If Lukaku still ends up at Chelsea or staying at Everton after BBC reported the deal as agreed, I really won't know what to believe anymore.

Unfortunately in the social media age, I'm no longer able to just check manutd.com to see when United announce something.
Well it seems we agreed a deal with Everton, now we need to sort out the rest. Nothing unusual imo, especially since Chelsea can still agree a deal and try to get him

£75 fecking million?

People hated Rooney's awful touch for the last 5 years - Lukaku's is gonna make people go mental. Not excited for this transfer at all.

I'm a bit concerned with his first touch and occasionally static demeanour at the front.
That is my concern too, although he is probably one of the best replacements we could have got for Ibra in the current market (haven't seen Morata play so can't comment on him). He is also rapid so would help in building our counter-attacking play. Jose got his first choice on striker and that's the most important thing for now!

I really really really hope this is not true.

But then again, it feels like when Moyes was appointed, so it probably is.

When are people going to realise massive fees are needed when you are in our situation? We are paying United tax every time.

Doesn't help we boast how rich we are every other week.
Even still, do you think any side was signing him for anything much lower than that? Everton always get decent fees and Lukaku is a big name (that they already spent £30million on).

What type of striker is Lukaku? What's his strengths? Is he a striker who gets in the right positions and tap it in or is he more of a distance shooter?

I like this. I am a Lukaku fan. Big, quick, clinical and very ambitious. A real Jose type of striker.
Yep, always felt Jose was trying to find a 2nd Drogba in Lukaku. Now maybe he's seeing what he wants to see in him to make that happen.
People keep saying 'flat track bully'.

I wonder what they think our main issues have been for the past 2/3 seasons.
Fair point right there. Beating and drawing with the top sides hasn't been our struggle.

Great news. He will be a monster for us.

Hopefully we sign Morata too.

He might not be a particularly glamorous signing but I don't understand the resistance to us signing Lukaku from a few fans. Granted, he still has a number of inconsistencies in his game but what 23 year old doesn't? His record in this league is pretty amazing, all things considered. He's scored 15 or more league goals in all but 1 of his 5 seasons as a starter in the Premier League.

Might be me but considering Lukaku's age and goal scoring record, the fee is reasonable.

Surprised so many are against this signing. He is pretty much guaranteed 25 goals a season. He has been prolific for West Brom and Everton, he will be prolific for us. And we can't argue with 75m in the current market; young, proven in the league, experienced, guaranteed goals. Good signing.

He seems hungry to prove he's better than Kane too. Nothing wrong with that.

Confused this attitude from lots of people - Madrid will be delighted to keep Morata it isnt some sort of loss for them
It will be if Morata is mad at them for screwing up his preference.

That's a big feck you to Real Madrid! I'm sooo happy we didn't bend over for them. Now they have an unsettled Morata to deal with. Somebody else can haggle with them now. And United can slap a cool £100m price tag on De Gea if they want.

Feck 'em!

That one was totally out of the blue. I think the last time I woke up to something like this was the day we had bids accepted for Nani and Anderson.

Very happy with this news. Huge transfer fee but he guarantees goals and I truly believe he'll be worth every penny.

Shaken, and very stirred......
This forum is depressing at times. I can understand preferring one over the other but Lukaku is literally one of 2-3 top strikers in the PL (therefore proven).
I ignore all the doom mongers when the player hasn't even set foot on the pitch yet. There isn't a player in the world that wouldn't split the Caf apart from perhaps Messi......and even then.......!!

It also means we don't directly fund their potential Mbappe deal. Which makes me feel a bit better.

I'm sure a less than perfect first touch is more palatable when the player in question is also supplying 20 plus odd league goals.

Refused 75m euro. That's really greedy.

It's done deal. People need to stop panic.
