Many german football fans here told us about him. Nothing really new about his mentality.

I am a bit surprised our or jose's scout team took a risk with him as I would think they would hear about it a bit at least.

But, speaking all of it, the story could be shit and he could still become a very good player for us.
Probably thought it was worth a punt on the cheap with his contract running out. But yeah, all the warning signs were there. It's a shame. Seems like a decent guy and a good player when confident but it's probably best for all concerned to move him on asap.

If we do sell him in January no one can say that he wasn't afforded all the opportunities to succeed, it's him that hasn't taken them. He's been shit all season, there's no hiding from that, I just hope the money we generate from selling him is already lined up to sign a quality replacement winger.

Correct decision, but we should remember that without his Europa League goals we wouldn't be in the Champions League now.

How can anyone defend Mhki. Last season pretty much all our attackers were underwhelming apart from Ibra. This year they've all stepped up apart from Mhki so how can Mourinho be blamed for that.

He was signed to be an key part of our attack and in his run of 8 games while Pogba was out is probably the worst I've seen of any player here with reasonable expectations other than Rooney under LVG. Clearly shown he's unreliable and I hope he's sold and replaced next month.

That's not necessarily true. There's no reason whoever was in the team instead of him wouldn't have scored instead, or another player. Football isn't as linear as saying take out player X and we lose his goals.

It's more likely if we had a better player in the team instead of Mkhitaryan we'd actually have scored more goals.

We shouldn't let him go in January unless there is a replacement lined up. I do think with what Mourinho said about everyone having a price that Mkhi is goner but surely there must've been a breakthrough with a potential signing for him to have made these comments.

No great loss if we sell him. Sign a proper winger or CM to replace him. We've got enough for the #10 role.

If we sell him in January I hope we bring someone in even if it’s recalling Pereira if we are able. We sold two last winter with nobody coming the other way and it almost cost us as the injuries piled up at the end of the season.

Pereira doesn't have the same natural talent that Mkhi has. His attitude? I've no idea. But he's not a natural replacement IMO

Utd shouldn't depend on the Europa though. He was a little underwhelming against top sides. Remember in the first match against City we played with 10 men for the 1st half, he was that anonymous

I knew from that City match that he was going to flop. He's so soft it's unbelievable. Hope we get a good fee for him.

He actually had a row with Jose? I don't believe that for a second. He hasn't got the bollocks and thats why he's leaving.

Man i hate when a talent like hime goes down the drain. I was very happy when we signed him but me being a fanboy of him already think its time to part ways

Same here. He's performances haven't been great but I also believe that he and the manager are not on good terms. He's still a good player imo, would flourish in another environment.

I can see some truth in it, if we put in mind him completely going out of the squad and not even making the bench.

His career here is done for sure. Just hope we replace him with a better player in Jan.

The moral of the story is... stop signing Dortmund players.
we should sell him to Arsenal. he'd fit right in there.

Even my son who has been defending him with vigour told me last night that it’s best to move on now. Just shows that past performance doesn’t always translate to future ones in a new environment. I was so excited when he arrived. Oh well.

Wherever he goes he will probably start playing like his old self again. Seems once creative players get away from yoke of being held back by the likes of Mourinho & LVG, with their negative tactics, they start thriving again.

His mental fragility was evident long before he came here. Everything needs to be rosy and going exactly as he wants for him to perform. All this talk about tactics being the reason for his poor form are ignoring he was quite shit under Klopp too, who's one of the best attacking managers around.

It's always been a mental thing with him. Far too soft for a top club that will consistently compete imo.

Seems a real shame, but apart from some patchy runs of form last season, especially in the Europa, and a strong first couple of months of assists this season he's been underwhelming.

Need a replacement though, can't just rely on Lingard , Mata, martial and Rashford to fill 3 positions each week.

If that story is true, it surprises me, I didn't thought Mkhitaryan had it in him to talk back to the manager during a video session. Kudos for him for defending himself. Again, now that Shaw has redeemed himself, it's time for another scapegoat.
I think it's great for players to be able to have a say and not be yes men all the time whilst living in fear. But I think with José being manager, he's done. It will take a miracle to cool José's ego in such situations, especially when players has been out of form. The player's form and José's style of management to manage certain personalities was the gunpowder, unfortunately Micky lit the fuse, if it's true.

Can’t we try him on our right wing? He looks clueless in the middle but his best Dortmund form came from the right wing. Maybe some time there could help. Else just ship him off if he fails at that too.

We've tried him at RW, he was useless there as well.

Writing seems to be on the wall for Miki. I could see Jose giving him 30mins or so against Bristol City, maybe a last-gasp effort to try and raise his confidence.

Dortmund was pretty good the first season. Second season was a flop. Klopp was tired and the team was exhausted with too many injuries. Mkhi didnt know his role in the team. I doubt that anyone did. It was a mess. They decided that they need a fresh air. Tuchel is not a soft coach, he is a tough guy and never gives an inch to his players. They were all focused and played well.

One thing that i noticed that since that Liverpools game Mkhi stopped running like crazy and fighting for the ball. I didnt see sparkle in his eyes anymore. He changed for some reason. I know why people started criticising him. He just wouldnt fight anymore. Not sure why. Jose has given Mkhi a 20 min sub chance to bring him back later to which Mkhi didnt respond well and Jose is punishing Mkhi now. The fact that Mkhi trained with the team and was left out against CSKA proves it. He was left out along with a bunch recovering from injuries. I dont think any proffesional will like that kind of attitude. Mkhi will leave. Nothing will change for Man Utd and Jose. Sad that didnt work because Mkhi would really shine in attacking United. Just read some posts from september, ud be surprised how things have changed.
I was at Houston watching how united smashed city in the pre season. It was increadible. Mkhi was gliding on the field. The team was attacking and it was one of the most enjoyable games i can remember. Comes november and we play the fecking bus again.
Dortmund as a whole was good but Mkhi had problem settling and being inconsistent. The second season, when you look at it without any bias, it's what we're talking about Mkhi: when the team need player to step up and hold down position to lessen burden for the coach after key players were out injured; the secondary (great individual talented) players didn't show up to be counted. Not only failed to step up but also look like being among the players who needed to be upgraded. Tuchel changed the dynamism of the team, that is for his credit. It's not to beat Klopp or an excuse for Mkhi against Mourinho.

If you're familiar with me, I already pointed out Mkhi being the liability since the Southampton game for same exact issue against L'pool: 1.failed to be an outlet to bring the ball out despite being less burdened in defensive phase (compared to our wide men); 2.failed to pressure opposition players no let them easily bring the ball; 3. Filed to be available for Lukaku to combine with when we decided to excuse Mkhi's short coming in carrying the ball up the pitch in point 1. Therefore, it's not a new thing since L'pool game (the highest of pressure), that stifled him into bad form. It's slightest pressure from the like of PL average intensity from the like of Southampton. Not being able to cope with that, it's huge trouble. Again, it's all down to Mkhi. Not because Mourinho threw him into the pressure cooker of big games (if anything we have other camps complaining about A,B,C... not being trusted more thus start more big games...) and broke him.

Pre season is kind of moot point to discuss as top teams can be spanked. They were whoring for money while treating the games as training sessions. Pressure is different, if not unexisting. At we arrive at it, it's the question on Mkhi's mentality coping with pressure and high expectation. No one is questioning his technician ability or pace. Using it as excuexes while complaining about tactic high profile real game is straw clutching at its best. Remember City played that as first pre season game. We're fitter & have better player for selection at that time. In this game we're facing more problem with fitness &selection with our players and that's the reality of real competition.

Be careful with words here my friend. The flock is gonna rip you apart.lol.

The truth is that Jose style used to work perfectly. Its quite outdated. No one does that anymore. Look at Klopp, Pochettino, Guardiola. They all promote attacking style. All Jose does in big games is put a lot of accent on defense and hope for his ultra class players to come up with something. When they stop listening or dont defend properly, they are out. That shit game aint gonna win titles anymore. Forget about CL or Premier League. Some League cup may be. By playing long balls you starve the middle and make the midfielders look like ghosts in a game. When he loses, the first thing he does is to blame the midfield for bot shining.
He said lately that Mkhi doesnt deserve to be ahead of youngsters. That says a lot about the current situation.
Just as I suspect you try to spin it on the coach, but not the player himself. Ironically in other post (which I just responded to, you also tried to place your blame on Klopp.

The whole point of outdated tactic & such is laughable. It is worth a thread to discuss on its own, but I'll leave it short here: Chelsea just ruthless grinding results and won the title. Chelsea ain't exactly expansive. What they have is quality player naming Hazard to carry the team as focal point when we have Mkhi who was hyped up to close to the same level when he was first signed.

I am from Armenia and I think it will be better for both club and him, if he will leave.

He will never fit in Jose's tactics, he is another type of player. Besides tactics, he also needs to feel manager's confidence - he started to play his best football when Tuchel started to play him 90 minutes every match (same situation was during his second year in Dortmund, when Klopp was subbing him in the middle of second half). Jose's player treatment is pathetic, he could be a good sub at least with his current bad form.

I already tried to explain in another post in regard of this before.

We was building around Zlatan who has better all around game and has quite impressive play making ability. Also he is strong leader. Mkhi job is to get those final ball which he had still been inconsistent. Now with Zlatan huge injury, we need to change. Lukaku ain't like for like replacement. Lukaku needs to be fed more, less involved for the oblivious reason; and is young and not (yet) the leader of the group. So Mkhi is expected to step up in both leadership as senior (by age, experience) and overall contribution.

Zlatan's injury was unexpected, while Zlatan's signing had big influence on decision on signing Mkhi.

Even what you said is true which i have my doubts, It would be idiotic planning to rely on an aging striker who has at most 2 years at this level and a guy like mhki.

Zlatan & Mkhi cost like under 30mil in transfer fee... We have young players who would plan for future even before Lukaku: Martial, Rashford. Mkhi and Zlatan was supposed to a short term fix to instill the winning mentality for the young guys, which they helped us to acceptable achievement last season.

Let's say Zlatan didn't get injured, and Griezmann deal went through, then I believe Lukaku would not be here. Griezmann is not no 10, but again both improve us in creativity and goal scoring in that scenario playing alongside with Mkhi. We wouldn't have to look at Ozil like we are, to replace Mkhi. Replacing Zlatan is on the book when first signing him. I doubt nobody see it. It's the matter of time & his injury changed a lot of planning.
