I have to ask mate did you mean to reply to someone else?

In my post that you quoted i said Ibrahimovic is the best striker in france and his scoring record this season has been unbelievable.

Your reply seems like it was directed at someone who was trying to discredit Ibrahimovic's scoring record.
Sorry if it came across like that. I'm just building on your point. It's aimed at the daft people who somehow think that having a player like that in the team for a few years is a waste of time and money.

Ah fair enough mate. I will admit i do think it's a risky move myself, all transfers are of course. But i think i wasn't sold on it because of his age but it's hard to argue with his performance levels in the last few years.

So with it looking like he's coming here i'm obviously hoping for the best for him. If he manages even half the numbers he has the last few years he will be a success. 20-25 goals from him at 35 in this United side in his first year in England would be some achievement.

Of the others mentioned, I do think Higuain would be a huge signing, but he would probably cost an absolute fortune. Gameiro always catches my eye as well to be honest, Lukaku is a like a young Rooney at times.

Wherever he ends up it will be interesting to see just how PSG fare next season without him. Should really give us an idea of how good he is.

As a football fan I would be delighted to see Zlatan playing in the Premiership so fingers crossed you sign him, even though he will likely score a hattrick against my beloved Spurs.

Vardy
Lukaku
Higuain
Milik
Janssen
Ighalo
Gameiro
Slimani
Raffael (Borussia Monchengladbach)
Cavani

I'd rather take a risk on any of these 10 than Ibra - that is how little I think he will contribute to this team.

That list is only of player who I expect to be very attainable. Not to mention 2 option who would fit the bill perfectly - Kane and Aubumeyang. I know they will be almost impossible to get.
Mate turn off the internet please.

Does anyone actually believe he's coming to United? Can't see it myself. He'll sure as hell use us to negotiate a better deal elsewhere however.

Well they'll still p*ss the league and probably win the cup due to the standard of the opposition in France, so it won't provide much of an indication really.

I can't believe he listed Cavani. Same Cavani who has been shifted on the wings by two managers because he's not better than Zlatan.

The 13 million we potentially spend on Zlatan's wages would barely cover the agent fees for some of the players mentioned. Given that the team requires a lot of work I would be happy to see this as a stop gap and the transfer kitty invested in pacy wingers and a central defender.

Our forwards weren't great this year but I think Rooney, Zlatan, Martial and Rashford would be a great line up if they were getting better service

That list is Incredible. Apart from Higuain, all of the strikers mentioned are one or two levels below him. As of now he's more comparable to the likes of Aguero etc rather than Ighalo.

Ighalo's a brilliant one too. I like this attitude that having an average 25-year old is better than having one of the best players in the world who happens to be 35 because they'd be here longer. It's all about longitude. You're stuck with an average player for years but no worries, it's better than having Zlatan winning trophies for you for just 2 years.

So we're still discussing wether or not to sign a guy who scored 50 goals last season? On a free transfer?

Get well, lads.

What amazes me the most about these anti-Zlatan posters is that they think there are some magic expiry date on players. This is hugely individual, as displayed by for example Rooney vs Giggs vs Maldini.

I could understand the reservations if Zlatan came from an injury ridden and mediocre season, but he just had one of the best season in his career. That he is in the twilight of his career suits us just perfect since we basically have two of the biggest striker prospects in the PL playing for us.

I will just refrain from commenting on that list, but I recommend the poster to print it out, tape it to the wall and sit and stare hard at it for like an hour or so.

Raffael is 31 and doesn't score much, why is he on the list?

It's still 4 years younger. Also you need to consider wages. €10m we might spend on Zlatan's salary might ruin United.

It's not necessarily "anti-Zlatan". I'm a fan of the player, but not a fan of signing him. We play in the Premier League where as a striker you're shut down immediately, you're not given time on the ball, you're not given space. He is technically brilliant, no doubt about it. But can he keep up with the pace of the Premier League?

We have the likes of Memphis, fast and skillful, who have struggled to keep up with the pace of the league, and yet we believe Ibra can? I'm not even sure he'll have the fitness to go a full 90 in this league. That's where people's concerns lie. It isn't about his talent - no one can deny he has ability. I just personally don't believe he'll even manage to hit 15 Premier League goals because he won't be given the time to do what he does best.

Yes, the multi billion pound club will be ruined by £10mill in wages, you do realise 300k a week goes to Rooney's pie club right?

I think many defenders will be wary of Zlatan because they know he can make a mug of them. I think some will compete but they'll know he can flick it behind them or produce some skill to make them look silly. He's a big strong lad. They say great players have time on the ball or make space and I think it will be something like that - because they'll be in two minds.

I think he'll be a real positive for us - not because of his name but because his movement is as good as most in their prime.

The only worry is that age will eventually catch up with him. As long as it doesn't tie us down to a long term deal then it would be a no brainer. Hopefully he'll have another year or two in him at the top level.
