Not being in the CL in the season concerned was due to circumstances beyond the club's control (i.e. Chelsea fluking it), but the point is that Spurs have finished in the top 4 twice in recent years, which gives the lie to your claim that Kane Spurs can never experience CL football with us.

Yes, Spurs have shown the ability to occasionally qualify for the CL, so it is certainly not impossible, but just not that likely.

If Kane manages to keep his form on his current level and maybe even builds on it, he will become a player who will at least look for a club which offers regular CL football. Players of that calibre might stick with their clubs for a season without it if they see it as an abnormality, but if the outlook is less promising they will be gone sooner or later.

If Kane develops as hoped, the only hope of Tottenham for keeping him is to become a stable part of the league´s top 4 and probably even do at least decently in the CL. Otherwise I don´t see him sticking around longer than 2017 or 2018.

I agree that most would say no. But things can change. And one change on the horizon is the new Spurs stadium complex, which will increase our income by a fair whack from a variety of sources, including sponsorships, and enable us to compete financially on a more even keel.

Yes, we do have stadium funding, which is why construction is continuing after the delay caused by the CPO saga with Archway Steel.

We've completed Phase 1 of the project, the T-shaped building which can be seen to left of this photo and now stadium ground works are underway ... you can see the beginning of the boundary of the new North Stand in the photo.

Because the stadium will never be the most deciding reason for a player to stay at a club. I would not mind if that would be the case given that the most outstanding feature of my club is probably the stadium, but it is simply not realistic. Players like to cite this as a reason to stay at a club and in some cases it can have some influence, but success on the pitch, money and prestige will normally always outweigh it as factors. It is a nice bonus especially for homegrown players, but nothing more.

Yes, I've read your other posts in the thread. It's just that believing a new stadium could play a role in making him stay is hilarious. He wouldn't have a feck about it if he wants a move.

The only 2 things that could make him stay long term are a) you grow as a club and make the CL consistently at a minimum and b) if he values his association with the club far more than the chance to play at a higher level, the chance to win things, stature and ofcourse, money.

It's very rare for b) to play out so you must hope your club improves. Can't see it though personally which is why I think it's inevitable he'l leave in a couple of years IF he keeps this level up.

Unfortunately Adebayor is (by far) our best paid player, despite being the least deserving. Not exactly sure what he gets, but it's somewhere in the region of £100 - 120k per week. On the bright-side his contract has only one more year to run.

I think he may struggle next season... Post season trip to Australia, then the u21 then almost immediately into pre season and in pochetinos team there is typically a lot of running / pressing required from the striker.
It's going to be tough for a young player to replicate his form next season... Though from an England perspective I hope he does

If you search hard enough you'll find him celebrating another trophy in our yellow kit. This time he had the good grace to go to our ground instead of yours for the party.

I have no doubt he'll be at Spurs next season. No big club will take the risk with the money you will expect. I think Kane will probably leave in 4-5 years on a bosman unless he repeats his form in the next season or two and tempts someone to pay the big money for him.

He's a good player and he's yours, enjoy him. I just don't know why your fans always need to pretend these players are 'our of your own' (Kane) or 'born to play for Spurs' (Bale) when they're not. They're Gooners who ended up there to advance their career.

Kane spent a year at Arsenal aged 8, and then spent a short time at Watford's academy. In comparison Kane has been at Spurs for 11 years and has come up through our academy system, so yes, of course he's one of our own.
