I think it's time to give Martial a run of games, watching Alexis huff and puff down that wing isn't yielding anything. For the supposed improvement in attacking play, we still arent able to create chances consistently enough. The coaching staff really needs to earn their money here because the few players that ARE performing can't carry this many passengers in attack.

This is why signings need to planned rather than jumping on a chance. Where the feck is our DoF

There's no point with him. He should be sold as soon as possible (Good luck with the wages). What a shocking signing he has been.

Disastrous signing. To think many on here were saying he's better than Hazard in January.

The best season he had for Arsenal was when he played up top, he had also a better movement around him but that could be fixed, don't think we are also less creative then them, so play him instead of even worse Lukaku up top, artial on the left and Lukaku on the right / bench, if that doesn't work just bench him. show some guts JOse!
He never played up top for us for an entire season. Wenger started to play him there but then decided to play Giroud, then Walcott up front (who was angling for a new contract).

It didn't help that we didn't have another LW to take his place on the wing. Its weird because he did look great there for the few weeks he was up front but Wenger just never followed through.

Those were also some of our worst years creatively. The only player who had a decent first touch in that front six besides Sanchez was Ozil

A player is supposed to be picked based on their on-field and training performance right? Seeing that in games he doesn't produce, does it mean he's a beast during training to justify his constant inclusion?

Having watched Sanchez for so long at Barcelona I can't believe this is the same player. He is not half the player he used to be for United his best days are clearly behind him no longer world class.

His wages... Why on Earth are we being ripped off so easily ?
Yet people want Woodward to spend what ever José wants with no restriction. We’re a mess. Every player we sign drops a level it can’t be coincidence.

Has to be said he has been a disaster of a signing for us as not only has he failed to perform he has cost Martial and even Rashford so many games .

Sanchez was not bought for the future. He was bought to win us the title now. He looks to be the latest in a long series of high profile errors in the transfer market from United and could be the mistake that ultimately costs Jose his job.

Bet he would look better at another club under a different manager. Not that I can prove it or anything.

Yeah the worst thing is the effect on the other players. He's contributed nothing while reducing the effectiveness of two of our existing players.

At least we didn't spend 100m+ on him which is probably what he would have been worth had he had a long term contract.
The outlay on his wages though is massive.

We're essentially paying him to perform like the best player(or near the best player) in the Premier League.

And he's nowhere near it.

That type of poor investment is costly.

Tbf, he was dire for Arsenal last season too.

I think he's just done at the top level.
I remember he wasn't great but everyone put it down to his contract issues (wanting to move on).

Maybe he is done but I still flashes of quality I must say and I can't help but remember that none of our attackers seem to have a clue (which points to coaching as much as quality).

Another signing that wasn't needed. Signed him just for the sake of it. Just typifies our total lack of vision from the top. He will be Rooney MK 2 with his performances/wages , only difference being Rooney at least gave us many years at the top of his game.

Awful signing.
Should never had started the game today, thats on Mourinho who somehow still picks him even though hes been terrible for months.
Wonder how many more shit performances he has to give before hes benched.

I think we put it down to contract issues out of hope it wasn't decline.

Looks washed up unfortunately. Martial should be starting every game from now in his place.

When we signed him I was so happy.
I thought that we finally have a Galactico class player who could play for us for the next 3 years (unlike Ibra who was nearing the end of his career).
I also defended him for a long long time, but I have to say that a Galactico class players does not need 9 months (and counting) to acclimatise to a new team. By now, he should've delivered the goods and it seems that he hasn't.
He is not running the show as you'd expect of a Galactico and were it not for his "name", I'd have benched him a while back.
I think it's time to accept that Sanchez is not the player we thought we were getting.

I'm not a big fan of Martial (mainly due to his weak mentality), but I think I'd rather see him play on the left, than Sanchez, now. Let Sanchez fight for his place by putting in some good performances off the bench (if he has the ability, anymore).

I think we were all delighted. I certainly was.

Let's hope he comes good. But playing him every game isn't good for him or the players competing for his place.

I doubt it dude,
He is being given free reign to basically create magic in the final third and he isn't. He'd have exactly the same problems regardless of the club he plays for.
Maybe if he went to a slower league, like Italy, he'd have more time on the ball and would then be able to create the magic. But in the EPL, I think he'd have been the same had he gone to MCFC.

I think that the idea is that Sanchez will play himself into form, by playing (nearly) every match. But it isn't working.

Di Maria at United > Sanchez at United

Given the way he has been playing, I cannot help but wonder if he really is 30? I know that there were strong rumours about some Colombian players (Falcao the best known one) having their ages fakes? It is far fetched, but I cannot find any other explanation for him becoming so crap all of a sudden. Ok, there is Rooney as a similar example, but one cannot compare the two. Alexis really looked after himself, the guy is ripped.

EDIT: I know Alexis is not Colombian, just mentioned Colombia are both are South American countries.

He's Chilean though, not Colombian.

So disappointed it's untrue. He's suppose to be that player that magic turns draws into wins. Yet again another player that came here with a big reputation but ended in the graveyard of players that the expectation of the shirt was too great and they failed to deliver...

Play him as no. 9. I think he's better there than that guy we have currently.

I think we need to invest big in Martial at this point. For all his critics, the fact is, we NEED the kind of player that can beat men and win games individually. That’s supposed to be Sanchez’ gig, and he has failed spectacularly at it since he got here. Martial has at least shown, in our shirt, that he has it in him to be that player. And he isn’t nearly 30, so at the very least, there’s greater hope/possibility that he could improve.
We can’t exactly go and buy a replacement now, so this is the only option for me.

Sanchez is done. I can’t even see a suitable alternative on the market who could come in and take the mantle. Gareth Bale was our last chance, and that’s gone. Everyone else is 18 or so, or not available.

Lol im a big fan of him and im Chilean. Watching him in a united shirt is something i wanted for a long time.

But what the hell. He should be on the bench every game from now on. Hasnt done anything to deserve to be in the first xi

Maybe its not the flops we're buying. Maybe its the managers we're hiring? No excusing these horrendous individual performances, but how many players have looked half the player they are under Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho? Its beyond a joke.
I understand your perspective but come on, Jose is only asking him to do what Wenger did yet he can't even control the ball. The blame can't lie with the manager.

It's time to stay away from high-profile marquee signings like Sanchez unless they have shown fantastic form shortly before any potential transfer. Sanchez was already not the same player anymore throughout the first 6 months of 17/18 and he continued the declined form at United.
