AgreedI'll always respect Mata, because no matter his form he always gives a shit.
He never seems to miss the target. Anything on the edge should be his all day long. It's ridiculous how few free kicks he gets to take.
It’s at least the 4th he’s scored, so that’s some achievement.Must be like the 3rd free kick he's ever taken for us
Arsenal at home last year. We were on top of them, then took him off to concede that gut wrenching goal from Giroud.I’ve no stats to back this up, but I feel like the amount of times he’s been taken off when we’re holding a lead, only to concede because we can’t retain possession well is somewhat considerable.
The fact that Mourinho generally doesn't prioritize ball retention and possession when sitting on a league is definitely costing us. Mata is a symbol of that.I’ve no stats to back this up, but I feel like the amount of times he’s been taken off when we’re holding a lead, only to concede because we can’t retain possession well is somewhat considerable.
He played really well and worked his socks off. Surprisingly wasn't left for dead when Gray sprinted forwards early in the first half - looked like he was about to explode, but well done. Mata makes us play better. Great game from him. Too bad Martial and Rashford were utter craaaaap tonight. Two super goals. Rest of his performance was ordinary.
He's been brilliant for a good few weeks now. In fact all of December. He's got 2 goals and 3 assists from 4 starts. The only other match he played in was against City and that was jut 8' coming off the bench. Did so much of the playmaking while Pogba was absentFair is fair. He's been brilliant tonight and the goals have just been icing on the cake.
We've a game in two days against on the leagues strongest defences. We could easily have been five one up. The draw is on the players in this this case. Why was him and Lingard taken off? Mourinho has some explaining to do. They were comfortably our only two good players tonight and yet we sub them off for Mkhitaryan who is heavily rumoured to be out the door next week and Ander Herrera who I can only assume was brought on to “kill the game off”
What a load of shite. City don’t stop and defend a one goal lead. They’re battering teams 3/4/5-0 on the regular. Leicester were there for the taking tonight. We could have easily scored 5 and the players should be held responsible for THAT but I don’t understand why you would deprive Mata off of his hat trick and then take off Lingard was making some excellent runs and passes. I just don’t understand that decision.
I can only think of one. But then he also got subbed off as a sub once, so I reckon that ultimately cancels it out.Has he ever finished a game under Mourinho?
