There's no way people can justify him starting anymore. Was terrible with the ball at his feet and left Shaw exposed too many times so the 'aT lEaSt He TrIeD' excuse isn't valid.

He's basically doing a Rooney, he's lot all fluidity in his movement and his touch has gone too. We should've signed someone young that can run really.
I wish he was doing a Rooney, because if that was the case, he'd be scoring goals, regardless of performance. One thing Rooney always did.

At the moment, Sanchez is doing neither.

Another in a long list of expensive flops that we've bought in the last 5 years. It's very sad

Think Mourinho either needs to play him down the middle, or not play him at all.

Just go back to the 4222 we played at the back end of last season.

Been saying it since the end of last season. We need to sell and reinvest in the squad ASAP. I really wanted this one to work out, I wanted him when he was leaving Barcelona but he's just not right for us. Time to cut our losses.

Been saying it for months - the moment he signed for us was the moment our development as a team regressed to a halt. That first half of the season before he came we had 6 (?) games where we had scored 4 goals or more. It’s no coincidence.

One thing that consistently contributes to him losing the ball like a pub player is his stubbornness and arrogance in his first touch in tight spaces. He takes it on the inside of his foot while trying to the roll his marker - like mate you’re not 6 foot 5 and you’re definitely not as agile and quick as you were 5 years ago - why are you still playing like that? Fecking go back to square one where you stop the ball in front of you - hold your marker off and look for a pass and stop losing the ball. It’s quite insanse im having to say this about our highest paid player...

They can't all be flops, though, surely?

He was very good at Arsenal. Even on his bad days, where he would lose the ball often, he'd always contribute something. Not contributing at all at United.

That said, his performances are like night and day when you compare them to how he was doing in pre season, and I strongly believe that's because he's not playing down the middle.

See that’s the thing, people talk about one of his supposed positives as he puts in a shift and “makes an effort” yet Shaw was exposed all day today. Where is the effort that Sanchez supposedly does so much better than Martial and Rashford?

Feel like Arsenal have done us up like a Kipper with this one, and I get the feeling Mourinho is only starting him due to the wages he's on, he's hauling him off more often now and over the season I now actually believe Martial or Rashford have genuine hope of impressing Mourinho into making them the starter.

Getting a bit worried now.
Just doesn't look any sort of threat. It's all just coming in side little short passes that come off, and little chips losing the ball.

Worried it's all gone a bit Rooney, but in fairness would like to see him under an attacking manager

Sanchez is finished, he had no football in the summer and a full pre season - yet he continues his abysmal form contributed absolutely feckal to the team play. More a liability if anything.

But he won't be dropped cos Mourinho has to justify his acquisition. All that work to get rid of Rooney only to replace him with worse.

We bought him at the wrong time. The signs of his decline were obvious in his last season at Arsenal, people just brushed it off to him not wanting to be there.

It’s exactly like the Rooney situation, player in a clear decline, with everyone saying “he just needs x y and z and he’ll deliver for us again”. He even runs around a lot, like Rooney did back when he was a liability to the team. As united fans it should be so obvious for us to see this having gone through it with a far better player than Alexis, yet people are still convinced that he’s going to turn on some kind of switch and go back to the player he was 2-3 years ago

I din't watch till 60 mins, so I can't speak for his ball looses and all, but I won't blame the player much now. No player can shine under these awful awful tactics. Lets not blame him alone because he picks the biggest wages.

Don't worry, it's not like the megabucks contract was 4 1/2 years :wenger:

Right now he isnt even the shadow of the player he used to be, serious step down. It seems the only way he can beat his man is by pace, and he lost it. What a shame but I don’t think he can get back to the level he used to have.

I wanted to give him the benefit of doubt since joining a new team during the season can be difficult at times. However after a summer full of rest and even after not taking part of the recent international break he's not improved one bit! I had my doubts about him beforehand, but this is beyond anything I could imagine.

Regardless of the tactics hes been shite, even Martial who gets tons of abuse and was getting it before Sanchez arrived has looked better than him in the same tactical setup

He was involved in the play that led to the goal. And then was subbed off during the time he could've been influential. I can see Mourinho throwing him to the dogs to try and save his own career.

Someone needs to go up front and Lukaku seems better on the right wing where we have nothing anyway.
I'd put money on it that both would be better played like this. Until we can get shut and buy new.
Lukaku doesn't look better on the right wing, 27 goals last season, I'd take that over anything Sanchez is producing. I'm saying this as someone who isn't even Lukakus biggest fan.

Sanchez need to sit on the bench

I wonder if Alexis' physical decline has been expedited by playing with injuries in the past. I remember in 15/16 and 16/17 he played in matches with strapping around his hamstring, with Wenger admitting afterwards he should've been rested. That burst just isn't there, looks like he's running in treacle most of the time.

You may be right, but I'd at least like to see him down the middle before saying he's finished.

China will probably only the place to him such wages.

Rooney situation vol 2, but Rooney was actually somewhat more useful.

Rooney was scoring and assisting even in his last season.

This isnt working. Sanchez should play on our non existant right or not at all.

Sign Adama Traore.

I'm not joking either.

He came as a super star. He got his favourite spot. It doesn't work. It is time to move him on the right. He is still far better than Lingard or Mata there
