Massive credit to the film crew, the opening shot with his poor dog, really brings out the bleakness. Yeah I also found his excuse so predictable that I was surprised he even bothered with it. Personally I have would gone for a classy line and said it wasn’t a porno but a very charge french thriller from the 1970’s.

I’m a millennial, so it’s mostly just hot estate agent shows man around 3 bedroom house only to reject small offer.
His excuse seems to be changing if now it's tractor-based porn he looked at twice. The guy looks like he's either about to burst into tears or have a stroke in that vid.

:lol:Porn in Asia seems to revolve around hot lithe women and older overweight guys.

Not that I feel sorry for him because in the end he is a Tory but there’s really nothing he could say that wouldn’t make the situation worse. It’s one those thing that we all collectively laugh at while acknowledging we also watch some odd stuff.

As much as we joke there properly is some economic and social undercurrents as to why different parts of world watch certain type of porn. I remember a map of the US, the showing viewing trendsetter and the most conservative parts actually watch a lot of LGBT stuff.

Anyways thank you for listening to part one of my ted talk. In the next section I will prove the rate of profit to fall over time with Riley Reid gifs.

True. A lot of these states it seems have very limited access to things like gay bars or as you say it’s not acceptable to be openly gay.

Still a lot these conservative states also seem to be near the very top when it comes to search for LGBT content. Maybe I’m under estimating the number of gay people in this states but this also must mean a lot of homophobic people are search for this porn as well.

By LGBT stuff, do you mean gay (male) porn? If it includes lesbians, I'm not sure that's saying a lot. If it includes the T, that's saying a lot a lot.

From what I remember it was male porn.

I don’t think I can link it but pornhub did a “study” in 2014 with buzzfeed on viewing habits and reported the results. Tbh it was a mix bag and it wasn’t the case for all conservative states but it was interesting.

Same with trans porn as it was watched at lot in same of the most conservative states as well.

How desperate are the Tories?:lol::lol:
I'm sure Farage and the Brexit party decided not to stand in 2019 totally of their own volition, without any meetings at all with the conservatives.

Its appalling to see how emboldened they've become with their 80 seat victory but important I guess to try to remember that this is their first proper working majority since they came back into power in 2010 (couple of years post 2015 aside, where it was kind of destroyed by Brexit). I think they'll end up doing what they did last time when in power. Eventually mire themselves in so many scandals that the public will get fed up of them. How long that will take we'll still have to see I guess.

I was just looking at the 1997-2005 Labour general election victories and realised that Labour would have still won all 3 elections (with an outright majority still in 97 and 2001) if they had won 0 seats in Scotland.

Of course, you'd prefer them to also win in Scotland but was a bit surprised by this as the prevailing opinion on here seems to be that England is lost totally and without Scotland, its hopeless.

FFS. Always felt as if I would be a Green voter should all else be equal. Back between Labour and the Lib Dems again.

I get why many feel as if they have no political home, but I’ll always vote tactically and be happy to vote in opposition for the worst possibility.

What is their reasoning for leaving NATO? What a load of crap.

I don’t know, but it is one thing to have been a NATO sceptic three months ago, and another thing to be so now. Look at how Finland and Sweden have shifted dramatically.

It’s a level of stupidity that possibly surpassed Brexiteering.

I would imagine buying in to the narrative promoted by a certain section of the left that NATO is an aggressive/expansionist military alliance. Combined with a general utopian pacifist outlook.

Notable how much more sensible the German Greens are - party in power vs party of protest.

This time last year, I thought NATO was a pointless futility. Now, I am not sure. Putin is a maniac.

@Sweet Square

Can explain the meticulous thinking behind the policy with an Andrew Neil/ Dr Strangelove meme which replaces a workable defence policy these days.
Appreciate the support! Tbh talking about a workable defence policy while also supporting nukes could be a scene from Stranglove.

I’m not a member or ever voted for the Green Party but just from a quick google it seems
they were against NATO turning Libya into a giant open slave market(Although I haven’t check their actual voting record).

To me they are bunch god dam hippies! And Leaving NATO but only after whatever happens with Russia and Ukraine is just weird.

Because the history of Labour winning elections has always been based in winning votes in England, Scotland and Wales. To an extent there was always a swing from the Tories to Labour in all three.

Labour have never had to win an election knowing Scotland was lost. Even if it targeted primarily English voters in 97 and 01 it could count on a majority of Scottish seats as a baseline or buttress to the victory.

UK government drops maternity charity after critical tweets

https://www.theguardian.com/money/2...drops-maternity-charity-after-critical-tweets

A charity that champions the employment rights of pregnant women and new mothers has been dropped from a government advisory board after posting critical tweets.

In recent months, senior Tories including the culture secretary Nadine Dorries and her predecessor Oliver Dowden have taken pains to position themselves as champions of free speech, decrying “cancel culture”.

So it came as a surprise to Maternity Action, the charity said, when it was removed from the group tasked with advising on workplace discrimination after its director aired her views on social media about the limited scope of the board and a lack of progress.

Ros Bragg tweeted: “We have an advisory board looking at ‘non-legislative improvements’ to reduce maternity discrimination which will meet quarterly until March 2023. No action plan. No recommendations for legislative change.” After highlighting recommendations from the sector, she added: “Disappointing”.

The charity told the Observer that officials referred to the tweets when it was told it would be removed.

----

And this Government has just taken over control of the Electoral Commission.

The Telegraph reports the latest on Neil Parish, who of course said the first time he came across the porn site accidentally, but the second time was deliberate.

It appears that there's a popular make of combine harvester (which he owns) called a Dominator and his friends think that's what he was searching for online. So ... I suppose it's possible that's what happened on the first occasion.

I really don't understand Dan Hodges. Presents himself as a Labour member, but excoriated Miliband and Starmer for being too left wing and electorally incompetent. Voted for Johnson as Mayor of London. Seems to want to give the impression of being liberal, but a strident defender of Tory Governments.

When the Green's don't win the next election it will be because their leader wasn't green enough, was a blue green, was a red green, or because the voters needed to be called stupid and uncaring more often and the youth quake hasn't arrived yet but is coming along any day now.
I think you've missed the point.

Nope, I got the point. The Mail turning Rayner's making light of a horribly untrue and misogynist story to friends into a massive gaslighting episode.

I just am confused about Dan Hodges more generally and how he presents himself. The Mail probably allow him to write these stories because he was once a Labour member so it doesn't feel like partisanship. Or something.

Also, it massively feels like he has got Stockholm Syndrome since he started working there. He wanted Labour to return to the 'centre' after Corbyn and he is now attacking Starmer for being too woke, too left wing and too extreme.

Oh I can agree with all that. I was quoting a different poster.
