You're forgetting the key one - NOODLES.

An endless supply of noodles for both Sanchez, and his dog.

"You must be hungry from all this negotiating, Mr Sanchez..."
Exactly

Woodward's fingers are in so many pies it's unreal. Such grubby paws.

Neither would have sulked like he has this last 18 months. His attitude is a legitimate concern, surely?
I think its difficult for any player to perform once they've made a decision to leave.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
That's fair enough, to be honest I have not seen Mkhi much. I know he was cracking in Football Manager. :D
Mkhi probably has similar weaknesses to what most of your other 'pretty' attacking midfielders have in terms of inconsistency and seemingly not the strongest mentally when things aren't going right for him. So he's probably not what you really need. But I would say that in terms of talent he's better than what you have (not counting Ozil), so getting him in exchange for Sanchez (and maybe Ozil ;) ) would still be better for you than no player.

To be fair, he hasn't sulked for 18 months. During the mid part of last season it often seemed like Sanchez was the only one still trying his heart out long after the rest of the team had completely lost focus. It was only in the final months of last season where he seemed to get sick and tired of being let down by the rest of the team and manager. Once that happened then yeah his attitude went south bigtime, but I struggle to actually blame him.

A bit more on the situation sourced from Sky Italia:

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...r-United-London-meeting-transfer-news-Arsenal

“From what we know, there have been a few meetings already between Manchester United and Sanchez’s agents, one of them even in London in the past few days."
Obviously. No club just decides to throw their hat into the ring for heck at the last minute without proper planning. If we have bid, that means we have had discussions previously, its' just that the press didn't get wind of it.

Erm, Gomes is 17 years old and playing for our reserves. You can’t avoid signing a player that is borderline world class because you want to develop a 17 year old kid who has a very small chance of reaching a similar level. That would just be stupid wouldn’t it. If we were to develop Gomes, I’d rather see us sacrificing the minutes we’re giving Mkhitaryan, Mata, Herrera or Fellaini.
Erm, 13 years to 30. Do not want!

Wenger and Pep have a common enemy in Jose...
If Wenger has a say in it, he wont be dealing with Jose.

Don't want him..... not that I think he's going anywhere except City. No way he's giving up that PL medal. Plus his attitude stinks.

We on the other hand should invest in a proper youngish right winger. Can't be arsed shooing people into areas they don't really excel in.

Pep would be offering him just 20mn utd could be including mkhitarayan in the deal and given ozil is also likely to leave even if wenger hates mourinho he would be foolish to accept city's while rejecting ours.

Wouldn´t it have more to do with the fact that United are closer to Arsenal and that Sanchez could certainly improve United more than City at the moment? I think Arsenal would be more hesitant to sell to United/Chelsea/Liverpool/Tottenham than City.

He looked quality that season under Pep. He had a lot of injury issues and maybe that's what you are referring to. He was particularly excellent in one game v Real I recall at that time and I also recall seeing him in cl that season, can't remember the team, but he was man of the match in that game. Of course money and the lure of trophies are a big motivating factor, but I wouldn't underestimate the Pep factor in this
He did have injuries, he did have an excellent game against Real away, but he was pretty inconsistent and got substituted in some important games (semi-final against Chelsea). For example, that season was his worst goal/assist per game ratio in last 7 years. Of course, you have to put some of that down to mentioned injuries and settling down, but it wasn't great at all.

Pep factor does exist, as he wanted him then and wants him now. It must mean something to the player. But, I don't think it is big as some think.

If City are offering only around 20m and we ready to offer around 35m hypothetical, then Wenger might have no say cause the board might step in at the point.

No. Arsenal only care about one thing and that's profit.

Don't really like the move , Already have Martial and Rashford playing from the left, Sanchez is more effective playing from the left, he can play as a SF behind Lukaku but this will imply moving to a 442 formation which i never saw Jose doing , then again who's gonna play from the right then , who's gonna play LM , martial nah he's more like a LW

Wenger doesn't have to 'deal with Jose.'

Arsenal board will deal with Woodward and agents.

Tbf I am not finding this news shocking as this is very similar to our summer business. As per reports, we were very close to signing Morata and a couple of hours later club release a statement that a fee has been agreed with Everton for Lukaku. Malcolm and Lucas may well have been smokescreens

Bingo.

If City double the bid tomorrow he's off there. As soon as the new TV deal came into play the Arsenal board stopped even caring about Champions League qualification. With them profit and loss are the only results that matter.

This screams of Sanchez's team using us to tell Pep to get a move on.
Alexis ending up at United would be shocking to me. This whole thing seems like a textbook case of 'garbage news,' to quote the manager.

I don't think he's joining us...BUT Mourinho has a well documented history of his teams hijacking deals (Lukaku, Willian, Pedro)

Coutinho did fine?

Tbh I Sanchez has been ok (not great, not Sterling-poor).
He did okay but his form still dropped. Ronaldo with us was an exception but he had trophies to fight for.

Arsenal are such a pointless club these days i really wouldn't hold it against any of their players.

unless the player then refuses to move to United and decides to see out the last 6 months of his contract at Arsenal, fwiw if I was Arsenal and City offered £20m and United £35 and the player refused to move I'd keep him

In the realm of the hypothetical.....
If United were planning on a marquee signing to fill the #7 shirt, the club would have been looking to Griezmann at £85m etc...
Even at £35m, landing Sanchez would be achieved at a fraction of that initial cost, and would be every bit as marquee, for a player that is already Premier League experience.
