@Niall the match day section is looking wonderful. Great job.

Btw, are these changes you have to implement within he xenforo framework or it's a predesigned thing the offer?

Really no idea how LVG will approach this. First game in charge, he might want to pick a 'strongest XI' and start with a bang. But it's the weakest opposition we'll be playing on the tour, so maybe he'll see this as his big opportunity to play lots of youngsters. Or maybe he'll use it to give the players he's thinking of ditching a chance to change his mind, so Woodward has as much time as possible to get rid of any deemed surplus.

We just don't know. I mean, we all assumed he'd take the best youngsters, but as it turns out he's taken the ones on whom a decision to promote or sell is needed most urgently, leaving behind those who have time on their side.

Will there be a conference for the game? If so, when?

It's bespoke within the XF framework.

Going to the game and will be tailgating. Really can't wait for this one. Should have taken today off too, today is going to be completely unproductive.

I wish this wasn't on at stupid o'clock for this side of the pond.
I feel your pain. I'm central US (tx) and early kickoff games during the season are brutal on weekends after a night out.

At least the World Cup games weren't bad for y'all. Russia 2018 will be a pain for us in the USA..

Thankfully it's 2014 and we have DVR.. This one I'll be watching live, though. 10pm for me :D

Hoping to see some of the young lads get a chance, especially Keane and lingard. Can't wait to see Herrera, either

I just remembered how bad we were on tour last season. It was like the begining of the end.

I hope Van Gaal give opportunity to youngsters but also give us some sort of image what can we expect and chose strong starting XI.

It actually might be the strongest opposition that we play on tour. They are in the middle of their season and all the other teams are just starting their preseason and might not be upto scratch.

we don't get MUTV in the States and I think the chances of a pre-season game being covered are about zero.
Fox Soccer coverage of Seattle Sounders vs United in 2011-12 pre-season

ESPN coverage of Chicago Fire vs United in 2011-12 pre-season

Looks like you may not need MUTV?

It's bitter laughter, we don't get MUTV in the States and I think the chances of a pre-season game being covered are about zero.

Though I do recall a Chelsea vs. MLS All-Stars pre-season game making it onto ESPN.
How long have you lived in the states or how long have you watched the football coverage here? You've missed a lot of pre-season football between ESPN and FOX since 2003. I almost can't believe your post.

Even as early as 2003 in the first international football challenge, the games were all over TV. Can't see how he missed all these games over the years if he's really into football.

Excited to see Ander for this more than anything.

Can see there being a few last chances in the next couple of games.

Do we know if De Gea is fully fit from the knock he picked up at the WC?

Good thing I'm fasting and have to wake up around 2ish anyway or I think I'd be giving it a miss. Is anyone else getting up at 4 to watch it?

I don't get why people are either staying up or getting up at stupid o'clock to watch this game when it'll be repeated virtually all day on MUTV. The times being at 6.30 am, 11:00 am, 3:30 pm, and 7:30 pm. Surely that's more convenient? Or is it just because it's LvG's first game in charge?

I think Van Gaal understands the importance of coming strong out of the gates. I expect a strong line up to start and a wave of subs at half.

I'm really liking this new match thread layout. By the way with the score and line up predictions do we get points for guessing right? Could be a fun thing to see who get it right more.

I don't have cable, I watch them all online.Obviously I don't recall a single pre-season game being on anything in the States.

You're telling me ESPN had United pre-season games on in 2003?
