When we signed Lukaku, Ed came with the "smokescreen" tactic using Morata. When we sign Sanchez, he comes with the swap tactic.

What will Ed do in our next transfer ?
Get Barca to pay Messi’s signing on fee for us...

...so Mourinho can play him at left back. Amirite?

Can't believe it's happening, fecking Sanchez at Utd. Genuine world class talent who knows the prem, not cup tied for CL and bought in Jan for nowt? Forget the wages, that outlay is monthly as oppose to having to fork out 80-100m upfront on a transfer plus big wages. Also means we can consider a different transfer strat for summer and go big for CM. Biggest transfer coup I can remember given the circumstances, exchange for a player that wasn't even playing regular anyway...
He's 29 years old. That's around 80 in dog years, apparently.

It wouldn't make sense. Sanchez doesn't have to play on the left nor do we have to roll with 4231. Don't think Martial will get benched, Mata is probably first in that cue.

That's what I'm hoping. Nothing against Mata, but Sanchez is clearly a step up.

In terms of rolling with a 4231, Jose does like that formation unfortunately. Doesn't play it all the time, of course, but it's one he uses often. Maybe that will change with the acquisition of Sanchez.

He will magically convince Juve to give us Dybala on a free 5 year loan with them covering the wages.

I think Mata

-----------Matic-------Pogba------
Sanchez------Lingard------Martial
---------------Lukaku--------------

With Sanchez and Lingard interchanging positions
Pogba's no longer playing on the midfield right. And today Lingard was playing as #8 on the right of midfield alongside Pogba in 4-3-3, a position Mata won't certainly do with Mourinho. So, my guess is Mata is going to be dropped as well. But with a big if, the if Mourinho doesn't want Sánchez in his favorite position.

Yeah, it seems the obvious choice. With regards to the formation, it's probably the best fit now, but I hope we end up getting another top level midfielder in the summer. Freeing Pogba in a 433. Would also be interesting to see what a team with more pace and creativity can do with a Martial up top. Unlikely, but would be interesting in terms of tempo and fluidity.

Awful deal
I can see how it’s awful fo you to lose Sanchez. But at least you are getting a player who you guys had scouted heavily in 2006 and tried to buy. Mhiki might actually be a good player for you, with the football style you play.

Yea it is a bit ridiculous, we swapped Mkhi for Sanchez. Mkhi had 2.5 years left on his contract, his marketprice is surely around £35m, so we paid £35m (or whatever you would value Mkhi at) for Sanchez and not 0£. On top of that It seems that we had to also buy out Mkhi's contract to get him to agree to switch to Arsenal. I don't know what his salary is but I've been reading amounts between 140k and 200k per week so if it is true we bought his 2.5 year contract out than that would have cost us somewhere between £18m-£26m. That is not taking into account whatever amount we agreed to pay Sanchez as a signing fee, it is not taking into account how much money we are paying to Felicevich (Sanchez is agent) and it is also possible we are paying something to Railoa to make this swap deal happen. All that ofcourse on top of making Sanchez one of the best paid players in the world (his salary will be huge).

This deal is an absolute steal but to say we are getting Sanchez for free is really ridiculous.

Yeah, I don't know where you get your figures, unless you were present in the negotiations and/or drew the contract yourself. However, you forgot that we bought him for £26m and you value him at £35m. Fair enough, still we made a profit, God knows how, of £9m.

I also doubt we paid Mikhi's remaining wages, I don't think we are daft enough to do that.

Yup that is why he is on the midfield left in my lineup

From the start of the season, I said we should at least try to sign him, even though he was nailed on for City. Can't believe we actually succeeded.:drool::drool:
He could be the player next season that leads us to the title. So excited.

I just don't want to see another attacking player ruined at United. This guy for me was the best player in the Premier League for a while. Surely he will do the business.

I like that Rojo is there with him. seems like there's good camaraderie in the squad. him and rojo probably good friends. kinda feel for mkhi, shame it didn't work out, he'll be alright though, going to a big club
