Not really when the opposition didn't get half of the required runs
What? They didn't get half of the runs because the said bowler got their two best batsmen in the opening spell. And then he came back in his second spell and got their third best batsman.

By your logic a batsman who scores 50 in a score of 150 deserves MOTM over a bowler who gets 4/16 (70 all out) in the second innings because "the opposition didn't get half of the required runs".

Shami would've been right among the top wicket takers in the tournament if they played him from the start.

You are right but I do think Windies not scoring even half the runs could have influenced the guy who picks MoM to give it to the top run-getter from both teams. Just saying it's not outlandish

Lanka plays WI and Saffers. Given both have nothing to play they can easily beat both.

- As Indian fans, need to accept this is how Dhoni is going to bat in this WC.
- This style does mean if he gets out after consuming too many balls, he will get criticised.
- Despite scoring well at the end, not being able to rotate strike against spinners is an issue. If you can't find singles against them then take them on to put pressure on them.
I can't take this much of never said before insight in one go. *insert brand new information gif*

Those 07 world t20 ind pak games are stuff of legends.
I still cant believe why misbah went for that stupid shot when he was hitting everythign for six down the ground. Ignoring that, that world cup was amazing, we were such a good side in the T20 format in the first few years. Lost in the final, won, got destroyed by hussey which prevented another trophy.

Probably the best hitting to win a match I've seen

Just find it a bit ridiculous that batsmen always are favoured. Yeah the pitch was bowler friendly so Kohli's innings was good but if it was vice versa (a batting paradise) you'd see some bloke smash 150 and still pick up the MOTM award even if there was a bowler bowling out of his skin in that game.

I don't get why there are four years between every WT20 nowadays. It's an awesome tournament that should be played every other year.

Why do the likes of Mayanti, Gaurav Kapur get to host serious cricket shows in India? It's so fecking annoying

I enjoy watching the Sky post-match coverage during the English summer, and the Harsha Bhogle hosted ones whenever he does are good - with serious guests..

Does anyone watch these things?

Guess they have to fit the 50 over WC in between

Now I haven't seen that game in a while but Misbah's shot was 100 percent on and he has played that to a lot of success in his career. That just wasn't his day. Cricket is a game of fine margins.

The fielder was up in the ring so that shot was 100% on.

Could have held one last year.

Apparently WT20 replaces the CT from now on. So there was a WT20 in 2016, the next one is in 2020 and then another one in 2021. No continuity or patterns whatsoever from ICC.

I see a lot of YT shows for their views. I think it's a real shame but all (most) subcontinent analysts right now are just garbage. Ramiz, Manjrekar, Wasim (hate to disrespected a great bowler) are terrible.

Gangully isn't even that good but he's bearable.

Between every test series and every 50 over major tournament, we lament the death of the format and write extended eulogies, following which we thoroughly enjoy said series/tournament.

Two formats which need counseling for imposter syndrome.

He was clearing everything down the ground and had hit a six a few deliveries before easily.

“The pitches that we’ve been playing on the last two years are surely the pitches we [should] be playing on in a World Cup,” he said, “so I don’t know why they’ve changed.

What a cringe interview.

Yeah you are right. Absolute idiocy from Misbah although he dragged Pakistan to that stage. I just started supporting Pakistan in that match and the very next ball he got out.
Most of India's matches in that cup were superb entertainment and really tight.
Tie with Pak in the group stage, I missed the NZ match, Yuvraj 6*6 vs England, awesome bowling for a smaller target against SA, against Australia Yuvraj sets up the batting and Harbhajan/Sreesanth somehow stop Hayden/Symonds, Irfan in the final keeping us comfortable, Misbah getting them back and then self-destructing once he had done all the work.

They aren't the exact same wickets you've played on in the last couple of years, but so what? Adapt to the conditions like everyone else. He says it isn't an excuse, so why even mention it?
What's even more bizarre is that he is even complaining about pitches were score was above or around 300 like in Pakistan game. Just because England lost that match, the pitch was not its usual self.

Pitches are different because rain has not allowed groundsman that much control over them.

He sounds rattled. But he has a point when he questions KP. Kp kept on tweeting about Morgan being coward and as an ex- countrymen he should not be tweeting such crap. Its funny how they either go to one extreme og calling this team the best or going to other by just tweeting shit about them.

Ind Eng would be fun, either Eng bounces back in an convincing fashion or they are trounced completely and we start hearing all sort of nonsense news from their camp.

Yeap. I completely dissed T20 cricket before that tournament. But that run in tournament was superb. SA choking again at a home WC, England getting battered and an awesome semi against Aussies. We lost the NZ match but even then Sehwag and Gambhir scored something crazy like 70-80 runs in first 6 overs.
