this series anyways so chances are that happens

It's been decent, I still enjoy it.

Wishing for the impending mob war to finish quickly, the Riddler has been quite fun but I don't exactly know what the show aims to do in the finale.

Once Banshee, Game of Thrones and Mad Men started back up I stopped watching, not purposely, and really haven't had the desire to catch up.

I could only watch a handful of episodes before Jada Smith's Panto drag queen performance drove me to despair.
You're lucky - you would have smashed your TV if you continued and seen her OTT shenanigans as a prisoner on an island. Her hand movements ('acting'?) are so eye bleedingly cringe-worthy, that I can't help but do them in real life to piss people off.

If by better, you mean more ridiculous, then yea - you missed an episode where Jim Gordon's ex fiance Barbara, Catgirl and Poison Ivy began trying each other's clothes on and eating popcorn, after she caught them squatting in her apartment. It literally made no sense.

I'm really loving this chaps … sorry!

As origin shows go they've given themselves a huge task starting Bruce so young and not choosing to skip a few years after his parent's murders but if they're in it for the long run then they can use the coming seasons to develop some really interesting character arcs and back stories while they de-wimp Batman!

Penguin and that Joker kid have been the highlights for me … if I had to choose one negative (other than Will Smith's missus hamming it up) it would have to be the fact that Gordon seems to be the love child of Chelsea's central defensive pairing!
