RAWK Goes Into Meltdown 2016-17 Edition

Spot on @SteveJ

E.L James is on RAWK , I guess. Would explain the quality of writing.

He stares at me.
“I’m too intense?”
I burst out laughing.
“That’s putting it mildly!”

There we have it. Brendan is Christian.

Bailly, Mkhitaryan, ibrahimovic, pogba, Mourinho and throw in 200m more of signings still doesn't come close to extending Jurgens contract.
Made up.
Best signing of the summer, including whatever other business teams do.
Jackpot. Signing of the summer.
Knowing we have a manager like Klopp for so many years and Guardiola and Jose will be just a distant memory.
The biggest signing possible cos there's no use signing kids if the big daddy is lost.

Weird logic! Claims it as the best news of the year but then goes on to say those who in recent past got a contract extension all were binned soon but Klopp somehow will be different!

This is the best signing and best news of the year so far. No doubt.

There are some people still interpreting this negatively. This is not the time for that.

However, let me help the negativity with a little fear from the past too: with recent managers at Liverpool, I tend to remember a couple of them who did very well, but then things went tits up when they signed a long contract.

I think in recent years it happened to Rafa (after making us one of the best in Europe), Dalglish (after proving he still has it), Rodgers (after nearly winning the league) and I think Houllier too if my memory serves me right.

To the contrary, I believe Klopp will be the first to place an end to that trend.

And the best one,
Come to think of it this could be a monumental day in our modern history.

I was thinking if there was any other person in the world right now better suited to be in charge of our entire football operations than Jurgen Klopp and I honestly can`t think of a single one.

With his experience and contacts in the game you`d probably back Klopp to delegate right people to organize our recruitment and academy if he deemed needed which could have a profound positive effect on our long-term future.

FSG played a blinder here, there was no need to invent hot water when you have one of the best football minds in the game at your club and it`s really encouraging to know that Klopp is willing to accept this added responsibility and give his best to push us forward and allow us to grow as a football club.

As far as I`m concerned our future is extremely rosy.

This is from someone who predicted the title last year because Sturridge, Benteke, Balotelli, Firmino and Ings are too hot to handle. I see he's predicting the same this year again because Sturridge, Mane, Firmino, Lallana and Coutinho will be causing havoc in opposition's defense!

A monumental day in our modern history - When Klopp Signed a new 6 years extension. The fate of mankind as we know it changed forever. :D

ahh pre season. The fountain of glistening optimism

Signing Pogba would indeed feel a bit hollow, knowing deep down they have Klopp

A 1-0 win over Tranmere with the best possible starting XI (excluding those who were in Euros/Copa) today works perfectly, soon "it's their year" again.

It's like that moment in 2001 when a bunch of monkeys surrounded a Playstation 2.

That quote makes me want to bang my head against the fecking wall. How the HELL can they honestly believe that Emre Can and Pogba are on the same level?:lol::lol:

Don't you remember the 'Messi or Yossi' threads? They were essentially arguing Yossi Benayoun was a better player so why would anyone want Messi??

No. I don't read RAWK and I wouldn't have been a football fan back then (it would have probably before I became interested in 2010).

But Jesus Christ, seriously? Were they actually saying that Yossi fecking Benayoun is better than Messi? Jesus Christ. That's actually unbelievable.

The delusion is strong with them mate.

Very strong.

I know. They are incredibly deluded. Jesus, if delusion were an Olympic sport, they'd get gold.

Hell, if the Premier League was won according to how deluded a team's fanbase is, they'd win it.
Nah, they'd still find a way to finish mid table. They'd get to the point that it's within their grasp and suddenly slip into a bizarre state of non-delusion.

I like Klopp. Well, liked. I think he's a more than decent coach. I think he'll improve Liverpool. But not enough to get top four because everyone else will improve too. But the delusion over there is remarkable. They talk about him like a god, How he's a genius because he won 2 Bundesliga titles against the mighty Bayern. Sure, it's not easy to break Bayern's dominance in Germany. He did well, but Wolfsburg and Stuttgard also won Bundesliga titles in the last ten years. It's not like Bayern had won 10 in a row before the Mighty Klopp arrived.

Anyway, I know we say it every year (we're a bit like Liverpool) but I think this year could be the best Rawk Meltdown year yet. They really believe that Klopp could win them the League, Champions League, World Cup, Stanley Cup and the Ashes.

His team was excellent I won't deny that but the first title he won there was a lot of complacency on Bayern's behalf.

Although i can't quote the actual posts, just had a look over on RAWK, suddenly they've all become experts on "Mourinho Type" players - Convinced themselves Jose will try to change his style and that Bobby Charlton has demanded that Mourinho makes the football more pleasing on the eye!

Scousers, gotta love #em

Banter

Arsenal Football Club is going to win the Euro now, isn't it?

Let me just check....

So if France win, Giroud plays for Arsenal so that's another European Championship trophy for them

If Portugal win, Nani was born in Cape Verde, which is also where Gelson Fernandes was born, and he plays with Xhaka at international level who plays for....THE WINNERS OF EURO 2016 ARSENAL!

Yaaaaaaaay

Put it this way at the start of next season we could have Koscielny Mertersacker Ozil Giroud and Sanchez playing for us. That's a lot of gold.
Its good to have players who don't miss winning trophies because they do so every season.
Unlike Coutinho.
It'll be like this next season, world cup winner, passes the ball to a European championship winner, he passes the ball to a copa America winner, who passes back to a world cup winner, who passes back to a European champion, and then they do it all over again.
Buzzing.

That must be the dream. To have a team full of successful international players who have won less than Jon Beausejour in England.

Apparently Liverpool has a more thoughtful and balanced squad :D
It is interesting how many of those players are a poor fit under Mourinho.

United really lack some of the key players Mourinho likes (big CM's and wingers especially), and even if he manages to sort the first XI into a coherent system the bench doesn't offer much in the way of what he'd like.

It's pretty incredible that United are where they are with regards to their squad given the vast amounts of money they've spent. Compare that to us where most agree that a CM and LB is all that's missing (plus a bunch of exits) and it really puts into perspective how much more thoughtfully our squad has been put together (both in a financial and footballing sense).
I am actually a bit surprised by their signings so far. Ibrahimovic doesn't defend much, Mkhitayan is not exactly a two-way player of the Willian type, and Baily is pretty young and raw. Not exactly Mourinho type signings.

It will be interesting to see if he can adapt. I certainly don't see him being flaxible enough to do that on permanent basis. On the other hand, Guardiola and Conte look like better fits for the squads they inherited. Add Klopp, Wenger, Pochettino and their teams to the mix, and you can see how difficult it will be for Mourinho. I see people talking about Manchester United as league title favorites, but in reality it will be difficult for them to get back into the top 4.
Can't even be bothered to comment on these two.

On Madrid pulling out of Pogba transfer -

That is some seriously good news. Imagine what a proper manager like Simeone, Conte or Emery could have done for them with those £200 million. Mourinho at Manchester United is a gift sent from heavens.

Do they actually believe some of the bollocks they type, or are they just trying to show whos the biggest Liverpool fan?:wenger:

They're giving themselves a false sense of security by rewriting the same lines like "Mourinho is shit" or "He's going to ruin them". They think by saying these over and over it will come true. You have to be pretty deluded or scared to say that you are happy with us bringing in Mourinho, Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan, Pogba.

"That is some seriously good news"
