Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

I wake up to find this still isn't done?

Mourinho out.

I think most thought Mkhi would be sold in the summer anyway. Would tie up nicely to involve him in the Sanchez deal, as I can't imagine he'll get much of a look in after January.

Loads of office talk about Sanchez at my workplace. Granted my colleagues hate me so they aren't talking to me but still.

Key point from Neville. The 'can't break the wage structure' argument is redundant. As Neville points out, everyone (except those that believe City's PR team) know that players leaving near or at the end of their contracts get inflated wages. Ashley Young and Mkhitaryan are two players at United that earned bigger wages for that reason.

Yes and same thing happened at Arsenal years ago when Sol Campbell was on a higher wage than Henry and Vieira since he moved for free from Spurs. They refused to renew his contract with similar wage so he left again for free.

Every single person in my workplace is talking about this, saying its been wrapped up, there are "Welcome to Sanchezter" posters up on the wall & a burning effigy of Mkhitaryan on the car park...

Oh...i also work from home!

City probably feel he isn’t value for money considering the improvement seen in their existing players. Don’t see why Nev is acting so wilfully ignorant as if value is the same for every club.

There’s a load of factors to be taken into account

He is making the point assuming City will sign another attacking player in summer, which they almost certainly will. In that sense, talking about value etc is nonsense.

I'm on office with 3 women and a guy who doesn't care about football. I have noone to talk about Sanchez.

Anyway do you want your jaw snapped?

You know the world is going to shit when Manchester fecking City is complaining about other teams offering players too much money...

Somehow everyone in my house know Alexis Sanchez - the Argentinians, Venezuelans, Colombians, Peruvians and the rest. They barely know football, but they all know Alexis Sanchez. Better make this happen now Woody...
I've heard he is kind of a gay icon in south america so maybe that's why?

Lots of talk of dirty Sanchez at my workplace. Mostly in mind right now but still...

I reckon the wages get to be relevant once the big stars go in to get their contracts renewed. Not that money matters much if the club can afford it. However stupid the level of pay these guys get is ridiculous.

Minus side: Sanchez is an 'orrible playacting knobhead

Plus side: Mkhitaryan leaving, he's been awful & we get to laugh at Arsenal

Imagine if Miki goes on to be an Arsenal legend!

My fear is that he was a great player in Germany, could he find that form at Arsenal?

The definition of Arsenal legend is, well, let’s just say unthreatening these days. I mean, Walcott is probably the closest they have right now, no? Most games of any player for Wenger? Given that Mkhi has won feck-all before United anyway, will fit right in...

Folks, why the hate on Mkhi?

He's played a bit crap but not shown disloyalty or disrespect to Utd

Not impressed with the hate for Mkhitaryan.

Yeah. he's mostly been crap but he played a big part in us winning the Europa League and scored in the final.

So he'll be pretty good for them for a few seasons where they won't win anything, then move to us for half his actual worth?

I'm okay with that.

There's a good video on youtube showing all Sanchez's 80 goals for Arsenal. Worth a ten minute watch to pass the time if you're all fapped out/broke your F5 button/suffering from having your jaw snapped

I remember how happy he was after the Europa League final, so I feel bad for him now that he's being "encouraged" to leave the club. Part of me wants him to stay, despite the fact that his form now is pub league level.

I understand why some think him downtooling and showing a bad attitude is not good. Usually i would agree, but he is competitive and a winner in fairness. Even a half arsed Sanchez was better than the rest of the team. He doesnt fit Arsenal at all, especially mentality wise and being happy with top 4 must suck for someone wanting more. He will fit us and Jose like a glove, mentality wise for sure, the opposite of Mkhi basically.
I think this was typified last season when Giroud scored a late equaliser against Bournemouth and he ran to the fans to perform an elaborate "scorpion kick" celebration that they'd obviously planned ahead of time. You could tell that Sanchez (and the Ox who is another one who has gone onto better things) was furious and just wanted to restart to try and get a winner. I just thought that encapsulated Sanchez's character as a winner versus the Arsenal way of settling for mediocrity
