Why is everyone blaming Wenger when this has very little to do with him ?

Do you think Wenger sits round a table leading the negotiations?
Do you think Wenger has no say on the transfer dealings in the club? Do you think the club would buy/negotiate for players Wenger doesn't want?

Wenger was on the interview panel when they were hiring Gazidis for feck sake.

That's one of the big issues at Arsenal, Wenger has a hand in everything. He has a real problem with delegation.

He'll be the one asking for Martial.

Actually this is quite likely based on some Arsenal fans working for the club. Both Lucas Perez and Gabriel Paulista are probably non-Wenger buys. It's also likely that Elneny is not a Wenger buy either but a stat-DNA buy. Some transfers are specifically scouted by Wenger, while others are scouted by others and he agrees once all the work is done.

It makes sense from a negotiating standpoint to ask for the furthest thing and then come down to an agreeable price.

If I was Wenger I'd ask for a centerback instead.
No. That's not bargaining.
If I go to a shop and piss off the seller with a complete unreasonable offer, he will be angry that I don't take the negotiation seriously. A pissed off seller will be more difficult now to negotiate to even a reasonable price.

Give them Miki and Smalling for Sanchez and Ozil. No cash - just a straight swap and everyone leaves happy. Well as happy as you can expect to be after leaving your two best players run their contracts down to the bone.
You think it is as easy as just leaving Smalling and Mkhi at the door? They have to want to go there too you know? We can't just rock up, drop em off and leave with two new toys.

Maybe we can drive to the woods and leave them there.

Smalling's been good for us and Arsenal don't deserve him.

I don't think one depends on the other, he may want more club titles?
Of course. What guarantee would he have of getting those at city instead of united? Beyond a PL medal they won without him?

Di Marzio will be the one to say it's all agreed or otherwise before anyone else. Calling it now.

No. Miki and Smalling dont read the caf and hence believe they are actually capable of doing something better than moving to a lower placed team in trouble.

I reckon the deal is done and Alexis will skydive into OT at halftime tonight, run a lap of honour high-fiving everyone in the front row, then be raised up on a hydraulic platform with copious amount of pyrotechnics and dry ice cannon's blasting as ACDC rings out.

Then the 2nd half'll start.

Wenger is like a poker player who doesn't quite understand the game
 spot on. What an idiot he is. The Martial thing is a waste of everyones time not to mention the scattergun approach they seem to be adopting to replace him.

Getting rid of Smalling for Sanchez would be silly. Regardless of what people think of his ability, he's our most reliable CB, and he'd leave behind CBs who are either out long term, constantly in and out with injuries or still playing their way to fitness after a long injury. And Lindelof. Smalling is crucial right now given the fitness of everyone else before you even talk about ability.

Why are the clubs so stupid ? Inter wanted 45m + Martial, Spurs 20m and now Arsenal swap for Sanchez who has only 3 months left. ( i wouldnt consider if sanchez had 3 years never mind 3 months)

Obviously the sevilla loan thing !

Martial is staying. Period !

Martial?! Have they lost the plot? I wouldn't trade Martial for Sanchez + Ozil becuase they're both on EXPIRING contacts. FFS Arsenal just take the money

Gonna be embarrassing if we lose.

Arsene must think the Amazon vouchers he had for Christmas are magic.

I'd guess that if there was a suggestion made about Martial it involved Alexis and money rather than a straight swap.

Wenger's approach seems to be more stupid than Moyesies when he was here. Which is quite something when you think about it:lol:
