I'm living in the real world. Not in FIFA 16. Genuine desire to want to play for a club counts for a lot. Look at all the most successful big money moves recently. Bale openly wanted to join Madrid, it was his dream. Suarez and Neymar were the same with Barça. There is not one shred of evidence that Pogba respects United. Let alone has a desire to return and lead our midfield. That's the reality.
There is a lot more evidence stating that he does want a move back to United than not. And I'm talking about what Pogba himself has said, not what the media claims he wants.

When has Pogba actually stated that he wants to go to Madrid or sees himself playing there? If so, link? I've requested this many times in the past, but I never get the facts. Pogba has stated that he still fancies United and has many friends here. He didn't want to leave, but felt he had to. His words.

Is he normal?
The only Twitter accounts worth even remotely believing in any transfer saga are always the player, the agent and the 2 clubs. 99.9% of others are just inventing stories for attention. There's no way of knowing the legitimate 0.1%.
So what are you doing in this thread then? Go setup camp in the Manchester United Forum.

The mere mention of AS,. MARCA, Zidane or Madrid, thread becomes:

Yes. Surprised that no one has mentioned the updated odds on Skybet. Leaning more and more towards a Madrid move :wenger:

On a serious note, I'm really tired of all these so called reliable papers(l'Équipe, Stampa etc.) reporting that we are close to a done deal when they all make sure to make stupid reservations such as "payment structure needs to be sorted", "subject to Raiola's fee being sorted", "Barring any last second surprises" etc. As long as they make these reservations I don't see any reason to believe any of it. Let's wait for something conclusive/something from the BBC.

How are the people being hysterical over nothing (according to this thread) different from the hordes of idiots who are 100% sure he's signing any day now, also based on nothing?

Damn, I would not hooked upto "the matrix" 4 hours ago.
I got a little behind.
:wenger:
no problems. To basically cut it short, we agreed the fee, everyone seems to have compromised their positions slightly, and now it's down to payment type and woodward confirming.....IF nerozzi is right. Next big update is Di marzio which should be today.

The bloke who broke the news on twitter gets the digital version of la stampa going off what he said.
Ic. Its not on their website

As promised

Pogba will leave Juventus as a 100m euro signing although the fee for United will actually be 115 (the rest will go for various commissions including that to Mino). Yesterday Mino had met Beppe Marotta and they have sorted out the last details details. Woodward will be in contact with Juventus either today or tomorrow and to sort the deal. Pogba was signed as a free transfer from United and will leave for a big sum. That's the deal of the century

PS: Calciomercato wasn't that optimistic though (I posted it previously).

Real are CL champions, United 5th in the EPL. Their manager Zidane is a French legend that he likes. La Liga is the most attractive league for the star players, etc. There is plenty of indirect evidence even if there are no quotes. Only a very optimstic person would think that Pogba would prefer to play for United right now.

Putting forward an opinion, same as the other 675 pages have been so far :). This isn't a Twitter only thread by the way, I'd like to see more opinions about whether people actually want him and where he would fit in. With the rumours it's becoming a farce.

Now isn’t the time to talk about it. Pogba interests everyone. He’s a great player and when you’re Madrid, you always want the best.
Zidane was then later asked whether Madrid would need to sell James Rodriguez in order to fund a move for Pogba. His response was pretty clear: “James plays for Real Madrid. I’m not going to get involved in the ‘one must leave so another can arrive’ talk. James is going to stay at Real Madrid.

Looks like clickbait fooled everyone :lol:

How do you know he doesn't want to play for us? You are just drawing conclusions based on speculations.
No, it's what you choose to believe.
I think he did praise the club in past and left the door open, the fact he has not kicked up a fuss so that Madrid can low ball Juventus and happily agreed to come to us means, he has a connection to us. He is not getting forced to come back.

"I don't know where I want to go". That was Pogba's response when pressed on a move United. Hardly a ringing endorsement is it guys? More like a 'come and get me' to other clubs. Including that "great club" Madrid to use his own words. Evidence? He left us once before! Here's where the quote is from:

Yeah but that also allows for staying at Juventus and not offending anyone if the deal falls through. You can look at it however you want. Also it makes the saga more interesting. You are saying he wants to go to Madrid and that's fine. But he never said he wanted to go Madrid did he?...There are zero rumors he's agreed terms with them....

Everything about this is open ended but that doesn't mean anything. The biggest transfer is made better when other clubs were considering paying the same price...

Yes because a player has to be 100% committed to us and we need to be their first choice or they're not welcome here. Guess we should get rid of De Gea then too. :)

This post sums up my point. This is how the media looks at it. Not every player wants to play for Madrid. I'm sure Pogba admires Madrid and maybe he has thought about trying to sign for them one day. But there are no actual facts pointing to him wanting to play there right now. Its all speculation. Maybe he wants to make a return to United(the team he played for in his teens) and help them regain glory? We have one of the best managers in the world and we play in the best league in the world(arguably). Maybe he wants a challenge? Speculation goes both ways. The only facts revolve around United.

I never said he came out and said he wanted to go to United. And why would he right now? He and his agent are trying to maximize the fee and acting like he doesn't want to leave is the best angle. I only stated that Pogba has openly shown more admiration to United than Madrid.

Money > Desire
And I assume you are happy with Ibra's desire? And Depay? And Januzaj? And etc, etc?
This isn't the nineties. Players use their current club to achieve their goals. If Pogba wants to use us so he can end up at Madrid then I'm fine with it.
If he wants Madrid to buy him from us then he has to improve even more, so that Madrid is willing to pay the price - OUR price. Which will be more than what we paid in the first place.

De Gea was put in his place. Thankfully. You can do that with a player under contract, unlike one we are trying to get to sign a contract.

He has to want to go somewhere. He's been quoted as having no issue with United. If he had any problem returning, we'd know about it by now. The fact he's considering it or it's a possibility - at a time we're in the Europa is a big compliment. It don't appear like he'll be signing an extention at Juventus. We hear for a period, Juventus wanted to keep him. No contact. There's no talk of that anymore. All it is, is negotiations between the clubs..That should tell you something..

That has got to be the worst argument you've posted in a while. Keeping a player who is contracted against his will is acceptable, but a player who isn't contracted to us who is willing to join us, is unacceptable? I'm done here.
